CAREER STRUCTURE. 25 Additional Increments Division 1 Nurses Grade 2 Year 7, 8 and 9 25.1 The parties agree that the increments introduced during the life of the last Agreement, specifically Grade 2 Year 7 and 8, shall continue. The rates for these increments are contained in Schedule A to this Agreement. A new increment will be introduced namely, Grade 2 Year 9. The rate for this increment shall be formulated as follows: * Year 9 is $22 per week more than Grade 2 Year 8 at the time of introduction. Employees will progress to the increments referred to in this clause according to years of experience (as defined by the Nurses Award) including experience prior to 1 February 2006. Year 9 is available from the first pay period on or after 1 February 2006. 25.2 The parties agree that the two pay points introduced during the life of the last Agreement, namely, Pay point 6 and Pay point 7 will continue. The rates for these pay points are contained at Schedule A of this Agreement. A new pay point shall be introduced, namely pay point 8. The rate for this pay point shall be formulated as follows: * Pay point 8 is $13 per week more than Pay point 7 at the time of introduction. Pay point 8 is available from the first pay period on or after 1 February 2006 Employees will progress to the Pay points referred to in this clause according to the requirements of the Schedule B of this Agreement.

CAREER STRUCTURE. The agreement reached provides for an improved and simplified career structure for all teachers. The new structure will be common across all sectors. Final placement in the new structure for existing holders of promoted posts will be on the basis of agreed criteria which are fair, equitable and transparent. 1.1 New structure to be introduced from April 1 2002. 1.2 Progression through the Chartered Teacher grade will be by qualification. The details of this have still to be fully developed and will be done so by the Executive in partnership with ▇▇▇▇▇ and the Teacher Organisations. 1.3 Final salary placement to the new structure for existing holders of promoted posts will be determined through a job sizing exercise. The development of this exercise will be undertaken by the new national negotiating body the Scottish Negotiating Committee for Teachers (SNCT), (Section 5) on the basis of the following principles. 1.4 From August 2003, all posts of Principal Teacher, Depute Headteacher and Headteacher will be subject to an agreed job sizing exercise, based on the following criteria.

CAREER STRUCTURE. (a) The parties agree that the current incremental scale needs to be reviewed in order to provide an approved career path which provides opportunities and incentives for teachers to grow and develop professionally and pursue teaching promotions. (b) The parties commit to the development of a structured induction program for new and aspiring managers. This program will be developed during the life of the agreement and will include information on the following; Industrial relations (an overview of industrial instruments), human resource management (including TasTAFE policies and procedures), people management, workplace culture, ASQA compliance, RTO compliance, TEAC policies, teacher registration requirements and meeting skills.
