Induction Program Clause Samples
Induction Program. Effective July 1, 2018, unit members in probationary or permanent contracts who meet the eligibility requirements of the District-approved California Teacher Induction Program (formerly BTSA) will not be required to make any financial contributions to participate.
Induction Program. It is the intent of the District and the Association to develop and implement a credential preparation program that will assist teachers holding a preliminary credential to achieve their professional clear credential. It is the intent of the Parties to this Agreement that this “Learning to Teach” program will enable exemplary teachers to serve as mentors to assist Induction Program Teachers with advanced curriculum preparation, formative assessment, personal induction plans and mastering the application of prior learning. This Program is part of a coordinated effort by the Association and the District to train, strengthen and retain employees.
Induction Program. During the induction period, a Mentor rather than supervisory relationship shall exist between the Induction Team and the Inductee. No materials gathered, observations made, or critiques given by mentor shall be incorporated into or in any way be part of evaluation of any employee involved in the program. The employer shall certify to the Department of Education upon the expiration of the induction period for each Inductee that the employee's induction period has been completed. Inductees shall be held harmless in the event the employer fails or refuses to certify completion of the program. Mentors shall receive additional compensation as set forth in Article V, Section 9 of this agreement.
Induction Program. It is understood that the purpose of such participation is to provide peer assistance and that the Consulting Teachers/Support Provider (BTSA) shall play no role in the evaluation of the teaching performance of a BP Teacher. The evaluation of the BP Teacher is the sole responsibility of the MCOE evaluator.
Induction Program. Induction Joint Panel/Definitions
1. Induction Joint Panel (JP) is made up of three (3) CUTA members, appointed by the CUTA and two (2) CUSD administrators, appointed by the Superintendent. The joint panel will select Induction support providers. The District may provide release time up to 50% FTE for full time classroom teachers to serve as Induction Support providers when the District is unable to fill all the Induction Support Provider positions. Such Induction Support Providers will not receive additional compensation. Exceptions may be made by mutual consent of the District and the Association.
2. Induction – JP members will serve a term of three years. One member of the JP will be selected as the Chairperson of the JP. The Chairperson must be a classroom teacher. To hold a meeting, three of the five members of the JP must be present, a majority of which are CUTA members. All decisions will be made by a majority vote. Both CUTA and CUSD may remove appointees and fill vacancies at anytime.
3. Each bargaining unit member of the Induction Joint Panel Members will be paid a stipend of One (1) unit per year. The Stipend paid to Induction Joint Panel Members will be made in one payment. Induction Support Providers Induction Support Providers (SP) - an induction teacher is an exemplary teacher who provides assistance to first and second year teachers.
A. The minimum qualifications for an Induction Support provider shallbe:
a. A Permanent credentialed classroom teacher with a minimum of four (4) years of teaching experience and shall not be a member of the joint panel.
b. Exemplary teaching ability as shown by a demonstration of:
1. Effective communication skills
2. Subject Matter knowledge including, but not limited to the applicable currentstate framework and state standards
3. Possession of a range of teaching strategies necessary to meet the needs of pupils of varying ability in a wide variety of contexts
4. Other criteria as established by the Induction joint panel
B. The District will administer the Teacher Induction Program.

Induction Program. The EMPLOYER shall maintain an induction program in accordance with regulations of the State Board of Education, which shall have as a minimum the following components:
(1) professional employees shall be involved in the development of the induction program; and
(2) the support teacher shall be paid the sum of Five Hundred ($500.00) Dollars for such services for each new teacher assigned to such support teacher, with the pool of support teachers to be selected by the unanimous approval of the District Induction Program Committee, of which a designee of the LINE MOUNTAIN EDUCATION ASSOCIATION shall be a member.
Induction Program.
A. During year one of the induction program, inductees will work one more day as required in Section 5.01. Participation in the induction program shall be the inductees 24 hours of professional/staff development for that work year. At least eleven (11) of these hours shall take place on the designated Induction and Staff Development days. Release time, not to exceed four
Induction Program. 1. The Induction Program/Process The induction process includes a program that provides support for teachers with preliminary credentials. Those teachers with preliminary credentials, or practicing teachers (PTs) are partnered with a well-qualified teacher with a clear credential, otherwise known as a Support Provider (SPs). The SPs will meet with PTs on an ongoing basis to provide what is expected by the Induction program with which the District is associated. For SPs to be selected, they must first apply and interview to determine if they meet the qualifications established by the Induction program and by the District. Once the initial interviews are completed, selected SPs may be asked to work with additional PTs. Also, other teachers may be asked to become SPs based on the number of PTs that are within the District. Selection of the additional SPs will be based on the “best fit” for the PT and the District. Support Providers selected will receive the District per-PT stipend, as a percentage of cell E-14 on the Salary Schedule: a. 2.40% for one PT; b. 3.80% for two PTs;
Induction Program. A position on the agenda shall be provided for an officer of the Bargaining Agent in connection with the induction program for new teachers.
