TEACHER INDUCTION PROGRAM. 14.4.1 The TSN Program for first- and second-year teachers new to the profession, teachers clearing preliminary credentials, and/or for out-of-state teachers with less than five years of classroom experience, will be the District’s Teacher Induction Program. 14.4.2 Probationary and temporary unit members not included in the District’s Teacher Induction Program may request teacher support and assistance from the TSN Joint Committee. When approved, assistance will be provided by a Consulting Teacher or a Mentor Teacher under the same terms of this article which apply to Volunteer TSN Participants.
TEACHER INDUCTION PROGRAM. Induction Joint Panel/Definitions 1. Induction Joint Panel (JP) is made up of three (3) CUTA members, appointed by the CUTA and two (2) CUSD administrators, appointed by the Superintendent. The joint panel will select Induction Mentors. The District may provide release time up to 50% FTE for full time classroom teachers to serve as Induction Mentors when the District is unable to fill all the Induction Support Provider positions. Such Induction Mentors will not receive additional compensation. Exceptions may be made by mutual consent of the District and the Association. 2. Induction – JP members will serve a term of three years. One member of the JP will be selected as the Chairperson of the JP. The Chairperson must be a classroom teacher. To hold a meeting, three of the five members of the JP must be present, a majority of which are CUTA members. All decisions will be made by a majority vote. Both CUTA and CUSDmay remove appointees and fill vacancies at anytime. 3. Each bargaining unit member of the Induction Joint Panel Members will be paid a stipend of One (1) unit per year. The Stipend paid to Induction Joint Panel Members will be made in one payment. Induction Mentors Induction Mentors - an induction mentor is an exemplary teacher who provides assistance to first and second year teachers. A. The minimum qualifications for an Induction Mentors Support provider shallbe: a. A Permanent credentialed classroom teacher with a minimum of four (4) years of teaching experience and shall not be a member of the joint panel. b. Exemplary teaching ability as shown by a demonstration of: 1. Effective communication skills 2. Subject Matter knowledge including, but not limited to the applicable current state framework and state standards 3. Possession of a range of teaching strategies necessary to meet the needs of pupils of varying ability in a wide variety ofcontexts 4. Other criteria as established by the Induction joint panel B. The District will administer the Teacher Induction Program.

TEACHER INDUCTION PROGRAM. All unit members hired effective July 1, 2002 or later are required to successfully complete the ▇▇▇▇ District Induction Program based on credential type and years of full-time teaching experience.
TEACHER INDUCTION PROGRAM. In order to support teachers new to the profession, the District will provide a Teacher Induction Program in alignment with current State Guidelines.
TEACHER INDUCTION PROGRAM. This component shall provide peer assistance to teachers participating in Pre-Intern, Intern, and Teacher Induction Programs (TIPS), as well as first and second year teachers. Support providers shall normally be assigned on a preferred ratio 0 1:1. Participation infthe Program shall not create nor expand any rights to retention or permanency as set forth in Educational Code Section 44929.21 pertaining to probationary Bargaining Unit Members.
TEACHER INDUCTION PROGRAM. Section A. The District will establish the use of a Support Teacher Card which may be submitted annually on or before April by any professional interested in serving as a support teacher for the following school year. Section B. The term "inductee" shall be defined to mean any professional whom the District assigns to the Induction Program. Section C. It is understood that the Support Teacher Meeting will be held in August and will be required for support teachers (mentors) . Teacher Orientation scheduled for August and seminars scheduled for August for new teachers (inductees) are all meetings for which support teacher attendance will be on a voluntary basis. New teachers (inductees) shall be required to attend Teacher Orientation Meetings in accordance with Article 12A(2). Section D. Compensation for the support teacher shall be as follows: For any and all time devoted to the Teacher Induction .179 Extra Pay Ration (see Exhibit C) Program to a maximum of thirty (30) hours. Payment for any hours beyond the thirty (30) hours, subject to prior approval of the principal – to a maximum of fifteen (15) hours at the contractual hourly rate. Section E. The inductee shall be compensated for any hours beyond the normal school day to a maximum of fifteen (15) hours. Section F. When the induction year begins later than September 1 and thus carries over into the following school year, the payment shall be prorated on an annualized basis using the rate established for the school year during which the service is rendered. Section G. Should more than one teacher serve as a Support Teacher for one inductee during a school year, each Support Teacher's compensation shall be prorated on an annualized basis using the rate established for the school year during which the service is rendered.
TEACHER INDUCTION PROGRAM. Unit members who have been employed by GPA for one full academic year shall be eligible for reimbursement of up to $2,500 for successfully completing a teacher induction program approved by the California Department of Education and the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing while employed by GPA. Unit members shall not be entitled to reimbursement for programs completed prior to the unit member’s employment at GPA. Unit members shall not be eligible for reimbursement following termination of their employment at GPA.
TEACHER INDUCTION PROGRAM. Subd. 1 The CEB will develop the new teacher orientation for all teachers new to the district. Teachers attending this orientation will be compensated at the staff development rate.

In order for students to succeed in learning, teachers must succeed in teaching. Teachers are viewed as valuable professionals who deserve to have the best resources available provided to them in the interest of achieving and maintaining successful performance. Therefore, the parties agree to cooperate in the design, support, and implementation of a program to improve the quality of instruction through individualized, job-embedded mentoring and support to teachers in the induction program to meet the California Standards for the Teaching Profession.
