The Evaluation Tools clause defines the procedures and resources used to assess performance, quality, or compliance within an agreement. Evaluation Tools. University will provide forms for the evaluation of Students or develop student performance evaluation tools in conjunction with District.

8.5.1 Student questionnaires shall be administered every quarter (excluding summer) and for every class taught. They will be delivered utilizing automated student questionnaires via Canvas or appropriate technology. Certain programs may use a different student evaluation tool agreed upon by both parties (see Appendix) If the faculty member disagrees with any student comments, the faculty member shall have the right to place their disagreement in writing and submit it to the Vice President for Instruction. Outside of evaluation years, faculty members shall have the right to opt-out of student questionnaires by submitting a request to the Director of eLearning during the first 30 days of fall quarter or the first 30 days of the next quarter taught if not teaching fall quarter. Opt-out requests must be renewed annually.
8.5.2 One chair/peer classroom observation shall be conducted during the faculty evaluation process, and the observation form shall be reviewed and signed by both parties in a private meeting held to discuss the observation. If the faculty member disagrees with any portion of the classroom observation form, the faculty member shall have the right to place their disagreement in writing and attach it to the form.
8.5.3 Three course reviews shall be completed by the faculty member and submitted to the supervising administrator as part of the faculty evaluation process. Course reviews may be completed at any time during the four-year evaluation cycle. The three course requirement may be waived if the faculty member can demonstrate that they have taught only one or two courses per quarter during the four-year cycle.
8.5.4 One self-reflection shall be completed by the faculty member and submitted to the supervising administrator as part of the faculty evaluation process. Faculty members are encouraged to update their self-reflections annually during the four-year evaluation cycle.

Evaluation Tools. The Washington State eVal tool will be used by employees and principals to complete evaluations for employees on the comprehensive and focused evaluation tracks. Evaluators recognize that while some evidence may need to be entered in eVal, many artifacts and evidence may be provided in other formats including discussion.
