Fasteners Clause Samples
The Fasteners clause defines the requirements and standards for all fasteners used in a project or product. It typically specifies the types, grades, and finishes of bolts, screws, nuts, and other fastening hardware that must be used, and may require compliance with certain industry standards or testing protocols. For example, it might mandate the use of stainless steel fasteners in outdoor installations to prevent corrosion. The core function of this clause is to ensure the durability, safety, and compatibility of assembled components by standardizing the quality and type of fasteners used.
Fasteners. (1) SAE Grades 5, 8 and 8.2 and ASTM Grade A325 fasteners, identified at ▇▇▇▇://▇▇▇▇▇▇.▇▇▇/ehss/downloads/headmark- list-suspect-counterfeit-fasteners-1992 entitled Suspect Fastener Headmark List, cannot be introduced into DOE facilities. Therefore, such fasteners shall not be provided as deliverable end items or incorporated into deliverable end items under this contract.
(2) Any fasteners delivered under this contract shall be subject to the requirements of the Fastener Quality Act (“the Act”), Public Law 101-592, ▇▇▇▇▇ ▇▇, ▇▇▇▇▇▇ ▇▇▇▇▇▇ Code (U.S.C.), Chapter 80, and those requirements as stated in this contract. No fastener, as defined in the Act and regulations issued thereunder by the Secretary of Commerce, shall be supplied to Company, regardless of lot size.
(3) Nothing in this clause shall prohibit Company from requiring in this contract, the inspection and testing of a greater number of fasteners from a lot than is specified in the applicable standards or specifications to which the manufacturer represents the fasteners to have been manufactured or in the applicable sampling procedures specified by the Secretary of Commerce.
Fasteners. Each container of fasteners shall be conspicuously marked with the number of the lot from which such fasteners were taken. Seller shall provide one Certificate of Conformity for each part number contained in a fastener shipment. This document shall contain at a minimum the Seller’s name, the standards and specifications, name of the manufacturer, lot number, purchase order number, item number when applicable, and a factual statement that a copy of a written certificate by the Manufacturer is on file at the Seller’s facility available for review by PHS upon request. The Manufacturer's certificate shall state that –
a. The fasteners have been manufactured according to the requirements of the applicable standards and specifications and have been inspected and tested by a laboratory,
b. An original laboratory testing report is on file with the manufacturer and available for inspection.
Fasteners. Use the same metal or a metal compatible with the item fastened. Use stainless steel fasteners to fasten dissimilar materials.
Fasteners. Flush-driven through flat round or hexagonal steel or plastic plates. Steel plates shall be zinc-coated, flat round not less than 1 3/8 inch diameter or hexagonal not less than 28 gage. Plastic plates shall be high-density, molded thermoplastic with smooth top surface, reinforcing ribs and not less than 3 inches in diameter. Fastener head shall recess fully into the plastic plate after it is driven. Plates shall be formed to prevent dishing. Do not use ▇▇▇▇-or cup-shaped plates. Fasteners shall conform to insulation manufacturer's recommendations.
2.2.1 Fasteners for Steel Concrete Decks Approved hardened penetrating fasteners or screws in accordance with FM 4450 and listed in FM APP GUIDE for Class I roof deck construction. Quantity and placement to withstand uplift pressures shown.
Fasteners. Factory-coated steel fasteners and metal or plastic plates complying with corrosion-resistance provisions in FM Global 4470, designed for fastening substrate board to roof deck.
Fasteners. (a) No self tapping screws. They are difficult to install and they can potentially leave small slivers of metal inside of the unit.
(b) Utilize identical screw in as many locations as possible. This will speed assembly line construction.
Fasteners. A. Fasteners: Size and type indicated. Where rough carpentry is exposed to weather, in ground contact, or in area of high relative humidity, provide fasteners with hot-dip zinc coating complying with ASTM A 153/A 153M.
1. Power-Driven Fasteners: CABO NER-272. PART 3 - EXECUTION
Fasteners. 1. Unless directed otherwise in the Special Provisions, field coat black iron and galvanized fasteners as follows:
a) If the fasteners are prepared by solvent cleaning and abrasive blast cleaning, apply all coats of the specified field system.
b) If the fasteners are prepared by solvent cleaning and power tool cleaning:
(1) For systems A and A ; B, B , and B ; C and C ; D and D ; and K and K , apply two coats of intermediate and one coat of finish.
(2) For systems E, F, G, I , and J, apply all coats.
Fasteners. A. Bolts: Holes for bolts in steel plates and angles shall be drilled 1/16-inch greater than bolt diameter.
Fasteners. Standard fasteners shall be No. 14, Type ‘A’, self –tapping sheet metal screws with metal and neoprene washers. All screws shall have hexagonal heads, colour coated to match roof and wall sheeting and made of zinc plated /coated steel conforming to relevant IS/ASTM codes. The panel clip shall be fastened to structural members with Screw bolt fastener as per manufacturer’s recommendation. The size of the fastener shall be calculated as per the design load and approved by concern authority.
