Master Rotations Sample Clauses
Master Rotations. (a) The Bargaining Unit President will be provided with a copy of all current master rotations no later than January 30th in each year.
(b) Notice to amend current master rotations will be submitted to the Bargaining Unit no less than ninety (90) days prior to the scheduled posting of any master rotation schedule. The master rotation schedule will not be implemented on any unit until such time as the parties have reviewed the changes and an agreement has been reached. Such agreement shall not be unreasonably withheld.
(c) Where a master rotation schedule is required to change as a result of a permanent long-term layoff, or the addition of new full-time positions, the employees on the affected unit will be provided with 90 days’ notice that their master rotation may be amended. Where the staffing changes do not result in a need to change the master rotation schedule, it will not be changed. Where a master rotation schedule is changed pursuant to the above, individual schedule rotations will be awarded on the basis of seniority. Where the master rotation contains a job sharing arrangements, the seniority of the two regular part-time employees sharing the full-time position will be added together and divided by 2 to determine the seniority to be used for the awarding of the rotation.
(d) Individual lines on a master rotation shall not be changed without prior discussion between the employee affected and her or his immediate supervisor. Where an employee has complained to her or his Manager about a schedule and the Union requests a copy of the applicable schedule, the Manager shall provide a copy to the Union.
(e) Where a unit has a master rotation and a line becomes vacant, requests may be submitted in writing for consideration of transferring to the vacant line in the rotation. The transfer shall be granted to an employee by seniority on the affected unit prior to filling the vacancy.
(f) If a manager requests or approves, through an expression of intent, a nurse assisting with the development of a permanent Master Rotation the employer will endeavour to provide said nurse with time during her schedules day to work on development of the schedule.
(a) The Hospital will normally schedule two (2) weekends off in four (4) unless mutually agreed.
(b) A nurse will receive premium pay for all hours worked on a third and subsequent consecutive weekend except where:
(1) such weekend has been worked by the nurse to satisfy specific days off requested by such nurse; or...
Master Rotations. The Employer shall establish master rotations for regularly scheduled Employees. Full-time and OTFT Part-time Employees guaranteed hours as per their letter of appointment shall be reflected on the master rotation. Float positions may or may not have a master rotation.
Master Rotations. Wherever possible, master rotations shall be used and each employee shall be assigned to a place on the master rotation schedule.
Master Rotations. (a) Each Unit, except those units where self-scheduling is implemented will have a master schedule, with a copy provided to the Bargaining Unit President.
(b) Six (6) weeks prior to implementation of a new master rotation a copy will be provided to the Bargaining Unit President.
(c) Where a master rotation is changed the employees on the affected unit will be provided with six (6) weeks’ notice and have input into the creation of the new master.
(d) Where a master rotation is changed, individual schedule rotations will be awarded on the basis of unit seniority
(e) If an individual rotation is vacated, unit employees will be allowed to choose the vacant rotation prior to the commencement of new staff hired to the posted position. In the event of a conflict then unit seniority will govern.
Master Rotations. (a) Master rotations will not be changed without the agreement of the employees on the unit. Such agreement will be secured by a secret ballot vote of the employees. Where two (2) part-time employees share a full-time position in a job sharing arrangement, the regular part-time employees in the job sharing arrangement will be entitled to one (1) vote. The vote must equal or exceed eighty percent (80%) of the employees on the unit who vote on a master rotation for the master rotation to be changed.
(b) Where a master rotation schedule is changed due to a permanent long-term layoff, or the addition of new full-time positions, the employee on the affected unit will be provided with 90 days’ notice that their master rotation may be amended. Where a master rotation schedule is changed pursuant to the above, individual schedule rotations will be awarded on the basis of seniority. Where the master rotation contains a job sharing arrangement, the seniority of the two regular part-time employees sharing the full-time position will be added together and divided by 2 to determine the seniority to be used for the awarding of the rotations.
(c) Individual lines on a master rotation shall not be changed without forty-five (45) days notice and prior discussion between the employee affected and his/her immediate supervisor. Such change shall not be done in an arbitrary or unreasonable manner.
Master Rotations. (a) The Bargaining Unit President and the Hospital Scheduling Committee will be provided with a copy of all current master rotations no later than January 30th in each year.
(b) The Hospital will provide no less than sixty (60) days’ notice to the Bargaining Unit President and affected nurses regarding amendments to the current master schedule prior to the amended master rotation schedule being posted.
(c) Where a master rotation schedule is required to change as a result of a permanent long-term layoff, or the addition of new positions, the nurses on the affected unit will be provided with 60 (sixty) days’ notice that their master rotation may be amended. Where the staffing changes do not result in a need to change the master rotation schedule, it will not be changed.
(d) Individual lines on a master rotation shall not be changed without sixty (60) days’ notice being provided to the affected nurses and the Union.
(e) Where a unit has a master rotation and a line becomes vacant, requests may be submitted in writing for consideration of transferring to the vacant line in the rotation. Considering appropriate skills of registered nurses, the transfer may be granted to a nurse by seniority on the affected unit prior to filling the vacancy.
(f) Units without master rotation schedules that wish to formulate and implement master schedules, and when 80% of the nurses on the unit voted to do so, will select two (2) nurses from their unit to sit on a Committee with a member of the Bargaining Unit Leadership and an equal number of Hospital Representatives to develop a master rotation schedule to meet the needs of that particular unit, subject to all posting and scheduling requirements of the Collective Agreement.
Master Rotations. X-1 The Registered Nurses on any unit wishing to formulate and implement master schedules for full-time Nurses will select two (2) Nurses from their unit to sit on a Committee with a member of the Local Executive and an equal number of Hospital Representatives to develop a master rotation schedule to meet the needs of that particular unit, subject to all posting and scheduling requirements of the Collective Agreement
Master Rotations. Where the Regular part time Nurses on a unit have developed a master rotation which conforms to the Collective Agreement and with the staffing requirements established by the Hospital for the Unit, they may submit the schedules along with a request for implementation to the Hospital and Union. The Hospital will then discuss the request and proposed schedule with the Association at the Hospital Association Committee. If the parties agree to the proposed master rotation, - with or without amendments – a process for implementation, which may include a trial, will be developed and agreed to by the parties prior to implementation on the unit.
Master Rotations. (a) Proposed master rotations will be developed by the Manager jointly with the staff on the unit. Copies of the proposed master rotation being changed will be provided to the Bargaining Unit President prior to being presented to the Unit staff for voting.
(b) Where a master rotation schedule is changed due to a permanent long- term layoff or the addition of new full-time positions, the nurses on the affected unit will be provided with ninety (90) days’ notice that their master rotation may be amended. Where a master rotation schedule is changed pursuant to the above, individual schedule/rotations will be selected by seniority.
(c) When new Master Rotations are developed on a Unit, the nurses will select the start position on the new schedule in writing based on their seniority and submit to the Manager.
(d) Any nurse who is interested in working a vacant position in a master rotation will express this desire to the Unit Manager in writing. The Manager will assign work based on seniority based on the requirements of the Unit. Such request shall not be unreasonably denied.
(e) If requested, copies of all schedules shall be provided to the Bargaining Unit President.
Master Rotations. Wherever possible, master rotations shall be used. Master rotation means fixed schedules to which each Employee is assigned or through which the Employees rotate. When new master rotations are being created, the Employer shall provide impacted Employees with a minimum of six (6) weeks notice prior to implementation, in order to permit input from the Employees. The Employer shall take Employee preferences into consideration when possible and on an equitable basis, operational requirements permitting. Master Rotations shall only consist of eight (8) and twelve (12) hour shifts unless mutually agreed between the Employer, the Union and the Employee.
