The Peer Assistance & Review Program clause establishes a structured process for evaluating and supporting employees, typically educators, through peer involvement. Under this program, experienced colleagues observe, assess, and provide feedback or mentorship to their peers, often focusing on professional development or addressing performance concerns. Its core function is to improve job performance and instructional quality by leveraging the expertise of peers, while also ensuring fair and constructive evaluation outside of traditional supervisory channels.
Peer Assistance & Review Program. The Peer Assistance and Review Program (Program) allows exemplary teachers to assist certain permanent and beginning teachers in the areas of subject matter knowledge, teaching strategies, and teaching methods.

Peer Assistance & Review Program. The PAR Program, as specifically cited by the Legislature, is intended to be a “critical feedback mechanism that allows exemplary teachers to assist veteran teachers in need of development in subject matter knowledge or teaching strategies, or both.” Effective July 1, 2000, the District and the MEA agree that the District may implement the California Peer Assistance and Review Program For Teachers (PAR Program) under California Education Code sections 44500 – 44508 consistent with the provisions in this Article in any school year. This Article does not apply to probationary or temporary classroom teachers. The District and the MEA agree that the PAR Program in any school year may be contingent upon the actual receipt by the District of adequate funding from the State specifically designated for the PAR Program and may take action so that the District does not lose any funding under the PAR Program. Pursuant to Education Code section 44506(c), the District also may expend PAR Program funds from the State for any other allowable purpose.
Peer Assistance & Review Program. The Peer Assistance and Review Program (PAR) allow exemplary teachers to assist certain permanent and beginning teachers in the areas of subject matter knowledge, teaching strategies, and teaching methods. The extent of the program’s assistance and review depends on whether the participating teacher is a beginning teacher, a volunteer permanent teacher, or a permanent teacher who has received an unsatisfactory evaluation in the areas of teaching methods and instruction. The Program’s assistance shall be provided through Consulting/Mentor Teachers as described in detail in Section 2.3 of this document. This assistance shall not involve the participation in nor the conducting of the annual evaluation of the certificated unit members as set forth in Article XIII of the Contract and Education Code 44660, et seq., except for making available to the Administrator Evaluator the results of some unit members’ participation in the Program. The Program resources shall be utilized in the following priority: first, for Participating Teachers with an unsatisfactory evaluation; second, for Beginning Teachers; third, for Voluntary Participating Teachers on evaluation cycle and finally, for other Voluntary Participating Teachers. 1. Peer Assistance & Review Program. If the District and the Association agree to implement a Peer Assistance Review Program for Teachers commencing with Education Code Section 44500, the results of an employee’s participation in the Peer Assistance Review shall be made available as part of the evaluation of any employee participating in the Peer Assistance Review Program. 1. Once an employee receives three (3) unsatisfactory evaluations, the employee shall be required to participate in this Peer Assistance Review Program if required by Education code section 44664 or any other written agreement between the District and Turlock Teachers Association. The District may require reasonable remediation at no expense to the employee. 2. If an employee participates in the Peer Assistance Review Program for teachers commencing with Education Code Section 44500, the results of an employee’s participation in the Peer Assistance Review shall be made available as part of the evaluation of any employee participating in the Peer Assistance Review Program.

  • Employee Assistance Program Neither the fact of an employee's participation in an employee assistance program, nor information generated by participation in the program, shall be used as a reason for discipline under this Article, except for information relating to an employee's failure to participate in an employee assistance program consistent with the terms to which the employee and the University have agreed.
