The PAR Program clause establishes the framework for a Performance Assessment and Review (PAR) process within an agreement. PAR Program. The PAR Program is a yearlong process that involves frequent, ongoing, classroom-based assistance and a standards based review of a teacher’s practice. Aimed at improving teacher quality, a trained Peer Consultant Teacher (PCT) provides personalized assistance and instructional support for Participating Teachers (PT) who are interested in improving their professional practice and voluntarily request to participate. The PAR program affirms the district’s efforts to support and appraise teachers based on the guidelines of the district’s Teacher Appraisal Process (TAP). PAR is fully aligned with TAP and utilizes the same domain rubrics, observation cycles and ISBE descriptors that define the TAP process. Participating Teachers (PT) in PAR use the same forms, follow the same timelines, complete the same events, and adhere to guidelines as outlined in the TAP document.
PAR Program. If no improvement is noted at the final evaluation conference and the evaluatee receives multiple "unsatisfactory" ratings in one or more domains as indicated in the evaluator's comment section, the evaluatee will be required to participate in the PAR Program, if funded and operative, as a Referred Participating Educator during the next school year. This will be in addition to the regularly scheduled evaluation process.

PAR Program. 12 1. Referred Teacher Participants (RTP) 14 a. A Referred Teacher Participant is a teacher with permanent status who 15 receives an unsatisfactory overall rating on the year-end evaluation (related to 16 instructional skills, classroom management, knowledge of subject matter, or 17 other related aspects of teaching performance). Permanent teachers may not 18 be referred to PAR for an isolated problem with his or her teaching 19 performance if the overall evaluation is satisfactory. A teacher may not be 20 referred to PAR for attendance problems, repeated tardiness, failure to 21 complete required attendance or grade reports or to comply with other similar 22 administrative requirements or directives. The purpose of such participation 23 is to help the RTP correct the job-related deficiencies and achieve a 24 satisfactory level of teaching performance. 26 b. The PAR Committee shall make a good faith effort to assign a Consulting 27 Teacher to the RTP prior to September 1st. At the request of the RTP 28 Consulting Teacher, Director of Human Resources, or on its own initiative, 29 the Committee may assign a different Consulting Teacher to work with the 30 RTP at any time during the year. 32 c. The Consulting Teacher shall use such methods as he or she deems 33 appropriate to help the RTP correct the job-related deficiencies and achieve a 34 satisfactory level of teaching performance. The Consulting Teacher will 35 submit periodic (no less than one every three months) written Status Reports 36 to the Committee and Director of Human Resources. The Consulting Teacher 37 will continue to provide assistance to the RTP until he or she receives a 38 satisfactory evaluation. The Consulting Teacher will submit a written Final 39 Report to the Committee and Director of Human Resources. A copy of each 40 report and the Final Report of the Consulting Teacher will be submitted to, 41 and discussed with, the RTP before it is submitted to the Committee. The 42 RTP will have the right to submit to the Committee a written response to each 43 Status Report and to the Final Report of the Consulting Teacher. The RTP has 44 the right to meet with the Committee before it makes a final recommendation 45 to the Board of Education. 1 d.   • Mentor Program a. Each new Bargaining Unit Member (first year employee) shall be assigned a mentor. An exception may be made, as determined by the Superintendent, for new part-time Bargaining unit Members of whom have prior service in the same program operated by the Board. The mentor shall assist the new Bargaining Unit Member in general teaching procedures, techniques, classroom planning and organization, school functions and regulations and other areas of professional growth and development. The Association President in collaboration with the Lead Mentor/Resident Educator Coordinator and appropriate Directors shall submit nominations of three (3) qualified staff members to the Superintendent, after obtaining the candidates’ permission. The Superintendent may elect to nominate one of the candidates to the Board of Education for assignment, or ask the Association President and Lead Mentor/Resident Educator Coordinator for additional nominations. b. No mentor shall be assigned more than one new Bargaining Unit Member per year. The mentor shall not be involved in any way in the formal evaluation of the new Bargaining Unit Member, but shall confer with the assigned Supervisor on the strengths and weaknesses of the new unit member and his or her overall performance and progress. In order to be assigned, mentors must possess the following qualifications: i. At least two (2) years of successful teaching experience at Tolles. ii. A variety of teaching experience. iii. An ability and willingness to help improve another teacher. c. Mentors shall attend one or two (2) training seminars held outside the regular workday. The Association President in collaboration with the Lead Mentor/Resident Educator Coordinator and appropriate Directors will draft a list of tasks which mentors are to perform. d. Mentor teachers shall certify that they have spent a minimum of 15 hours during the school year in mentor training and working with their assigned new Bargaining Unit Member. The new Bargaining Unit Member may make written application to the Superintendent for up to 15 hours additional mentor service. The mentor teacher, the new Bargaining Unit Member, and the Superintendent or Superintendent’s designee, will meet to discuss a plan of action for additional hours requested. Mentor teachers shall be paid for the documented work hours at the hourly rate of $30. The payment shall be in a one-time lump sum at the end of the school year. e. If there are teachers who are new to the District, the Lead Mentor will receive two (2) days extended time to work with new teachers and the administration before the regular instructional year for the purpose of training new staff members in the successful use of the teacher handbook, school regulations, and operational procedures.

  • Other Programs Nothing contained in this performance stock unit agreement shall affect the right of the Award Holder to participate in and receive benefits under and in accordance with the then current provisions of any pension, insurance, profit-sharing or other employee benefit plan or program of the Corporation or of any Subsidiary of the Corporation.

  • DTC Program For so long as any of the Notes are outstanding, the Company will employ as the Transfer Agent for the Common Stock and Shares a participant in the Depository Trust Company Automated Securities Transfer Program and cause the Common Stock to be transferable pursuant to such program.

  • Resident Educator Program The four-year program is designed to provide newly licensed Ohio educators quality mentoring and guidance. Successful completion of the residency program is required to advance to a five-year professional educator license.
