Posting and Filling of Positions. If a registered nurse position is or will be open, the hospital will post the position at Unity Hospital on Tuesdays and Fridays of every weekelectronically for a period of seven (7) days before offering or permanently filling the position. The hospital will notify the Association of any changes in the procedure. If the procedures are not followed, the hospital agrees to repost the position for an additional seven (7) days prior to permanently filling the position. Said notice shall include a listing of the station/unit, the number of shifts per payroll period, the shift rotation, and any required on-call. If no qualified nurses apply within the posting period and the Hospital determines that the position still should be filled (with or without modifications to the job qualifications), then the position will be reposted for another 7-day window. The posting will also include the required qualifications, including physical and mental demands, for the position. These qualifications are defined as years of experience, work experience, current certifications (or certifications to be obtained if the positions is awarded), licensure, and education. The Hospital may state up to three levels of required qualifications. The qualifications can be demonstrated through the interview or other designated process (e.g., skills tests, etc.). These requirements can be obtained through Human Resources or the nurse manager. The following qualifications shall be identified: Minimum qualifications, including physical and mental demands, to apply for the position. All positions will require no greater than thirty-two (32) pounds lifting requirement. Required qualifications to be granted the position (qualifications required to be demonstrated through the interview or other designated process [skills tests, etc]). Posting and Filling of Positions. For purposes of reconfiguration to Middle Schools, the filling of positions will be on the basis of District aggregate seniority and the staffing process will be as follows:
(i) When a middle school is being established the staffs of impacted elementary and secondary schools will be canvassed for teachers wishing to join the staff of the middle school, with positions being first awarded to the most senior volunteer.
(ii) In the event that an impacted school is required to decrease staff because of configuration, Article E.28.5 (Enrollment Decline) will be followed.
(iii) In the event that vacancies remain in the middle school following (i) and (ii) above, existing post and fill processes will be followed. The ATU will be provided with the names and positions affected, and will be consulted prior to finalization of placements.

9:01 All vacancies, temporary vacancies and new positions subsequently opened which come under the scope of this Agreement, shall be advertised for a period of five (5) complete working days in each school. 9:02 Positions shall not be posted for competition until any laid off employees have been given opportunity for recall in accordance with Article 11:02.
9:03 Subject to Article 11:02, in filling a vacant or new position, ability to meet the requirements of the position shall be the main criterion. When ability and qualifications of applicants are sufficient, seniority shall prevail.
9:04 An employee not in layoff status who successfully bids on a posting for a temporary vacancy becomes a temporary employee subject to layoff when the permanent incumbent returns to the position.

Posting and Filling of Positions. If a nursing position is or will be open, the Hospital will electronically post the position for a period of at least seven (7) days before permanently filling the position. Said notice shall include a listing of the station unit, the number of shifts per payroll period, the shift rotation, the required qualifications for the position and the person to whom to apply. All job offers shall be made by the Human Resources department only. In addition, Human Resources will contact nurses not selected for positions in person or by telephone. If personal contact is not possible, notification will be in writing within approximately 14 days of the position being filled. In filling any such bargaining unit position, the primary consideration shall be whether the applicant meets the required qualifications to perform the duties of the open position. The transfer of a nurse to the position for which the nurse has been accepted will be reviewed on an individual basis but shall not exceed a period of 60 calendar days three (3) months. This period may be extended by mutual agreement between the nurse and the Clinical Director(s) involved. Nurses filling posted positions are required to maintain a position on their unit for twelve (12) months before transferring to a new posted position on a different unit. The limitation on transfer may be waived upon agreement of the nurse and the Nurse Managers of the impacted units. Subject to the foregoing, nurses meeting the required qualifications shall be given preference over nurses not currently employed by the Hospital, and as between nurses employed by the Hospital; preference shall be given to the most senior qualified nurse in the bargaining unit who currently holds a position on the hospital unit, followed by the most senior qualified nurse within the bargaining unit.

If no replacement employee bids upon an available vacancy, the most junior replacement employee shall be assigned to the position, if the available vacancy is on the same workweek (applicable to those employees grandfathered on Monday to Friday shifts).
18.03 The successful applicant on a bid job shall be considered to be on trial/training for a period not exceeding thirty (30) work days during which time he will receive the hourly rate of the bid job. An employee, who fails to qualify for the job, shall be returned to his former classification, rate and shift.
