Probation Department. Call back time is separate and distinct from on-call time and is not related to Section 2.C. of the Merced County Human Resources Rules and Regulations. 1. Regular permanent or probationary employees who have been designated by the Department Head to use their bilingual skills on a regular basis to act as interpreters shall receive a pay differential of sixty-five cents (65¢) per hour. 2. The bilingual pay differential will be paid for all hours worked including overtime. 3. The Department of Human Resources shall formulate policies and procedures for administering examinations to verify employee's language and communication skills.

Probation Department. All probation conditions and release compliance remain the responsibility of the AB 109 probation officer assigned to a specific offender. These conditions are predetermined before release from custody to probation, post release community supervision, or mandatory supervised release. The offenders will be under the supervision of their assigned probation officer or ACT probation officer.

Probation Department. Requests for vacation are to be approved by the immediate supervisor. The Probation Department has discretion to limit the number of staff on vacation at any one time. At certain times, especially during June through August, December, and extreme staffing shortages, the department may place a department-wide restriction on vacation usage.
