PTO Requests. All requests for PTO may be submitted up to one (1) year in advance and not less than fifteen (15) days before the work schedule is posted (i.e., by the 5th of the preceding month). Such requests will be granted based on the date the request was submitted, provided the skills and abilities of the nurses affected are not significant factors as determined by the Employer. Nurses will be notified in writing as to whether the PTO is approved within 21 days or the date the work schedule is posted, whichever occurs first, after the request is submitted.

If the amount of requested PTO exceeds the difference between these two amounts, then the request will be denied. If the request is granted but the information provided is not accurate, the nurse may be subject to disciplinary action, which may include that the nurse’s PTO request is rescinded.

However, the time off may be permitted at the employer’s sole discretion. 4. Employees will be notified whether requested PTO is approved within 30 days of the request.
PTO Requests. 23 A. Requests off should be submitted ten (10) days (Wednesday) prior 24 to the posting date. PRN Nurses are responsible to make the Unit 25 Manager aware of their available dates the ten (10) days prior to 26 the posting date for each schedule period. The Nurse shall specify 27 in the request, if requesting PTO. PTO requests may be granted 28 only if sufficient PTO hours are currently available in the Nurses’ 29 PTO bank. Time off without pay may be granted in emergencies 30 and special situations only. 1 B. The District shall make a reasonable effort to accommodate PTO 2 requests. PTO will be used to meet the position description of full- 3 time or part-time. 5 C. PTO requests will be granted on a first come, first-serve basis as 6 documented in the request. PTO Requests. Employees may submit PTO requests for any desired dates on a first come, first served basis, provided they have/will have the requested time available on the books. Requests will be subject to approval by supervisors/managers. Decisions by supervisors/managers will be based on review of the Programmed Flying Training (PFT) load at the time of the request or site training event(s). Once approved, changes of the PFT load is not justification to cancel already approved PTO time.
