5 A. Employees are to be safety conscious in their own actions and are to report unsafe 6 or unhealthy conditions to their immediate supervisor.
SAFETY PROCEDURE. 17.01 The Company will furnish and maintain safe working gear and equipment for the protection of its Officers and shall continue to make reasonable provisions and rules for their safety.
17.02 The Guild agrees to cooperate with the Company in promoting safe practices and conditions aboard the ship.
SAFETY PROCEDURE. Stage 1: An employee who believes that a condition has developed which presents a significant threat to his health or safety shall promptly notify his Supervisor of such condition. The Supervisor shall determine, as promptly as possible, whether such condition represents a significant threat to the health or safety of the employee or employees involved and, if indicated, initiate appropriate corrective measures.
SAFETY PROCEDURE. 1. The Board considers the safety of its employees to be of prime importance. In order to continue to provide safe conditions under which its employees work, the Board will provide safety meetings for all employees under the direction of district supervisors and/or members of the State Department of Industrial Relations. Said meetings shall be established and scheduled by the Board and shall be on Board time.
2. The Board further agrees to provide training on all equipment for a department as necessary which an employee of that department classification would have to operate in the usual or normal performance of his/her responsibility.
3. The Board agrees to provide safety protection equipment such as safety goggles, hard hats, or other equipment which may be prescribed by law.
4. Employee concerns for safety may be discussed at the Labor Management meetings. Items of safety not resolved at said meetings shall be reported to the Board for their consideration.
5. In the event a safety problem is not solved satisfactorily following a meeting with the Board, either party may call in the State Department of Industrial Relations to conduct an investigation of the area of safety concern, and their report shall be presented to the Board and be heard at a public meeting.
6. Once provided, a picture identification tag must be worn by all employees at all times while on duty, unless job responsibilities/safety concerns require the tag to be removed. In such a case, the tag must be readily available.

8 B. l. Upon receiving written notice of an alleged unsafe or unhealthy condition 9 from an employee, the supervisor will have the responsibility of determining 10 if in fact an unsafe or unhealthy condition exists.
SAFETY PROCEDURE. Whenever a position is eliminated or abolished in a classification within the department, layoffs or demotions in lieu of layoffs will be in reverse order of classification seniority:
1. In the event of a tie in classification seniority by two or more employees, the order of seniority for such employees shall be based on departmental seniority.
2. In the event a tie still exists after reviewing departmental seniority, the order of seniority for these employees shall be established by the Chief of Police after reviewing these employee’s performance evaluations.
SAFETY PROCEDURE. In the event of dispute arising concerning an alleged unsafe or unhealthy practice the following procedure shall be adopted:
i. An employee or employees considering a work practice or condition to be unsafe or unhealthy shall contact in the first instance their supervisor.
ii. If the matter is not satisfactorily resolved the employee may request the union delegate or member of the safety committee to take up the matter with an appropriate Company representative.
iii. If no satisfactory resolution of the safety health question is reached, and avenues of conciliation are exhausted, the delegate or union representation and Company representation shall prohibit the work practice or condition temporarily, until stage 4 has been completed.
iv. The final decision on the practice shall be made, in the case of disagreement between the parties, by an inspector of WorkCover NSW or other governmental authority, whichever may be appropriate.
SAFETY PROCEDURE. 13.1 The Service Provider within 30 (thirty) days from the Effective Date, the Service Provider shall develop, implement and administer a Safety Management Plan (“SMP”) as per prevailing laws and ISO standards for providing a safe environment on or about the Project and for safe execution of the Work. The Service Provider shall provide details of the SMP to the UPCA. The Service Provider shall always strictly adhere to the SMP approved by the UPCA from time to time.
13.2 The Service Provider shall be responsible for the operation of the Service Provider’s equipment, machinery and all other Works and shall take all precautions necessary to ensure the safety of the personnel engaged in the execution of the Works and the Site during the Construction Period. The Service Provider shall further make adequate arrangements for the safety of workers and others under guidelines of statutory bodies for safety in construction and notify the UPCA about such arrangements.
13.3 The Service Provider shall provide necessary Personal Protective Equipment (“PPE”) required for their activity at the site. Generally, the following PPE must be available at the construction site for workers,
(a) Safety helmet for all workers.
(b) Safety shoes for all workers.
(c) Safety gloves for all workers.
(d) Safety full-body harness for workers working at heights.
(e) Safety goggles & welding shield for gas cutting & welding operations.
(f) Earplugs for workers working in the noisy areas.
(g) Safety apron & face mask for workers working at chemical & dust polluted areas.
13.4 The Service Provider shall send to the UPCA, details of any accident occurring on the Site or otherwise affecting the Works as soon as possible after its occurrence and, in the case of a fatality or serious accident, shall notify the UPCA immediately. Besides, a detailed Accident Report shall form a part of the MPR.
13.5 All costs and expenses arising out of or relating to safety requirements shall be borne by the Service Provider to the extent such costs and expenses are for the Works and Services included in its Scope of Services.
13.6 The Service Provider shall frame appropriate rules and codes for securing the safety of the employees/ workmen/ officials/ personnel of the Service Provider and strictly implement the same on all employees/ workmen/ officials/ personnel of the Service Provider.
