Scheduling Annual Leave. 1. Annual leave should be scheduled in advance. An employee must submit a leave request in WebTA to his/her immediate supervisor or designee normally at least three (3) working days prior to the absence. The employee has a responsibility to comply with this requirement; however, an employee request made less than three (3) days will be considered and may be approved. Failure to request annual leave in advance shall not be the sole basis for a denial of such a request. 2. Emergency leave is annual leave not scheduled in advance. Employees on a fixed 8-hour or compressed work schedule must attempt to directly contact their supervisor or their designee within the first hour of the employee’s tour of duty, or as soon as possible thereafter, in order to request and obtain approval for their use of annual leave for that day. Employees on an IFP or Flexible schedule must attempt to directly contact their supervisor or their designee by 12:00 noon, or as soon as possible thereafter, in order to request and obtain authorization for the use of annual leave for that day.

Scheduling Annual Leave a. Twelve-month Employees are eligible to apply to take annual leave as it is accumulated. Leave taken that exceeds accruals is leave without pay and must be approved by the employee’s supervisor.
