Section 7.8.1 Clause Samples
Section 7.8.1. All hours compensated in excess of eight (8) hours per day or forty (40) hours per week will 3 be paid at a rate of one and one-half (1-1/2) times the employee's base rate.
Section 7.8.1. 16 The parties agree to abide by all laws relating to drug and alcohol testing in connection with 17 CDL license regulations. Testing will be conducted by the ESD 105 consortium or another 18 outside contractor. Personnel selected for the random drug and alcohol testing shall be paid for 19 one hour at their regular rate.
Section 7.8.1. Hours worked in excess of eight (8) hours per day or forty (40) hours per work week shall be 9 compensated at the rate of one and one-half (1½) times the employee's base hourly rate, except 10 employees working an alternate schedule as described in Section 7.8.2 and bus drivers. 11 Employees working an alternate schedule shall be compensated at the rate of one and one-half 12 (1½) times the employee’s base hourly rate for hours worked in excess of ten (10) per day or 13 forty (40) per work week. Bus drivers shall be compensated at one and one-half (1½) times 14 their base hourly rate for hours worked in excess of forty (40) per work week. Bus drivers shall 15 be compensated at twice their base hourly rate for hours worked in excess of forty-eight (48) 16 per work week. Employees, other than bus drivers, who work in excess of twelve (12) hours 17 per day or forty-eight (48) hours per week shall be compensated at twice the employee's base 18 hourly rate. Drivers shall not be exempted from regular route packs on the basis of overtime 19 liability. 21 If an employee works over eight (8) hours in one (1) day, but if it is two (2) separate jobs, the 22 overtime rule does not apply. Overtime shall only apply if the combination of jobs runs into 23 over forty (40) hours worked per week or if an employee works over eight (8) hours in one (1) 24 day doing the same job.
Section 7.8.1. 23 Extra work shall be assigned on a seniority basis of those signing up for the work. The exceptions to 24 this are:
Section 7.8.1. 29 All hours worked by direction of the District in excess of forty (40) hours per week shall be 30 compensated at one and one-half (1½) times the employee’s base hourly rate.
Section 7.8.1. 26 Day of departure and return, if preempted: driver will be guaranteed their regular home to 27 school bid day, if total driving is less than regular home to school bid.
Section 7.8.1. Job sharing is the only circumstance where a secretarial position will be less than full time, 25 eight (8) hours per day. Unless a part-time position is required due to funding. Before 26 implementation, the Association will be notified of any changes.
Section 7.8.1. The District will designate two (2) days specifically for required trainings. During these 33 designated training days, employees will not perform their regular work duties.
Section 7.8.1. 44 Employees who work less than 260 days losing paid time because of inclement weather late 45 start will make up such lost paid time at the direction of the employee’s immediate supervisor.
Section 7.8.1. 5 Seniority provisions shall be applicable to eligible substitute and/or temporary employees as 6 follows:
8 A. A seniority list based on total days worked within a job classification shall be 9 established.
11 B. Eligible employees as herein provided shall earn a hiring preference within job 12 classification for all new or open positions not filled by regular employees, provided they 13 can demonstrate a capability to perform the job.
15 C. The District office shall develop a method of calling substitutes who have met the thirty 16 (30) day requirement for eligibility which will provide an equal chance for all to receive 17 assignments.
19 D. Substitutes for regular bus drivers will be contacted by the District on a rotating 20 schedule. Substitutes for the kindergarten and activity routes, as well as out-of-town bid 21 trips, will follow a rotating schedule of regular drivers first, and secondly, the substitute 22 drivers. Only substitutes who are approved by the Transportation supervisor to drive out- 23 of-town trips will be contacted.
25 E. Seniority earned as a temporary or substitute employee under this provision shall not be 26 transferable to a regular position.
