SUBSISTENCE PAY Sample Clauses

The SUBSISTENCE PAY clause defines the terms under which an individual, typically an employee or contractor, receives a daily or periodic allowance to cover basic living expenses such as meals and lodging while performing duties away from their usual place of residence or work. This clause outlines eligibility criteria, the amount payable, and any conditions or limitations, such as maximum allowable amounts or required documentation for reimbursement. Its core practical function is to ensure that personnel are fairly compensated for out-of-pocket expenses incurred due to work-related travel, thereby preventing financial hardship and clarifying reimbursement procedures.
