Common use of Crib Breaks Clause in Contracts

Crib Breaks. 18.3.1 Where an FTM is required to work more than two hours overtime (for flat rate FTMs overtime is outside their rostered hours) after their rostered ceasing time for ordinary hours, Monday to Sunday, the FTM will be entitled to an unpaid crib break of 30 minutes prior to the overtime commencing. A base rate FTM who is required to work through their crib break will be paid 30 minutes at the overtime rate of time and a half in lieu of the crib break. Where a flat rate FTM is required to work through a crib break their ordinary flat rate of pay shall apply. 18.3.2 Where an FTM does not work ordinary hours on a Saturday or a Sunday and is required to work more than 8 hours overtime (for flat rate FTMs overtime is time outside their rostered time) on either Saturday or Sunday, the FTM will be entitled to an unpaid crib break of 30 minutes prior to the overtime commencing. Base rate FTMs who are required to work through their crib break will be paid 30 minutes at the overtime rate of double time in lieu of the crib break. Where a flat rate FTM is required to work through a crib break their ordinary flat rate of pay shall apply. 18.3.3 An FTM required to work overtime (for flat rate FTMs overtime is hours outside the rostered hours) on a Saturday, Sunday or RDO, shall be entitled to the following: (a) A 20 minute paid crib break after each five hours worked, if the work is scheduled to continue after the break. (b) For a base rate FTM payment for the crib break shall be at the applicable overtime rate, as prescribed by clause 14.3. (c) A second meal break of 20 minutes if working 8 hours or more. Base rate FTMs shall be paid the second meal break at the applicable overtime rate, as prescribed by clause 14.3. (d) Subsequent paid meal breaks, 20 minutes in duration, at 4 hour intervals. (e) The crib breaks will be taken at a mutually agreed time between the Company and the majority of FTMs affected. To meet individual and Company needs, the Company an individual FTM may agree to take crib breaks at a time other than that determined by the majority.
