Granting of Leaves. Professional Development Leaves shall be granted by the Board itself during the academic year preceding the year during which the leave is to be taken. The Board shall appropriate sufficient funds to permit the granting of a sufficient number of leaves to enable the equivalent of 6 percent of contract and regular faculty employees to be on leave during an academic year. The Board may grant additional quarters of leave at its discretion.
Granting of Leaves. 8 The authority to grant leaves of absence rests with the Superintendent, with the approval of the 9 Board. Upon expiration of the leave, the individual will be offered the same job if available or, if 10 unavailable, a similar position. An Employee who takes a leave of absence under Sections F-K 11 below and who claims a change of circumstances prior to the scheduled conclusion of the leave, 12 may apply for reinstatement and may be placed by the District for the remainder of the leave 13 period as deemed appropriate by the District.
Granting of Leaves. A. The authorization of a leave of absence without pay is a matter of administrative discretion. The Employer will decide in each individual case if a leave of absence is to be granted. B. The granting of any leave of absence is subject to approval of the Employer. Except for emergencies, employees will advise the Employer sixty (60) days prior to commencement of the desired leave so that the various departmental functions may proceed properly. C. Upon completion of a leave of absence, the employee is to be returned to the position formerly occupied, or to a similar position if the employee's former position no longer exists. Any replacement in the position while an employee is on leave will be terminated upon the reinstatement of the employee from leave. The terminated employee may be considered for other vacancies. D. An employee may return to work before the scheduled expiration of leave as requested by the employee and agreed to by the Employer. If an employee fails to return to work at the expiration of an approved leave of absence, such employee, absent extenuating circumstances, shall be removed from his position and shall not receive seniority time for the period of the leave.
Granting of Leaves. The granting of any leave of absence will be discretionary with the Employer except as provided in this Article.
Granting of Leaves. The Board shall not unreasonably refuse a request in the granting of a leave. The teacher shall receive a written response from the Board within thirty days. In the event a request has been refused, the Board shall indicate the reasons.

  • Taking of leave (a) Annual leave shall be given and shall be taken within a period of six months after the date when the right to annual leave accrued; provided that the giving and taking of such leave may be postponed by mutual agreement between the parties for a further period not exceeding six months. (b) Where an employee requests, annual leave can be taken in single days. (c) The employer shall provide a response within a reasonable timeframe giving consideration to the urgency of the application to an employee’ application for annual leave.

  • Extension of Leave 4 If an extension of the leave is required, a request for the extension must be 5 submitted on the Leave Request Form at least five days in advance of the leave 6 expiration. Consideration of an extension will be based on the same criteria as 7 the original request. Failure to return to work at the expiration of the leave may 8 result in termination.

  • Duration of Leave An eligible female employee may apply for pregnancy leave, to commence after the 22nd week of pregnancy for a duration of up to 17 weeks. The pregnancy leave of an employee who is not entitled to take parental leave ends on the later of the day that is seventeen weeks after the pregnancy leave began or the day that is six weeks after the birth, still-birth or miscarriage.

  • Granting of Easements If no Event of Default under this Project Lease shall have happened and be continuing, the Tenant may, at any time or times, (a) grant easements, licenses and other rights or privileges in the nature of easements with respect to any property included in the Project, free from any rights of the Issuer or the Owner, or (b) release existing easements, licenses, rights-of-way and other rights or privileges, all with or without consideration and upon such terms and conditions as the Tenant shall determine, and the Issuer agrees, to the extent that it may legally do so, that it will execute and deliver any instrument necessary or appropriate to confirm and grant or release any such easement, license, right-of-way or other right or privilege or any such agreement or other arrangement, upon receipt by the Issuer of: (1) a copy of the instrument of grant or release or of the agreement or other arrangement, (2) a written application signed by the Authorized Tenant Representative requesting such instrument, and (3) a certificate executed by the Tenant stating (A) that such grant or release is not detrimental to the proper conduct of the business of the Tenant, and (B) that such grant or release will not impair the effective use or interfere with the efficient and economical operation of the Project and will not materially adversely affect the security of the Owner. Any consideration received by the Tenant for the grant or release must be paid to the Bank to be deposited in the Debt Service Fund and used to redeem Bonds at the earliest practicable date, at their principal amount, plus accrued interest, without premium. If the instrument of grant shall so provide, any such easement or right and the rights of such other parties thereunder shall be superior to the rights of the Issuer and the Owner and shall not be affected by any termination of this Project Lease or default on the part of the Tenant hereunder. If no Event of Default shall have happened and be continuing, any payments or other consideration received by the Tenant for any such grant or with respect to or under any such agreement or other arrangement shall be and remain the property of the Tenant, but, in the event of the termination of this Project Lease because of an Event of Default, all rights then existing of the Tenant with respect to or under such grant shall inure to the benefit of and be exercisable by the Issuer.

  • Commencement of Leave Parental leave must commence no later than the first anniversary date of the birth or adoption of the child or of the date on which the child comes into the actual care and custody of the employee. The employee will decide when his or her parental leave is to commence.
