The "Joint Research Projects" clause defines the terms and conditions under which two or more parties collaborate on research initiatives. It typically outlines the scope of the joint research, the roles and responsibilities of each party, how results and intellectual property will be managed, and the allocation of resources or funding. By establishing clear guidelines for cooperation and ownership, this clause ensures that all parties understand their obligations and rights, thereby minimizing disputes and facilitating effective collaboration.
Joint Research Projects. 5.1 In the event a joint research project is proposed by either party, such research effort shall be carefully scrutinized by both parties to evaluate the need for the joint effort, the qualifications of the proposed participating faculty members, and the location of the research activity. If a decision is made by both parties to approve the proposed project as a possible joint effort, both institutions agree to actively seek outside funding for the proposed joint research project prior to their final approval and implementation of the joint project.
5.2 In such joint projects between the two institutions, care shall be taken to assure that there will be parity in the numbers and institutional ranks of the personnel involved.
5.3 Before any activity may commence on any joint project, it shall be mutually agreed in writing that any publication resulting therefrom shall be credited to a previously agreed-upon author(s), provided that each of such person(s) participate in the project.
5.4 If the parties agree that the proposed joint research project mutually beneficial and appropriate, a Program Agreement shall be executed outlining the terms and conditions of the project.
Joint Research Projects. Grants for Joint Research Projects (JRPs) are aimed at promoting collaborative projects with clearly defined goals, involving at least one partner based in UK and one based in Vietnam. Applications should describe ambitious research and propose innovative approaches. The research is to be carried out at the research facilities involved; reciprocal visits and short stays in UK for researchers from Vietnam and vice versa are possible within the scope of a JRP. The proposed duration of project is 03 (three) years.
Joint Research Projects. For the joint research projects the cooperation will be conducted as follows:
2.1 The Parties shall promote scientific collaboration in the following research areas:
2.2 Both Parties will support up to three (3) joint research projects implemented on specific subjects, as stated in Article 2, point 2.1. with the participation of scientists from each Party.
2.3 The call for proposals of joint research projects will be announced simultaneously by the Parties in April every three (3) years. The first call for proposals will be announced in April 3, 2023 with a deadline of May 31, 2023. The selected joint research projects will be in place for a duration of three (3) years.
2.4 The joint research projects will be expected to start on January 1, 2024
2.5 Both parties will also:
a) gather all the applications from their respective sides,
b) review them separately, and
c) exchange prioritized lists by the mid of September.
d) jointly select the joint research projects to be funded on the basis of financial availability and the provisions of the Scientific Cooperation Agreement.
e) finance its own team of researchers.
2.6 The list of joint research projects mutually approved will be made public once available.
Joint Research Projects. (a) The Participants will issue open calls as they may jointly decide to support joint scientific projects based on mutual interest and intend to develop new knowledge and technologies in the areas of cooperation.
(b) The Participants will receive project proposals through a joint Request for Proposals (RFP) they jointly approve based on their respective evaluations. The Participants will jointly decide the RFP timeline and the project evaluation process.
Joint Research Projects. The Parties will agree on a case-by-case basis on the rights, titles and interests in and to any Creation(s) made in conjunction with or as a result of joint research projects, prior to engaging into the respective projects.
Joint Research Projects. The duration of a joint research project is normally up to three years. However, extension may be granted, if deemed appropriate. Joint research projects are carried out, in principle, by two research teams, one of each side.
Joint Research Projects. Subject to the availability of funds, each side shall support the travel fares of its own country’s research team to the place of work, while the receiving side shall support the living costs of the counterpart’s researchers for the duration of their cooperation visit at the partner site. Furthermore, the Russian side will support the research activities of Russian researchers according to the relevant guidelines of RFBR. When appropriate, other financial arrangements can be agreed on. It is hoped that, in addition to this funding to cover the costs of visiting the counterpart's country, participating scientists will obtain research funds in their own country.
Joint Research Projects. The cooperating institutions will prepare joint research projects stipulating in each case: aims of joint research project, forms of cooperation, obligations of both sides, programme of the research project, scientists responsible for the implementation of the project.
a) The joint research projects shall have the approval of the two Academies.
b) The two Academies will support the joint research projects with the participation o f scientists from each country or region,
c) The duration of the joint research projects will be up to three years,
d) The sending Academy will bear the international travel costs of the visiting researchers and the receiving Academy will cover their daily allowances, accommodations, and domestic travel while in the host country. Each Academy will bear a limited amount of research expenses for the participants from its own country or region,
e) The number of joint research projects to be supported each year will be mutually approved in advance by both Academies.

The partnership will enable access to diverse research facilities, funding opportunities, and expertise, driving impactful discoveries and solutions.

2.3 The call for proposals of joint research projects will be announced simultaneously by the Parties every three years. The selected joint research projects will be in place for a duration of three years.
2.4 The joint research projects will be expected to start on January 1, 2023.
2.5 Both parties, CNR and MTA, will:
a) gather all the applications from their respective sides;
b) review them separately; and
c) exchange prioritized lists by the beginning of December 2022;
d) select the joint research projects to be funded on the basis of financial availability and the provisions of the Agreement on Scientific Cooperation;
e) finance their own team of researchers.
2.6 The list of joint research projects mutually approved will be made public once available as Annex 1 to this Cooperative Programme.
2.7 Special eligibility provisions by the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (MTA): - Financial contribution for joint research projects can only be granted to a research unit certified as “MTA centre of excellence”; - Principal investigators from the side of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences are required to be employed by a research unit certified as “MTA centre of excellence”.
