The "Negotiating Unit" clause defines the specific group of employees or job classifications that are represented by a union or bargaining agent for the purposes of collective bargaining. In practice, this clause outlines which employees are included or excluded from the bargaining process, such as specifying that only full-time production workers are covered, while supervisors or temporary staff are not. Its core function is to ensure clarity and prevent disputes by clearly identifying who is subject to the terms of the collective agreement and who is not.
NEGOTIATING UNIT. Neither party in any negotiations shall have any control over the selection of the negotiating or bargaining representatives of the other party.

A long-term substitute is defined as a substitute teacher who is employed in place of a regular appointed teacher who is absent for a semester or more due to a leave of absence.
NEGOTIATING UNIT. It the entity composed by the rank-and-file employees employed by the AGENCY with salary grades 22 and below not otherwise disqualified by law and without regard to sex, race, and nationality, religious or political affiliation.

NEGOTIATING UNIT. Included: All regularly scheduled full and part-time employees in the following titles: Senior Stenographer, Senior Typist, Senior Account Clerk, Account Clerk, Library Clerk, Typist, Switchboard Receptionist, Clerk, Computer Technician, Computer Services Assistant, Network Systems Support Aide, Teaching Assistant, Teacher Aide, 1:1 Teacher Aide, Senior Custodian, Stores Clerk, Custodian, Cleaner, Courier, Groundskeeper, Head Mechanic, Automotive Mechanic 1 and II, Head Bus Driver, Senior Bus Driver, Bus Driver, Bus Monitor, clerk Typist, Senior Maintenance Mechanic, Maintenance Worker, Food Service Helper, Registered Nurse, Cook Manager, School Monitor. Excluded: All management and confidential employees and all other employees.
NEGOTIATING UNIT. Section 2.1 This Agreement shall cover and apply to all full-time employees employed by the City of Syracuse in one of the job classifications set forth in Appendix A. of the agreement.
Section 2.2 It is agreed that the following employees shall be excluded from this negotiating unit: all department heads and their immediate deputies and all temporary, seasonal, casual, confidential and managerial employees, pursuant to Section 201.7 of the ▇▇▇▇▇▇ law.
Section 2.3 Temporary, Casual and Seasonal Employees Any temporary, casual, or seasonal full-time employee who occupies any bargaining unit title covered by this Agreement for a minimum of fifty-two (52) cumulative weeks, within a continuous 24 month period, will receive all benefits and rights provided by this Agreement, and will also be considered to have completed their contractual probationary period as provided by the Agreement, except that the following benefits for employees covered by this Section will accrue or become effective as follows:
NEGOTIATING UNIT. The Corporation-Employee negotiating unit in accordance with the Civil Service Law and Act Number 84-1967 of the Board of Supervisors of Westchester County as amended to which the Agreement applies consists of all Corporation Employees, excluding:
1. All Department Heads, Division Heads and managerial/confidential employees.
2. All Employees employed by the Corporation as registered nurses.
3. All interns, residents, chief residents and fellows, both medical and dental, employed by the Corporation.
4. Temporary Employees (i.e. who at the time of hire have knowledge that their employment does not constitute part of the regular Corporation workforce, but is limited to a special project with a defined duration).
5. All Employees represented by the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, Chauffeurs, Warehousemen and Helpers of America, AFL-CIO, Local 456.

1.1.1. The Board of Education of the Westhill Central School District acknowledges the order of the Public Employment Relations Board in Case Number C-3674 which certified the Teamsters Local 317 affiliated with the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, Chauffeurs, Warehousemen and Helpers of America, AFL-CIO.
