The Packing and Loading clause defines the responsibilities and standards for preparing goods for shipment and loading them onto transport vehicles. It typically specifies who is responsible for packaging the items securely, labeling them appropriately, and ensuring they are loaded in a manner that prevents damage during transit. This clause ensures that goods are handled properly before and during shipment, minimizing the risk of loss or damage and clarifying accountability between the parties involved.
Packing and Loading. Agent will carry out the packing, the loading and securing of each shipment in accordance with FAIM FIDI standards. Obtain optimum density by using all available space and disassembling commonly goods. Create legible packing list identifying all goods in the shipment with an accurate description of carton contents and full identification of appliances and electrical items. All furniture must be listed denoting condition at time of wrapping, photographs of pre damage existing conditions will be sent. Crew leaders must write their names and sign the packing list in the corresponding section of the packing list. iv) All furniture must be listed denoting condition at time of wrapping; photographs of pre-damage existing conditions shall be taken and sent.
v) Crew Leaders must write their names and sign the inventory list (packing list) in the corresponding section of the packing list.
vi) Inventory numbers must be written or attached on the exterior of wrapping/packing materials.
vii) Under no circumstances our agents can accept PBO (“Packed by owner”) listed on an inventory or included in a Shipment. Any carton presented to a Packing Crew as a PBO must have its contents inspected, ensuring that the carton contains no restricted items and there is no threat to the security of a ship, plane, or other vehicle on which it is to be transported.

Packing and Loading. All packing and loading should be performed in line with industry best practice
a) At least one member of the crew should be fluent in English language and the crew should be briefed about all necessary detail regarding the move.
b) All crew members should be uniformed, wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) conforming to local regulations and carrying identification. Where ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ have provided uniform this must be worn and kept clean and tidy at all times. Any damaged uniform will be replaced on request to ensure representatives remain presentable.
c) No alcohol or non-prescription drugs may be consumed during the course of the move. Likewise, no team member should smoke in a client’s house or anywhere on their property (this includes gardens, driveways, and the street immediately outside the property).
d) There must be a designated ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ for each move. The ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ should introduce themselves to the client stating their name, that they are carrying out the move on behalf of ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ and they should introduce the team before carrying out a walkthrough with the transferee prior to any work commencing.
e) The ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ should carry out a risk assessment and any necessary building protection prior to beginning packing and loading. Any existing property damage should be noted and where possible photographed. Full protection should be used on all floors (carpet, wood and tile), stair banisters should be thoroughly protected.
f) A clear and accurate inventory should be created identifying all items in the shipment with an accurate description of contents and their condition. This should be signed on each page by a member of the crew and the transferee (or their representative).
g) All electrical items listed on the inventory should include manufacturer name, model name/number, and serial number (if available).
h) All items should be clearly labelled.
i) Any wood packing materials should conform to ISPM regulations.
j) Any restricted, prohibited or hazardous items (including alcohol, food, firearms or jewellery) should be notified to the ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ coordinator before packing as inclusion may be refused. ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ wants to make sure all our moves are safe and in compliance with Governmental regulations. (a) The agent must not pack or pick up any items without written instructions from DECAPACK to do so.

(b) Create legible packing list (if a language other than English is used for creating the packing list, a translation into English must be supplied) identifying all Goods in the Shipment with an accurate description of carton contents (e.g. do not write “miscellaneous” or vague descriptions such as “kitchen items”), and full identification of appliances and electrical items, this identification MUST include make, model and serial number according to the destination.
(c) All furniture must be listed denoting condition at time of wrapping, photographs of pre- existing damage to any items must be sent.
(d) Crew Leaders must write their names and sign the packing list in the corresponding section.
