The Peer Assistance Program clause establishes a framework for providing support and guidance to individuals within an organization, typically through structured peer-to-peer interactions. Peer Assistance Program. An experienced teacher beyond the first year of teaching who is encountering teaching problems or seeks to improve his or her teaching skills, may request or an administrator may offer to be assigned a consulting teacher. All parties (teacher/administrator/consulting teacher) will agree to participation in this program. Peer Assistance does not apply to a teacher in the Mentor Program. The building administrator will notify the RACT building representative of a teacher’s participation in this program. Observations and feedback given by consulting teachers are non- evaluative and will not become a part of any teacher file or teacher evaluation. The consulting teacher will be compensated 3% of the base (pro-rated as necessary). Release time will be made available for the consulting teacher to conduct observations and it is up to administration to make arrangements to cover the consulting teacher’s class or assignment.
Peer Assistance Program. 13 The Peer Assistance Program shall allow for multiple teachers who will work in cooperation 14 with the employee’s supervisor to define specific needs and provide assistance to the 15 employee in addressing those teaching needs. The mentoring may include, but need not be 16 limited to, observation of the employee by the mentor teacher and observation of the 17 mentor teacher in his or her own class or in preparing and providing a lesson to the 18 employee’s class. An employee shall be entitled to access the Peer Assistance Program on a 19 voluntary basis by his or her own initiative or based upon the recommendation of his/her
Peer Assistance Program. A Peer Assistance/Participating Teachers
1. Permanent classroom teachers may request assistance with their teaching practice through voluntary peer assistance. At the District’s discretion, the District may assign a Support Teacher Provider to assist the teacher receiving voluntary peer assistance. The District may also refer permanent classroom teachers to peer assistance.
2. Any documentation of the teacher receiving peer assistance will remain the property of the teacher receiving peer assistance and will not be placed in the teacher’s personnel file. All communication and documentation between the teacher receiving peer assistance and the Support Teacher Provider will be confidential and will not be shared with other individuals, including the site principal unless the Support Teacher Provider has written consent from the teacher receiving peer assistance.
3. With the approval of the site administrator, Participating Teachers shall be released two (2) days per semester to participate in the Program and receive assistance and guidance from their Support Teacher Provider.
Peer Assistance Program. 7 The Banning Unified School District (“District”) and the Banning Teachers 8 Association (“Association”) hereby mutually agree to participate in a Peer 9 Assistance Program. This program will be subject to the following terms and 10 conditions and detailed as follows.
Peer Assistance Program. A. Purpose The Association and the Superintendent may by mutual agreement establish a Peer Assistance Program that allows exemplary teachers to assist permanent and new teachers to develop as professionals. The focus of this Program is to improve instruction, including subject matter knowledge, strategies and teaching methods. The major emphasis of the Peer Assistance Program in the Alameda County Office shall reside in the voluntary aspects of the program as outlined below.
Peer Assistance Program. The Peer Assistance Program (“PAP”) is intended to work in conjunction with and support of the EAP and Critical Incidents Program. The PAP is based on the expectation that employees experiencing problems at home or work are more likely to make use of the EAP if their initial contact is with a peer rather than an outside counselor, and that the Peer Assistants’ familiarity with the workforce and the work place enhance the prospect for early intervention. There are currently three fulltime Peer Assistants and up to eight (8) volunteers drawn from the ranks of SFMTA employees to whom the Contractor will provide clinical supervision. The Contractor shall provide the following services for the Peer Assistance Program.
1. Establish guidelines for program compliance including oversight of the work, client contact and training.
2. Clinical supervision of the Peer Assistants, including the presence of a qualified program director on-site for no less than twenty hours each week, and supplemented by twenty-four hour telephone access when not on site.
3. Ongoing training of Peer Assistants so that each may obtain certification as an Employee Assistance Professional.
4. Coordinate Union and SFMTA joint outreach programs.
5. Provide SFMTA employees twenty-four hour program access by telephone to a licensed, fully qualified clinician.
6. Develop and adhere to documented internal quality management standards that are subject to review and audit by the SFMTA.
7. Coordinate the selection and training of Peer Assistants.
8. Create and maintain a statistical database by which the SFMTA may evaluate the effectiveness of the PAP and generate reports on and audit program service statistics.

Peer Assistance Program. The Association and the District agree that the purpose of teacher unit member involvement in the Peer Assistance and Review process is to enhance teaching and other services provided by unit members performance through the rendering of assistance. Consulting Unit MembersTeachers and teacher members of the Peer Assistance and Review Panel shall not be involved in the formal evaluation procedures as defined in Article 9. This program is to be closely coordinated with other District programs for training and assistance to beginning unit membersteachers.
