Potholing Sample Clauses

The Potholing clause defines the requirements and procedures for identifying and verifying the location of underground utilities or structures before excavation or construction work begins. Typically, this involves the contractor performing exploratory digging, such as hand digging or vacuum excavation, at specified locations to physically expose and confirm the depth and position of existing utilities. This process helps prevent accidental damage to underground infrastructure, thereby reducing the risk of costly repairs, project delays, and safety hazards during construction activities.
Potholing. The quantity, location and depth of potholes will be determined during the design phase. The potholing sub-consultant will be immediately contracted for disposal of hazardous soils associated with the 3 borings near the I-8 crossing. The Consultant shall obtain all necessary encroachment permits for subsurface investigations.
Potholing. We will prepare recommendations and perform potholing, as necessary, to verify the depths and locations of critical utilities and record the information on cut sheets for use during design. We will incorporate this information into our design and show locations and information on the final set of construction documents. We have included a pothole budget for approximately eight (8) locations. This may change once the alignments have been selected and we have a clear understanding of the precise location of the proposed facilities.
Potholing. Prior to commencement of any tree replacement or ▇▇▇▇▇ grinding, Contractor shall physically locate, verifying horizontal and vertical locations, and map existing underground facilities within the work area that are marked by Underground Service Alert (USA) or shown on the drawings. Contractor shall protect all such facilities from damage due to construction activities for the duration of the project. Contractor shall deliver a plan with the location of each potholed utility to the Engineer. Repair of damage to such facilities shall be at the Contractor's expense and shall be considered as integral to this item of work. Contractor shall be responsible for following all applicable rules and regulations concerning work in the vicinity of underground and/or overhead utilities. The cost for potholing shall be included in the unit prices bid for the various contract items, and no additional compensation will be allowed therefor.
Potholing. Desired information outlined below shall be provided in table format to the District upon completion of potholing work.

The Consultant and excavation contractor shall be responsible for restoration and clean-up of all work sites. 4.1.4 All utility excavations shall be tied to the horizontal and vertical control information provided by the City’s survey for this project. A summary shall be provided to include:
Potholing. Any potholing authorized by this License shall be subject to the direction of City’s Construction Inspector. Potholing using the soft dig method (vacuum soil extraction system) is preferred. If Licensee wishes to use any other mechanical method such as digging with a backhoe, License must submit a written request to the SFPUC at least five (5) business days prior to commencing such work and obtain the SFPUC’s prior written consent. Notwithstanding the foregoing, the last two feet (2’) above the top of the pipe must be dug manually, without the use of any machines.
Potholing. VacX will provide potholing services for the proposed site improvements. The fee estimate is based on VacX providing potholing services for up to 10 potholes.
Potholing. Perform vacuum excavation of up to12 potholes at proposed storm drain structures and up to 2 potholes that are 1' X 1' to a 10' depth to clear for future signal poles. The utility will be exposed using vacuum excavation. The point of excavation be marked by others. Measurements will be taken to the top of the utility. Excavated material will be removed from site, the pothole will be backfilled with CDF slurry to the surface in asphalt. Potholes in concrete will be saw cut and replaced with a 1' X 1' PCC patch.
Potholing. 8 Potholing of both high and low risk utilities, including all utilities that could be in conflict with the 9 improvements, shall be anticipated by the ENGINEER. The ENGINEER shall prepare potholing exhibits as 10 needed to adequately locate underground utilities, shall enter into a contract with a licensed contractor for the 11 potholing of utilities upon the receipt of three (3) competitive bids, shall ensure that appropriate permits are 12 obtained from all appropriate jurisdictions prior to the start of work, shall notify the utility companies of the 13 pending potholing work, shall ensure that the utility horizontal and vertical data is collected by COUNTY 14 survey, shall update the potholing exhibit with the collected data, and shall note known utility conflicts on the 15 potholing exhibit. 17 The contract between the ENGINEER and the potholing contractor shall require that the potholing contractor’s 18 insurance policies name the ENGINEER, the COUNTY of Riverside, and any other affected jurisdictions or 19 facility owner as additionally insured with respect to the potholing contractor’s general liability, excess liability 20 and automobile liability policy. The potholing information and plan shall be submitted to the City after completion of that task. Potholes in paved areas shall be repaired per City Standards. However, potholes within the proposed pavement construction area may be considered for an alternate repair treatment, at the discretion of the City. It shall be the responsibility of the Consultant to notify Underground Service Alert prior to the start of any subsurface exploration work.
