Project Implementation Unit. (i) The PIU shall be staffed with qualified and experienced personnel in adequate numbers, including, inter alia, a coordinator, an accountant, a procurement specialist, and an assistant coordinator, all with qualifications and experience satisfactory to the Association. (ii) Without limitation upon the provisions of sub-paragraph (b)(i) of this Section, the PIU shall be responsible for day-to-day Project coordination and implementation, including: (A) preparing proposed Annual Work Plans for inclusion in the Project, and updating the Procurement Plans and related budgets and consolidated Project reports, and sending same to CSRP; (B) developing a communication and outreach strategy; (C) updating and maintaining the Project Management Information System located at the MoF; and (D) monitoring and evaluating the Project and preparing Project progress reports and monitoring and evaluation reports for the meetings of the Steering Committee.
Project Implementation Unit. (a) The Recipient shall establish and thereafter, throughout the period of implementation of the Project, maintain within the Ministry of State of Labor, Social Affairs and Solidarity, a unit with terms of reference and resources acceptable to the Association, supported by qualified and experienced staff in adequate numbers, to be responsible for: (i) managing all Project activities; (ii) maintaining Project accounts and producing financial reports; and (iii) monitoring, evaluating and reporting on Project implementation and impacts. (b) Without limitation upon the foregoing, the Recipient shall recruit, in accordance with the provisions of Section III of this Schedule 2, and assign to the PIU, and thereafter ensure that the PIU is at all times staffed with, the following staff, whose qualifications, experience and terms of reference shall be satisfactory to the Association: (i) a Project coordinator; (ii) two procurement specialists; (iii) a financial management specialist; (iv) a monitoring and evaluation specialist; (v) an internal auditor; and (vi) additional administrative support as needed. (c) The staff referred to above in: (i) subparagraph (b) (v) of this Section I.A,2 shall assume his or her duties not later than three (3) months after the Effective Date; and (ii) subparagraphs (b) (iv) and (vi) of this Section I.A.2 shall assume their duties in the PIU not later than six (6) months after the Effective Date.
Project Implementation Unit. The Project Implementing Entity shall maintain a Project Implementing Unit, with staffing and resources satisfactory to the Bank, responsible for assisting the Project Implementing Entity carry out the overall day-to-day implementation and management of the Project, including consolidated financial and procurement management and other Project-related tasks.
Project Implementation Unit. An entity which is directly responsible for implementation of the EMP for the Contract and for monitoring of the progress of its implementation is the Project Implementation Unit (PIU), i.e. State Water Holding Polish Waters in the name of which the the Regional Water Management Authority in Cracow acts. Due to implementation of the OVFM Project, the Project Implementation Office (PIO) was assigned within the PIU structure, which is a separate structure supervised by the President of State Water Holding Polish Waters. This structure is transparent and has a high decisive level, which increases the effectiveness of the Contract implementation. As a part of EMP implementation supervision, the PIO fulfils the following assignments: • monitoring of the EMP implementation progress; • financial management and bookkeeping; • preparation of required reports for the needs of EMP implementation monitoring and coordination of its execution by all services engaged in the EMP implementation. The scope of PIO employees’ duties connected with the fulfilment of supervision over EMP implementation is as follows: • managing, coordinating, and supervising the EMP implemented by the Designer, the Consultant, and the Contractor; • direct supervision over the correct Contract implementation; • cooperation with the PCU; • conducting an administrative and legal supervision over EMP implementation; • verifying the Reports and studies on EMP implementation, as prepared by the Consultant and by the Contractor; • conducting a financial supervision over EMP implementation; • supervising the proper application of formal procedures during implementation of the EMP, as required by the Building Law, Works Contract, the Environmental Protection Law, and others.
Project Implementation Unit. The Project Implementation Unit (PIU) will coordinate the implementation of BESTAP. Without limitation on the foregoing, the PIU will be in charge of preparing the consolidated procurement plan, providing advice on implementation and coordinating the reporting on procurement implementation, and carrying out internal quality assurance systems for procurement in all the Project component implementing agencies.

(c) The PIU shall comprise a technical team with expertise on all relevant disciplines, including without limitation, a general coordinator, an administrative assistant, one focal point, a communication specialist, a senior accountant, an internal controller, an international procurement specialist, a procurement specialist, one administrative and financial management specialist, one environmental specialist, one social safeguards specialist, PBF portal specialist, GBV specialist, GBV international specialist, SEA/SH specialist. (d) No later than one month from Effective Date, the recipient shall retain, an external auditor with qualification and experience satisfactory to the Association.
