Responsibilities of the Employee. 13.1 The Employee is required to: a) Not smoke tobacco on site other than in designated smoking areas. b) Not take or possess alcohol or illegal drugs while at work. If the Employee’s ability to work may be affected by drugs (prescribed or un-prescribed), alcohol, or any other substance they must inform the Employer prior to commencing work. c) Agree to a search of bags, lockers or vehicles by a person authorised by the Employer to conduct such searches. If the teacher cannot come to work for some reason, s/he should inform the school, as well as work in advance with the school to find a suitable substitute. The teacher must also inform the substitute of the components to be taught during his/her absence. If these conditions are not met, the teacher will be considered truant and shall be held responsible for any related losses, financial or otherwise.
