S ection 1. Definition: The term “long-term substitute teacher,” shall mean a teacher who serves for 11 consecutive days or more for the same teacher. This article shall not apply to casual or day-to-day substitute teachers. This article shall also not apply to a teacher who is given a long-term substitute one-year contract to serve for a teacher who is on an approved leave.

S ection 1. Eligibility: Eligibility for the length of vacation of an employee shall be determined according to the following schedule of contract months.
S ection 1. Number of Weeks Allowed All permanent employees with less than one (1) year’s employment shall receive a vacation leave, with pay, of one (1) day for each month of service, not to exceed ten (10) working days. Except as herein otherwise provided, all permanent employees of the Board for a period of one (1) year, or longer, shall receive ten (10) days vacation with pay. No vacation shall be granted during original probationary period, but if permanent status is obtained, vacation time shall be allowed for time served during probation.

No employee will be disciplined without just cause. When an employee is advised that they will be questioned by Management and there is a reasonable expectation of disciplinary action for that employee, that employee has the right to request the presence of a Union representative. When the employee requests the presence of Union representation the Union representative will be afforded a reasonable opportunity to consult with the employee during the questioning.
