STEWARDS AND ALTERNATE STEWARDS. In each district, employees in the district shall be represented by one District ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ or during his/her absence an Alternate ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇, who shall be a regular employee and working in the district. The District ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ or Alternate ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ shall be notified of scheduled overtime periods. During scheduled overtime periods for more than one employee in his/her district the District ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ or Alternate ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ shall be scheduled to work as long as there is work scheduled in their district that they can perform and shall be so notified and scheduled.
STEWARDS AND ALTERNATE STEWARDS. A. Employees in the bargaining unit shall be represented by one Chief ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ and one Shift ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ who shall be regular Employees working in the bargaining unit.
B. In the absence of the ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ an alternate may be appointed by the Local Union President.
C. The ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇, during his/her working hours and without loss of time and pay may, in his/her own area of jurisdiction only, investigate and present grievances to the Employer. The privilege of the ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ leaving his/her work during working hours without loss of time or pay is subject to the understanding that such time will be devoted to the expeditious handling of grievances and will not be beyond reasonable limits. The ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ shall not leave work for grievance purposes as provided in the grievance procedure without first notifying the Supervisor. The Supervisor shall be provided location, and approximate time off.
D. There shall be no additional payments of any kind to any Employee for time devoted to grievance handling or to bargaining after working hours.
STEWARDS AND ALTERNATE STEWARDS. One ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇, first shift; one ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇, second shift. Additional stewards from the date of this contract will be based on a ratio of one per twenty (20) additional custodians.
STEWARDS AND ALTERNATE STEWARDS. Any concerns over the administration of this provision shall not be subject to the grievance and arbitration procedure. During scheduled overtime periods for more than one employee in a district, if the District ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ or Alternate ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ is not scheduled to work in accordance with the equalization of overtime provision (Article 45) the District ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ or Alternate ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ shall appoint an employee scheduled to work as Acting ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ for that particular overtime period.
STEWARDS AND ALTERNATE STEWARDS. The Employer recognizes the right of the Local Union to designate stewards and alternates from the employees covered by the terms of this Agreement. Such designations shall be limited to one ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ and alternate ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇. The authority of the ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ and alternate so designated by the Local Union shall be limited to, and shall not exceed, the following duties and activities:
A. Local and/or Council Representatives of A.F.S.C.M.E., AFL-CIO shall have access to the premises of the School District at any reasonable time during working hours to investigate grievances and other problems with which they are concerned. The appropriate administrator shall be informed of their presence. The ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ and/or alternate ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ will notify their administrator upon leaving their assignment. They will also notify the administrator of the building to be visited.
B. The investigation and presentation of grievances of employees to the Employer or the Employer’s representative in accordance with the provisions of this Agreement.
C. The ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ and/or alternate may investigate and present grievances to the Employer during his/her regular working hours providing: that the time used for this purpose will not be abused, and stewards or alternate stewards will perform their regularly assigned work at all times.
D. The stewards during their working hours may in accordance with the terms of this article, present grievances to the representative of the Board of Education. The superintendent and/or designee will grant permission and provide sufficient time to the stewards to leave their work during working hours without loss of time or pay subject to the understanding that the time will be devoted to the proper handling of grievances and will not be abused. Any alleged abuse of either party will be a proper subject of a special conference.
STEWARDS AND ALTERNATE STEWARDS. The employees making up the aforementioned group to be represented by the Union may select one ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ for the whole of the School District. Such selection shall, however, be subject to the following conditions
A. The ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ or local union officer shall be a regular employee working in and for the School District.
B. Subject to all the provisions of this Article and the subparagraphs hereof, the ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ may during his/her working hours without loss of time or pay, investigate or present any grievance to the School District. No ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ shall leave his/her place of employment without having first advised the principal of the school within which he/she is working or the Superintendent of Schools as to his/her intention to leave his/her place of employment.
C. No ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ shall be absent from his/her place of employment for more than one (1 ) hour at any one time without specific permission of the Superintendent of Schools, or his designee.
D. In every case requiring the absence of the ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ from his/her place of employment during regular working hours he/she may be asked before the end of the next succeeding working day to make a report in writing to the principal or superintendent; which shall show, among other pertinent facts, what alleged grievance he/she investigated; what persons were involved; where he/she went, the hour during which he/she was absent from his/her regular place of employment; and what action, if any, was taken.
E. Notwithstanding any other terms of this Article or the subparagraphs hereof, the ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ whenever possible shall have the responsibility of performing the whole of his/her regularly assigned work within the time limits during which such work should be performed or completed.
F. The privilege hereby granted to the ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ or a local officer to leave he/her place of work during working hours is conditioned always upon the understanding that the time will be devoted solely to the proper investigation and presentation of genuine bona fide grievances. Any abuse of this privilege granted hereby shall be sufficient cause for the School District to cancel all rights of any ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ to leave his/her work during normal work hours.
STEWARDS AND ALTERNATE STEWARDS. There shall be one (1) ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ and one (1) Alternate ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ for each shift, or department, where there are at least five (5) employees assigned to work; however, the minimum necessary to qualify for a ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ or Alternate ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ at the Golf Course shall be three (3). Each ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ or Alternate ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ shall be an employee with seniority working within the department he/she represents. If there are a least five (5) employees assigned to work in the department (or three (3) at the Golf Course), the ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ or Alternate ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ shall not be transferred to another department, nor shall any ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ or Alternate ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ work outside of their department during their regular work-day. Either the ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ or Alternate ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ will represent an aggrieved employee if either is available. When both the ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ and Alternate ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ are not available, the aggrieved employee shall be represented by the Grievance Chair or by the President of OUCMT.
