Assignment Process. The Director of Labor Relations Services or successor will assign a University Chief Human Resource Officer, who may appoint a designee, to conduct a Step 3 meeting, or to review the record where no meeting is requested, and render a written response that provides a rationale for the denial or acceptance of the grievance or appeal within the time limits proscribed in this Article. Assignment of a University Chief Human Resource Officer will be on the following rotating basis: Eastern Oregon University, Oregon Institute of Technology, Oregon State University, Portland State University, Southern Oregon University, University of Oregon, and Western Oregon University. No University Chief Human Resource Officer will be assigned to process a Step 3 appeal or grievance involving their University and, therefore, they will be skipped over in the event that they would have been assigned based on the rotating assignment above.

APARTMENT ASSIGNMENT - Georgia Institute of Technology Family Housing Apartment assignments are made based on availability without regard to race, creed, color, or national origin. Assignment priority is based on date of receipt of the Georgia Institute of Technology Department of Housing Application and this signed Contract along with the required prepaid rental and application fees.

ROOM/APARTMENT ASSIGNMENT - Georgia Institute of Technology Department of Housing and Residence Life assignments are made based on availability without regard to race, creed, color, or national origin. Assignment priority is based on the date of receipt of the Georgia Institute of Technology Department of Housing and Residence Life Application and the Contract along with the required prepaid rental and application fees for the following classifications: new first-year students who matriculate to Georgia Institute of Technology Summer 2020, Fall, 2020 or Spring 2021 (hereinafter referred to as “First-Year Students”), new transfer students and new graduate students and the Application Selection Process (for all other students applying for housing). B. ROOM/APARTMENT PREFERENCES - Assignment to a preferred building, room, or apartment is contingent upon availability and is NOT GUARANTEED. If desired space is not available, the student will be assigned any available space. Contracts are not terminated if desired space or style is unavailable. Requests for roommates should be submitted simultaneously by both/all parties and is not guaranteed. C. CONSOLIDATION/RELOCATION - Georgia Institute of Technology Department of Housing and Residence Life reserves the right to make temporary assignments and to assign or reassign accommodations for the benefit of Georgia Institute of Technology, the Student, Georgia Institute of Technology Department of Housing and Residence Life, which includes the right to reassign students for the purpose of consolidation, disciplinary reasons, to schedule unoccupied rooms for guests' usage throughout the year, or other reasons as reasonably determined necessary by the Department of Housing and Residence Life. D. ROOM/APARTMENT CHANGES – Prior to move-in, room/apartment changes can be made and/or requested online, or in person by contacting the Assignments Office. Following move-in and through the first week of the semester, room/apartment changes can be requested by contacting the Assignments Office. Commencing the second week of the semester and throughout the remainder of the semester, room/apartment changes require authorization from the appropriate hall director.
Assignment Process. All residents must be admitted to the University for assignment eligibility and enroll and maintain at least six (6) credit hours.

This Rental Agreement is not assignable without the written consent of Landlord; this Rental Agreement shall be voidable at the option of Landlord should an assignment take place without the Landlord's written consent. This Rental Agreement and the laws, rules, policies and documents referenced therein, are the entire agreement between the parties, and no amendments thereto are binding unless signed by both parties. Where there is a vacant space, it must be maintained in a manner by the occupant(s) that will allow a student to move in immediately. Georgia Institute of Technology Department of Housing reserves the rights to make temporary assignments and to assign or reassign accommodations for the benefit of Georgia Institute of Technology, the Student, Georgia Institute of Technology Department of Housing, or a living unit. D. APARTMENT CHANGES - Apartment changes require authorization from the Assistant Director of Assignments or Central Housing or designee. There is a $500.00 transfer fee for any apartment changes requested by the Student, for reasons other than a change in family status.

(iii) Where two (2) or more applicants possess relatively equal qualifications for a position, seniority as defined in 13.01 (f) shall be the determining factor. (iv) Where two (2) or more applicants possess relatively equal qualifications for a position, a TA who has been formally granted leave from duties for off- campus research or academic exchange (as per Article 13.01(b)(i) of this collective agreement) will be given preference. (v) Where two (2) or more applicants possess relatively equal qualifications and equal seniority, preference will be given to an applicant holding an international work or student visa. (vi) A Department or Supervisor may establish reasonable prerequisites which an employee must meet in order to work in a particular course or job and determine whether those prerequisites have been met before the employee becomes eligible to work in the course.
