Bereavement Time. 31.3.1 Regular full-time employees with one (1) or more years of service who are required to be absent from work because of death in their immediate family will be granted excused time off at the basic rate of pay for a reasonable period of time, not to exceed three (3) scheduled working days. Employees who can justify such need to the satisfaction of Management, such as for travel, will be eligible to receive up to two (2) additional days off from work; such time will be excused without pay, or, if available, the employee may elect to utilize Vacation or Holiday time.
Bereavement Time. All contractual provisions related to bereavement time will apply.
Bereavement Time. 36.1 If a death occurs among members of an employee’s immediate family the employee will be excused from work to attend the funeral and make other necessary arrangements without loss of pay from the day of death until the day after the funeral, but not more than a total of five (5) working days for spouse, child, and parent or three (3) working days for all other immediate family members as described in paragraph 36.
Bereavement Time. In the event of a death in an employee’s immediate family, the employee will receive bereavement time with pay from the day of death until seven (7) days following the funeral, provided the period does not exceed five (5) working days for spouse, child and parent or three (3) working days for all other immediate family as follows: brother, sister, mother/father-in-law, sister/brother-in-law, daughter/son-in-law, grandparent, grandchild, step-parent, step-child, step-sister/brother, half- sister/brother and those others for whom the employee maintains insurance coverage under paragraph 202.
Bereavement Time. 27.2.1 After 90 days from date of hire employees shall be granted excused time to be based on the circumstances in each case by reason of making arrangements for, or attending, a funeral in the immediate family. Compensation shall be at the basic hourly rate for normal scheduled work hours actually lost but shall not exceed three (3) basic days' pay. This shall be only applicable through a period starting with the day of death and including the day following interment. The employee shall select the day or days within this funeral period. The immediate family shall be considered as the employee’s father and mother (or equivalent thereof), fatherinlaw, motherinlaw, brother, sister, spouse or domestic partner, children, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, grandchildren, grandparents and great grandparents. Immediate family shall also include the employee’s brotherinlaw, sisterinlaw, aunt and uncle provided however, that payment hereunder shall be applicable only for the day of the funeral.
Bereavement Time. In the event of a death of any member of an officer's immediate family or the death of a member of a spouse's immediate family, the officer shall be granted absence with leave if scheduled to work through the second day following the funeral or any other memorial service, however, such time shall not exceed five (5) calendar days. The officer's immediate family shall consist of a spouse, children, father, mother, brother, sister, grandparents, grandparents-in-law, grandchildren, niece, nephew, aunt, uncle and any legal resident of the employee’s household at the discretion of the Chief of Police. A spouse's immediate family shall consist of father, mother, brother, sister and grandparents. Upon the death of any member of an officer's or spouse's family not listed above, the officer shall be granted one (1) day absent with leave. Additional time off may be granted for extenuating circumstances by the Chief of Police. Bereavement time may not be banked for use at a later time.
Bereavement Time. In case of death of a member of the immediate family (immediate family as here used means husband or wife, parents, brothers, sisters, own children and grandparents) of any employee or the death of any relative who has lived in the house of the employee for a minimum of one (1) year preceding the death, such employee shall be excused without loss of pay for a period not to exceed five (5) calendar days. In the case of death of a mother-in-law/father-in-law, an employee shall be permitted three (3) school days of absence within a reasonable period of time after the date of such death without loss of pay. Upon death in the family the employee is requested to arrange the details of absence from school with the principal. All days allowed under this Subsection shall be in addition to any sick leave.
Bereavement Time. An employee who is regularly scheduled to work twelve-hour shifts who has completed thirty (30) days of continuous employment and who suffers a death in the family (as defined in Article 13.4 of this Agreement) will be granted time off not to exceed a maximum of three (3) scheduled workdays within the seven-day period following the date of death, with “scheduled workday” defined as the length of the employee’s normally scheduled shift (e.g., twelve (12) hours).

The officer's immediate family shall consist of spouse, children, father, mother, brother and sister, grandparents, grandparents-in-law, grandchildren, and any legal resident of the employee’s household at the discretion of the Chief of Police. ▇▇▇▇▇▇'s immediate family shall consist of father, mother, brother and sister. Upon the death of any member of an officer's or spouse's family not listed above, the officer shall be granted one (1) day absence with leave. Bereavement Time. In the event of death in the family of an employee; spouse, parents, children, sister or brother; the employee shall be granted three (3) days leave of absence with full pay to make household adjustments, arrangement for medical service or to attend funeral services and one (1) day for grandparents, brother/sister-in-law, father-in-law/mother-in-law, niece and nephew.
