Joint Study Committees Clause Samples
A Joint Study Committees clause establishes a formal group composed of representatives from the parties to oversee, coordinate, or guide collaborative activities under an agreement. Typically, this committee meets regularly to review progress, resolve issues, and make recommendations or decisions on matters such as project milestones, resource allocation, or technical approaches. The core function of this clause is to facilitate effective communication and joint decision-making, ensuring that both parties remain aligned and can address challenges collaboratively throughout the course of their partnership.
Joint Study Committees. The parties may appoint joint ad hoc study committees to research, study and develop reports and to make recommendations on matters under consideration. Such committees shall operate under procedures approved by parties involved and report findings directly to them.
Joint Study Committees. 4.7.1. The negotiators may mutually agree to create Joint Study Committees.
4.7.2. The recommendations and reports of Joint Study Committees are advisory in nature.
4.7.3. When a Joint Study Committee has completed its study and submitted a written report on the subject assigned to it, it shall be considered dissolved and once dissolved, no such committee shall be reactivated except by mutual consent of the negotiators for both parties.
4.7.4. Joint Study Committee Reports shall remain as confidential reports to the Board and the Association and shall not be released unless mutually agreed upon or discussed in open session.
Joint Study Committees. Joint Study Committees (JSC) may be established by mutual agreement of Association and Employer to investigate topics of mutual interest.
16.1.1 The purpose of each study may be to gather and evaluate pertinent information and, in some instances, to develop recommendations.
16.1.2 A JSC shall function only in an advisory capacity.
16.1.3 The findings, conclusions, recommendations and final report of all such committees shall be submitted to the Association and Employer for review.
16.1.4 Sizes of JSC may vary inasmuch as the topics for study may differ considerably in complexity. Equal numbers of members and an appropriate number of alternates shall be appointed by the Employer and the Association to serve on such committees. District members and alternates shall be appointed by the Superintendent or designee. Association members and alternates shall be appointed by the Association President.
16.1.4.1 Sizes of JSC may vary inasmuch as the topics for study may differ considerably in complexity. Equal numbers of District and Association members and an appropriate number of alternates shall be appointed.
16.1.5 The work of the JSC shall terminate at the time that a final report of its findings and recommendations has been submitted for review, unless the report is referred back to the committee for further consideration.

The Study will begin in October 2017. Part of the Committee's task will be to review and analyze the CISM practices and policies of similar jurisdictions in the Washington Metropolitan region for jobs and classifications represented by PCEA. Action items agreed upon by all committee members, and certified to be cost neutral by OMB, will be memorialized in a side letter. C. A joint study committee of three members named by the County and three members named by PCEA will be established to study and determine the feasibility of instituting a cross training program within Public Safety Communications. The study will begin in September 2017 and a report of the committee's findings and recommendations will be submitted to the vendor contracted to perform a Staffing Analysis for the 9-1-1 dispatch function within the Office of Homeland Security/Public Safety Communications. Joint Study Committees. 31-01. The parties agree to establish separate Joint Study Committees for the following issues or purposes:
(1) To examine replacing all or a portion of the sick leave buyback program that is set forth in Section 5-04 with a long- term disability program and/or to examine other options or alternatives.
(2) To develop a model for an extended day program with the goal of ratification and implementation of a model at (a) selected school(s) before the expiration of this Agreement.
(3) A Joint Study Committee consisting of two (2) Representatives of the LSAA, the Superintendent and the Deputy Superintendent of Finance and Operations shall be formed upon ratification of this Agreement and shall meet at least monthly in order to review the LSAA’s Salary Schedule for any existing inequities in the work years and salaries of the job classifications. Any agreements that may be reached during the Joint Study Committee process shall be subject to ratification by the LSAA and the School Committee.

During the life of this Agreement, the Employer and Local 504 of the I.A.F.F. shall establish a physical fitness committee consisting of two (2) Union representatives, one (1) of which shall be the President; and two (2) Employer representatives, one (1) of which shall be the Director of Public Safety. A Joint Study Committee will be established to examine the dress code policy for civilian employees of the Sheriff, including the standards of dress for each section and the policy for deciding when to replace worn or unserviceable uniforms. Committee recommendations will be made to the Sheriff who will have the discretion to accept the recommendations, reject the recommendations or accept them with modifications.
C. A Joint Study Committee will be established to examine voluntary overtime distribution. Committee recommendations will be made to the Sheriff who will have the discretion to accept the recommendations, reject the recommendations or accept them with modifications.
D. A Joint Study Committee will be established to examine the subject of work schedules and alternative schedules for employees covered by this Agreement. Committee recommendations will be made to the Sheriff who will have the discretion to accept the recommendations, reject the recommendations or accept them with modifications.
