Limitation of overtime. (a) Weekly and daily limits: No employer shall require or permit an employee to work overtime for more than-
(i) 10 hours in any week; or
(ii) three hours on any day.
(b) Notice of working overtime to be given to employees: No overtime in excess of one hour in any day may be required of or permitted an employee unless the employer-
(i) gave notice thereof to such employee the previous day; or
(ii) provides such employee with an adequate meal before he commences overtime; or
(iii) pays such employee an allowance of R5,00 to enable the employee to obtain a meal before the overtime is due to commence.
(c) Overtime shall be voluntary.
(d) Before overtime is commenced on any day (Monday to Friday), the employer shall grant his employees a 10-minute paid meal interval (regarded as part of the overtime hours) or an unpaid meal interval of 30 minutes' duration, depending on the wishes of the majority of the employees concerned.
(e) An employee shall not be required to work overtime without his consent and an employee shall not be dismissed by reason of his refusal to work overtime.
Limitation of overtime. No employee under sixteen years of age will be employed on overtime. No employee under seventeen years of age will be employed on overtime in any event before 7.00 a.m. or later than 9.00 p.m. on any working day.
Limitation of overtime. It is the policy of the City to keep all overtime usage to a minimum. Overtime payment will be controlled by funds authorized in the approved budget. This policy extends to all varieties of overtime usage including holdover, callback and standby. Prior written authorization of the Department Head must be secured and communicated to the unit member. In an emergency, if it is impossible or impractical to secure advance authorization from the Department Head, the supervisor may authorize paid overtime. Overtime shall be compensated to the nearest one-quarter (1/4) hour. This shall apply to accumulation of all overtime during a work period.

Emergency in this subclause shall mean periods in which excess cash or bullion, which has been delayed by circumstances beyond the control of the employer, needs to be transported within a limited period of time and where extra labour is not available to carry out the necessary work.
(c) Time off in lieu of payment for Overtime (Reasonable Additional Hours) A permanent employee may elect, with the consent of ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇, to take time off in lieu of payment for Overtime (Reasonable Additional Hours) at a time or times agreed with ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇. Overtime (Reasonable Additional Hours)) taken as time off during ordinary time hours will be taken at the ordinary time rate, that is an hour for each hour worked.
Limitation of overtime. (a) Subject to the provisions of 18 (c), and Clause 14, Meals Breaks, an employee may be required to work for a continuous period amounting to fifteen (15) hours, excluding meal breaks, from the time of commencing work.

11.2 In the cases of emergency, as herein defined, the said twelve hours referred to in subclause 11. 1 hereof, may be exceeded by not more than one hour. Emergency, in this subclause shall mean periods in, which valuables, which have been delayed by circumstances beyond the control of the Company, need to be transported within a limited period of time and where extra labour is not available to carry out the necessary work. All employees agree to make themselves available to work a reasonable amount of overtime in order to fulfil business needs including customer expectations and services.
Limitation of overtime. Overtime may be performed without the above restrictions of up to 15 hours per week, provided there is agreement between the employer and the employee, including possible time off in lieu.
Limitation of overtime. 14.1 Subject to the provisions of clause 14.2 and clause 15, an Employee may be required to work for a continuous period amounting to 15 hours, excluding meal breaks, from the time of commencing work.
14.2 An Employee, other than an Employee on shift work, who is required to work for a continuous period amounting to 12 hours or more from the time of commencing work will be entitled to be absent from work until the Employee has had 10 consecutive hours off duty. Should the said 10 hours or any part thereof coincide with the Employee’s ordinary hours of work the Employee will be paid at the Ordinary Rate for the time which falls within the Employee's ordinary hours of work.
