The Overtime Calculations clause defines how additional compensation is determined for hours worked beyond the standard work schedule. Where by mutual agreement between the Association and the City; the employee working the OPTION 1 twelve (12) hour patrol schedule or the OPTION 2 twelve (12) hour patrol schedule, overtime (one and one-half (1 and %:) times an employee's regular salary) shall mean that the time an employee works, when authorized by the supervisor, in excess of eighty hours in any fourteen (14) day work period or in excess of twelve (12) hours in a twenty-four (24)-hour period, depending on the regularly scheduled length of an employee's work shift. In no event shall the voluntary exchange of schedules or shift change situations, which are agreed upon by a supervisor and an employee, or which have been arranged by officers between themselves, result in the payment of overtime. Paid leave shall be treated as hours worked for purposes of calculating daily and weekly overtime entitlements pursuant to this agreement.

Time paid but not worked i.e. holidays, holiday bank hours, sick leave, bereavement leave, vacation, compensatory leave or leave without pay, shall be excluded from the computation of daily hours worked when computing overtime hours.
