A Shift Swap clause allows employees to exchange scheduled work shifts with one another, subject to employer approval or specific conditions. Typically, this clause outlines the process for requesting a swap, any required notice periods, and any restrictions, such as ensuring adequate coverage or not exceeding maximum work hours. Its core function is to provide flexibility for employees to manage personal commitments while maintaining operational staffing needs for the employer.
Shift Swap. Part-time Scheduling Flexibility (In Store)
Shift Swap. A dispatcher may swap a shift with another dispatcher provided that a request signed by the parties involved in the swap and the dates of shifts being swapped within 30 days is submitted and approved by the Communication Supervisor or designee, and provided that the swap does not result in overtime. Shift swaps shall comply with the terms of FLSA 29 CFR § 553.31 - Substitution - section 7(p)(3).
Shift Swap. The Company agrees that shifts may be “swapped” between two employees subject to the agreement of the relevant Shift Supervisor and Team Leaders. It is understood that shift swaps are only possible where the employees are competent at operating the equipment they will operate on the swapped shift.
Shift Swap. Part-time Scheduling Flexibility (In Store) Part-time employees can SWAP shifts of equal or different lengths by mutual consent and without regard to seniority. Shift swap requests remain subject to approval by the Department Manager or designate.
Shift Swap. Each employee of the bargaining unit will be allowed to exchange work time, so called “swap a shift” with pay, for a day in which he/she is able to secure another employee to work on his/her assigned hours of work. This leave may be granted provided:
a. Such swaps or exchanges are made only after written approval by the Chief of Police or his/her designee.
b. Such swap shall be completed, i.e. pay back of swapped time occur, within thirty (30) days.
c. Such swaps shall not impose any additional cost on the Town with regard to payment of additional salaries and wages or in any other form of compensation. A limit of the number of swaps may be established by the Police Chief or his designee in cases of abuse or excess use of this privilege.

c. The employee initially assigned the shift which is being swapped shall be responsible for the shift being covered.
Shift Swap. Residents and Fellows will be permitted to attend interviews for training positions in academic medicine during the academic year without needing to use "paid time off," provided they are able to swap shifts with a colleague and on the condition that such swap is approved in advance by the program director, consistent with program or department policy, with such approval not to be unreasonably withheld.
Shift Swap. By agreement with the Company, employees covered by this Agreement may be permitted to swap shifts to accommodate an employee’s request to do so. Where permission is granted, the employee requesting the swap will be paid his/her normal pay for the ‘swapped’ shift, and the employee accommodating the request (‘the relieving employee’) will be paid double time (requiring a payment of 8 hours at single time in addition to the normal pay) for the swapped shift. Provided that the relieving employee does not swap to a shift that would result in him/her working in excess of the maximum numbers of hours in a day or week under company policy and maintains minimum rest periods required under this agreement and relevant legislation. The relieving employee will only receive the penalty prescribed by this clause for the first shift swapped.
Shift Swap. (a) Requests for shift swaps in the posted schedule must be submitted and accepted through the Time and Attendance System at least forty-eight (48) hours in advance. Swaps of less than forty-eight
Shift Swap a) Requests for change in posted time schedules must be submitted through the Time and Attendance System.
b) It is understood that such a shift initiated by the employees shall not result in overtime and such shift swaps must be completed within the posted scheduling booking period.
c) Employees who accept shifts through trades are expected to work the shifts accepted.
d) For those employees who trade into all nights and evenings, it is understood that the Hospital reserves the right to require the employee to work certain shifts for the purpose of training, education and appraisal.
