TRAINING INCENTIVE. As an incentive for employees to improve their proficiency on the 13 job, or upgrade and enhance their skills and therefore, their employment opportunities with 14 the District, a $125.00 stipend will be offered for personnel who have earned twenty four 15 (24) hours over a two (2) year period through participation in a job related community 16 college course, Staff Development course or Adult and Community Education course. The 17 course must be taken on the employee’s personal (non-work) time. Three stipends per 18 employee may be awarded per school year. Stipend(s) will be paid at the successful 19 completion of each 24 hours of training and submission of the “SPALC, Confidential, and 20 Supervisory/Technical Training Incentive Application”. Interested employees are required 21 to seek verification of eligibility for training incentives by submitting an application to the 22 Principal or Director indicating the course requested and justification of relevance to the 23 employee’s position prior to enrolling in the course. Applications will be available at each 24 work site and through the Curriculum and Staff Development Department. Employees are 25 not eligible to receive the Trade Certification Supplement and the Training Incentive for 26 the same activity.

TRAINING INCENTIVE. 18.01 Any employee who is assigned by the Employer to review and evaluate a trainee's work shall receive one-half (1/2) hour overtime pay for each eight hours of work acting in such training capacity.

TRAINING INCENTIVE. 18.1: Current full-time Employees who are radar and/or breathalyzer certified shall receive a 1% annual lump sum incentive bonus based on the employee’s current base annual wage (per Appendix A – Wage Scale) for acquiring and maintaining proficiency in these specialties. Such pay will be paid as part of the first pay in February.
18.2: Police officers and dispatchers who are instructors in a specialty as determined by the Administration, including but not limited to FTO, CTO, and cross-trained officers/dispatchers, shall receive a 2% incentive bonus based on the employee’s current base wage (per Appendix A – Wage Scale) for acquiring and maintaining instructional proficiency in these specialties. In no case shall certification in the specialties listed in sections 18.1 and this section result in more than 3% in incentive bonuses.
18.3: Employee’s hourly overtime rate shall be increased to receive the value of the bonus at the time the member receives his/her certification for the covered bonus specialties.
18.4: The Employer shall make training available to all seniority employees or schedule all employees for radar and/or breathalyzer training to ensure that all seniority employees shall be eligible for the 1% incentive bonus. All employees wishing training for the incentive bonus related skills, must request such training each year.
18.5: Employer agrees to accommodate employees in maintaining all of the above-stated certifications. It is the responsibility of the employee to notify the designated training officer that his/her certification will need to be re-certified. This notification must be done by January 1, of the same year of expiration.

TRAINING INCENTIVE. 8.9.1. An assigned training officer shall be eligible to receive an additional two dollars ($2.00) an hour for each compensable hour worked in a training assignment as directed by the manager or designee while training new employees during their designated training period. 8.9.2. An employee will be eligible to receive an additional fifty cents (50¢) for each compensable hour worked out of the immediate center and providing public education and ACCESS certification training.

Staff assigned as a Designated Instructor in order to achieve or maintain compliance with an applicable regulation(s), including but not limited to 49 CFR Part 243, shall be paid two (2) additional hours at the straight time rate during each shift in which they perform the required training. This responsibility will be assigned to the employee most qualified, in the exclusive determination of the Carrier, to provide instruction on the particular technology or subject matter at hand. Outside of this formal program, the Carrier may assign an individual(s) as Peer Mentor(s) in order to help with the orientation and training of new and existing staff. Staff so designated shall be paid one (1) additional hour at the straight time rate during each shift in which they perform the required training for the majority of the shift. This responsibility will be assigned to the employee most qualified, in the exclusive determination of the Carrier, to provide instruction on the particular technology or subject matter at hand.
