The "Union Facilities for Union Representatives" clause establishes the employer's obligation to provide certain resources or accommodations to union representatives within the workplace. UNION FACILITIES FOR UNION REPRESENTATIVES. 32.1 The employer recognises the rights of the union to organise and represent its members. Union representatives (“delegates”) in the agency have a legitimate role and function in assisting the union in the tasks of recruitment, organising, communication and representing members’ interests in the workplace and agency.
32.2 The employer will recognise union representatives in the agency and will allow them to carry out their role and functions.
32.3 The union will advise the employer in writing of the names of the union representatives in the agency.
32.4 The employer shall recognise the authorisation of each union representative in the agency and shall provide them with the following:
(a) Reasonable paid time off from normal duties:
(i) to perform their functions as a union representative such as organising, recruiting, individual grievance handling, collective bargaining, involvement in union authorised committees; and
(ii) to attend union business in accordance with Clause 15 – Leave to attend Union Business, of the Miscellaneous Government Conditions and Allowances Award 1992.
(b) Access to facilities required for the purpose of carrying out their duties. Facilities may include but not be limited to, the use of lockable filing cabinets, meeting rooms, telephones, fax, email, internet, photocopiers and stationery. Such access to facilities shall not unreasonably affect the operation of the organisation and shall be in accordance with normal agency protocols.
(c) A notice board for the display of union materials including broadcast email facilities.
(d) Paid access to periods of leave for the purpose of attending union training courses in accordance with Clause 14 – Trade Union Training Leave, of the Miscellaneous Government Conditions and Allowances Award 1992. Country representatives will be provided with appropriate travel time.
(e) Notification of the commencement of new employees, and as part of their induction, time to discuss the benefits of union membership with them.
(f) Access to a sheltered area for meetings of members.
(g) Access to work location, names, rosters and hours of work of employees. This information and access will also be provided to union officials upon request.
(h) Access to awards, agreements, policies and procedures.
(i) Access to information on matters affecting employees in accordance with Clause 31 – Consultation, of the General Agreement.

51.3 The employer will recognise Union representatives in the agency and will allow them to carry out their role and functions.
51.4 The Union will advise the employer in writing of the names of the Union representatives in the agency.
51.5 The employer shall recognise the authorisation of each Union representative in the agency and shall provide them with the following:
a) Paid time off from normal duties to perform their functions as a Union representative such as organising, recruiting, individual grievance handling, collective bargaining, involvement in the electorate delegates committee and to attend Union business in accordance with Clause 44 - Leave to Attend Union Business of the Agreement.
b) Access to facilities required for the purpose of carrying out their duties. Facilities may include but not be limited to, the use of filing cabinets, meeting rooms, telephones, fax, email, internet, photocopiers and stationery. Such access to facilities shall not unreasonably affect the operation of the organisation and shall be in accordance with normal agency protocols.

The Employer shall recognise the authorisation of each Union representative in the Parliament and shall provide them with the following: Paid time off from normal duties to perform their functions as a Union representative such as organising, recruiting, individual grievance handling, collective bargaining and involvement in the electorate delegates committee and to attend Union business in accordance with clause 34, Leave to Attend Union Business, of the Award. 36.5 The employer shall recognise the authorisation of each union representative in the agency and shall provide them with the following:
(a) Access to facilities required for the purpose of carrying out their duties. Union representatives in the Organisation have a legitimate role and function in assisting the Union in the tasks of recruitment, organising, communication and representing members' interests in the workplace, Organisation and Union electorate.
58.2 The Employer will recognise Union representatives in the Organisation and will allow them to carry out their role and functions.
58.3 The Union will advise the Employer in writing of the names of the Union representatives in the Organisation.
58.4 The Employer shall recognise the authorisation of each Union representative in the Organisation and shall provide them with the following:
(a) Paid time off from normal duties to perform their functions as a Union representative such as organising, recruiting, individual grievance handling, collective bargaining, involvement in the electorate delegates committee and to attend Union business in accordance with clause 56 of this Agreement.
(b) Access to facilities required for the purpose of carrying out their duties. Facilities may include but not be limited to, the use of filing cabinets, meeting rooms, telephones, fax, email, internet, photocopiers and stationery. Such access to facilities shall not unreasonably affect the operation of the organisation and shall be in accordance with normal Organisation protocols.

(g) The names of any equal employment opportunity, occupational safety and health representatives and family and domestic violence contact officers.
UNION FACILITIES FOR UNION REPRESENTATIVES. (1) The employer recognises the rights of the union to organise and represent its members. The union representative in the Western Australian Mint has a legitimate role and function in assisting the union in the tasks of recruitment, organising, communication and representing members’ interests in the workplace and the Mint. It is equally recognised by the union and any representative that the representative’s primary focus and responsibility as an employee of the Mint, is to carry out the duties for which he or she is employed.

Union representatives in the agency have a legitimate role and function in assisting the union in the tasks of recruitment, organising, communication and representing members’ interests in the workplace, agency and union electorate.
58.2 The Commission recognises that, under the union’s rules, union representatives are members of an Electorate Delegates Committee representing members within a union electorate. A union electorate may cover more than one agency.
58.3 The Commission will recognise union representatives in the Commission and will allow them to carry out their role and functions.
58.4 The union will advise the Commission in writing of the names of the union representatives in the Commission.
58.5 The Commission shall recognise the authorisation of each union representative in the agency and shall provide them with the following:
(a) Paid time off from normal duties to perform their functions as a union representative such as organising, recruiting, individual grievance handling, collective bargaining, involvement in the electorate delegates committee and to attend union business in accordance with clause 49– Leave to Attend Association Business of this Agreement.
(b) Access to facilities required for the purpose of carrying out their duties. Facilities may include but not be limited to, the use of filing cabinets, meeting rooms, telephones, fax, email, Internet, photocopiers and stationery. Such access to facilities shall not unreasonably affect the operation of the organisation and shall be in accordance with normal agency protocols.

(2) It is equally recognised by the union and any representative that the representative’s primary focus and responsibility as an employee of the Mint, is to carry out the duties for which he or she is employed.
(3) The employer will recognise the union representative in the Western Australian Mint and will allow them to carry out their role and functions.
(4) The union will advise the employer in writing of the names of the union representative in the Western Australian Mint.
(5) Subject to appropriate notice and prior arrangement with the Mint, officers will be granted paid time off to attend union business in accordance with clause 27 - Leave to Attend Union Business of the Award.
(6) Paid access to periods of leave for the purpose of attending union training courses in accordance with clause 28 - Trade Union Training Leave of the Award.
(7) Notification of the commencement of new employees, and as part of their induction, time to discuss the benefits of union membership with them.
(8) Access to awards, agreements, policies and procedures.
(9) Access to information on matters affecting employees in accordance with Clause 18 – Consultation of the Agreement.

(11) The Mint recognises that it is paramount that the union representative in the workplace is not threatened or disadvantaged in any way as a result of their role as a union representative.
