Union Rep. The Union may name a Grievance Committee of not more than members who shall be employees of the Company covered by this Agreement. The Union may designate and the Company shall recognize Shop Stewards in such numbers as shall be agreed by the parties hereto to be reasonable and proper. The Union shall keep the Company informed of the name of each Shop ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ and the work represents. The Company agrees to compensate, at straight-time rates, up to five stewards and/or grievance committee people for time lost during normal working hours for attendance at grievance meetings held under the provisions of Article Grievance Procedure. The Company will also pay Union Representativesfor time lost during normal working hours for attendance at meetings called by the Company. Shop Stewards handling a grievance at STEP shall be paid the appropriate rate. The Union may designate and the Company shall recognize not more than five (5) members who are employees of the Company covered by this Agreement and who shall constitute a negotiating committee. The function of such committee shall be to meet with Company representatives for the purpose of negotiating a Collective Agreement. The Company will handle the payment for wages lost by Union Representatives for attendance at wage negotiations in connection with the re- opening of the Labour Agreement and approved leaves of absence requested by the Union of up to three weeks to attend official union functions, through the Company Payroll Department even though the cost of such wage payment shall be borne by the Union. The Union will reimburse the Company for such payment. The rate of pay shall be the employee’s straight-time rate on the last day worked prior to being absent. Should any difference arise between the parties bound by this Agreement concerning its interpretation, application or any alleged violation thereof, including any questions as to whether any matters are arbitrable, there shall be no interference with the progress of the work, and the difference shall be finally and conclusively settled as hereinafter provided. Either party may initiate grievances with the procedure pursued as expeditiously as possible. A grievance shall be submitted within five (5) working days from the time the employee and/or the Union receives knowledge of the alleged infraction.   • Union Representative Visits The Union shall inform the Employer in advance whenever the designated representatives of the Union intend to visit the Employer’s premises for the purpose of conducting Union business.   • UNION REPRESENTATIVE'S VISITS 30.01 Duly authorized full-time representatives of the Union shall be entitled to visit the Co-operative for the purpose of observing working conditions, interviewing members and unsigned employees and to ensure that the terms of the Collective Agreement are being implemented. 30.02 The interview of an employee by a Union Representative shall be permitted, after notifying the General Manager or their designated representative, and shall be: (a) carried on in a place within the Co-operative's premises designated by management; (b) held whenever possible during the lunch period; however, if this is not practical; (c) held during the regular working hours; time taken for such interview in excess of five (5) minutes shall not be on Co-operative time unless with the approval of management; (d) held at such times as will not interfere with service to the public.

  • UNION REPRESENTATION 3.01 For the purpose of representation with the Employer, the Union shall function and be recognized as follows: a. The Union may appoint up to two (2) stewards. Stewards are representatives of the employees in certain matters pertaining to this Agreement, including the processing of grievances. b. Union Representatives are representatives of the employees in all matters pertaining to this Agreement, particularly for the purpose of processing grievances, negotiating amendments to and renewals of this Agreement and enforcing the employees' collective bargaining rights as well as any rights under this Agreement and under the law. 3.02 The Union agrees to notify the Employer in writing of the names of its stewards and the effective dates of their appointments. The Employer shall not be required to recognize a ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ until such notice is received. 3.03 Stewards will not absent themselves from their work to deal with grievances without first obtaining permission from the Employer. Permission will not be withheld unreasonably. Stewards that are absent from work to attend a grievance arbitration, mediation, or any other proceeding that arises from the administration or enforcement of this Agreement will not receive their regular hourly rate. 3.04 The Employer may meet periodically with the employees for the purpose of discussing any matters of mutual interest or concern to the Employer, the Union and the employees. A Union Representative may attend such meetings. 3.05 There shall be no Union activity at any time on the Employer's premises, or in connection with the Employer’s business operations, except that which is necessary for the processing of grievances and the administration and enforcement of this Agreement. 3.06 Union Representatives shall have the right to periodically visit job sites without disrupting productivity and without unreasonable intrusion into the Employer or its clients’ premises. The Union’s Representative shall report to the site superintendent, or ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ upon arriving at a worksite, and shall abide by all necessary protocol as determined by the general contractor, the Employer, or the client.
