The Voluntary Transfers/Reassignments clause governs the process by which an employee or party may request to move to a different position, department, or location within an organization by their own choice. Typically, this clause outlines the eligibility criteria, application procedures, and any limitations or conditions that apply to such voluntary moves, such as required notice periods or approval from management. Voluntary Transfers/Reassignments. 1. When a vacancy occurs the Superintendent shall solicit declarations of interest on the part of unit members, by e-mailing a notice of the job vacancy.

Voluntary Transfers/Reassignments. 1. Certified staff may request a voluntary transfer at any time throughout the school year.
a. Transfers during the school year shall not leave students without qualified staff member(s) to provide instruction.
b. Transfers during the school year shall require the approval of both the releasing administrator and receiving administrator. If the releasing administrator denies the transfer request, the staff member can appeal through the chain of command up to and including the Superintendent.
c. Transfers during the summer must be completed 15 days prior to the start of the new school year.
d. Transfers during the summer only require approval of the receiving administrator. Notice shall be provided to the releasing administrator.
2. The employee and the administrator are encouraged to meet and discuss any issues pertaining to transfers as early as possible.
3. Educational support staff in positions not requiring a license may transfer at any time throughout the school year.
4. All qualified bargaining unit employees shall be interviewed.
a. Preference for selection will be as follows: (1) In-building or in-department;

After the end of school, notice shall be posted in the central office and sent to the Association President or his/her designee. Notification of openings shall be included in the paychecks received by the bargaining unit member. During the summer, notifications of vacancies shall be posted on the school TV channel and school website. All job postings shall include the following information:
a. Position title
b. Subject area and grade level
c. Licensing/certification requirement
d. Title of immediate supervisor
e. Location of the vacancy (building)
f. Date of posting and last date to apply for position
2. Members who desire a reassignment/transfer, or express interest in a vacancy, may file a written declaration of interest with the Superintendent during the ten (10) work day period after the solicitation notice is sent out by the Superintendent or after the posting.
3. Consideration of bargaining unit members to fill a vacancy shall not be limited to members who have filed a declaration of interest. Consideration of members to fill a vacancy shall take into account the following:
a. The teacher possesses a valid certification at the time of application for the area(s) listed in the vacancy notice.
Voluntary Transfers/Reassignments. 1. Any bargaining unit member who has requested a transfer/reassignment will be given consideration for the position prior to a final decision to hire an outside applicant.
2. Normally, teachers on an improvement plan will not be eligible for transfers. Exceptions to this policy will be made on an individual basis at the discretion of the Superintendent/designee.
3. Final assignment will be made by the building principal.
4. All teachers requesting a transfer/reassignment will be notified electronically regarding the outcome.
5. Administrators will give reasons for any denial of a requested transfer or reassignment of a teacher if requested.

A letter of application outlining qualifications and experience will be sent to the Superintendent or designee and received within five (5) working days of the internal posting.
Voluntary Transfers/Reassignments. The following conditions will apply to voluntary transfer/reassignment requests:
15.2.1 A unit member may request change of grade level or school, or both.
15.2.2 A request for a voluntary transfer/reassignment will be presented to the Superintendent in writing by March 15, for a transfer/reassignment in the following school year.
15.2.3 If two (2) or more unit members with credentials and qualifications for the position apply for a vacancy, the following factors will be taken into consideration:

Voluntary Transfers/Reassignments. 11.5.1. Any unit member may request a voluntary transfer/reassignment for a published vacancy. The request shall be made on a “Request for Transfer/Reassignment” form (Appendix C) and sent to the Office of the Superintendent.
11.5.2. Requests for voluntary transfer/reassignment shall be made within five (5) duty days of the posting of the notice of the vacancy.
11.5.3. The following criteria shall be considered in the selection:

Voluntary Transfers/Reassignments. 2.3.1 Intent to return forms shall be sent to all bargaining unit members by March 15th each year. These forms will include a request for preferences for assignments for the following year. These preferences shall be considered when making preliminary assignments for the following school year.
2.3.2 All requests for voluntary transfers and/or reassignment shall be considered based on the following non prioritized criteria:
