Part Time Workers Clause Samples

Part Time Workers. Workers who work fewer than 40 hours per week are entitled to that proportion of vacation earnings granted full-time workers that is equal to the percent of a full time contract.
Part Time Workers. Part-time workers with regularly-scheduled commitments of at least 16 hours per week will accrue vacation benefits pro-rata (i.e., a proportion of the vacation benefits for which full-time workers are eligible) based on hours paid up to 40 paid hours per week.
Part Time Workers. Where the normal roster of a part-time worker includes a day that is a holiday, the worker shall receive the normal pay the employee would have received on that day and enjoy the holiday or receive the appropriate public holiday rate for working whatever hours the employee worked during it. For part-time workers whose normal roster includes a Saturday or Sunday that would be a prescribed holiday but for the substitution of an alternative day, the following shall apply: a) The employee shall be granted leave with pay on the “actual day” without any substitution; or b) The employee works on the “actual day” at normal Saturday or Sunday rates (if the Saturday or Sunday is Christmas Day the relevant loading will apply as prescribed in clause 6.6.3) and is allowed to take another day with pay, which may or may not be the prescribed substitute day, as a holiday; or c) The employee works on the “actual day” at normal Saturday or Sunday rates (if the Saturday or Sunday is Christmas Day the relevant loading will apply as prescribed in clause 6.6.3 herein) and receives, in addition, payment at ordinary time rates for an additional day of equal length (with no substitution of an alternative day). If any of these benefits applies, the employee who works on the prescribed substitute day should do so at ordinary time rates. Where a part-time employee works an alternating shift roster (for example, an employee regularly works Monday to Friday one week and Tuesday to Saturday the next week) and a public holiday (or substitute day as the case may be) falls on a day that the employee works in any week of their roster cycle, (using the above example, the holiday falls on the Monday of the week that the employee is rostered off), the employee shall be entitled to the provisions of clause 6.6.6.
Part Time Workers. This leave shall be computed for part-time personnel at a proration rate for the number of hours worked.
Part Time Workers. The Employer will not employ part-time workers unless absolutely necessary.
Part Time Workers. (1) A part-time worker shall mean a worker engaged on a weekly contract of service, who works regularly from week to week for not less than three consecutive ordinary hours per time, or more than seven ordinary hours per day, and not less than fifteen or more than thirty-five ordinary hours each week, over not more than five days of the week. (2) Part-time workers shall be paid at the rate of time and a quarter, provided that this rate shall be increased to time and a half for all work performed on a Saturday or Sunday, and to double time for all work performed on the holidays referred to in subclause (1)(a) of clause 17. - Holidays of this agreement. (3) A part-time worker who is required to work any of his ordinary hours between 7.00 p.m. and 7.00 a.m., Monday to Friday, both inclusive, shall be paid at the rate of an extra thirty cents per hour for each such hour, or part thereof worked, with a minimum payment of sixty cents per day. (4) All time worked by a part-time worker beyond seven ordinary hours per day, thirty-five ordinary hours per week and/or five days per week, shall be overtime and paid for at the appropriate overtime rates prescribed in clause 10. - Overtime of this agreement. (5) A part-time worker after twelve months' continuous service shall be entitled upon request to be absent without pay for a period not exceeding four weeks. The period of absence shall be arranged at a time mutually satisfactory to the employer and the worker. (6) The provisions of clauses 9. - Additional Rates for Ordinary Hours, 15. - Sick Leave, 17. - Holidays and 18. - Annual Leave shall not apply to a part-time worker.
Part Time Workers. (a) Before commencing employment and from time to time, the employer and the employee will agree in writing on a regular pattern of work including the employee’s available hours, the number of hours to be worked each week, the days of the week the employee will work and the starting and finishing times each day. (b) Any agreed variation to the regular pattern of work will be negotiated between the employer and employee and recorded in writing with at least two weeks notification being required by both parties
Part Time Workers. 2.1 The annual leave and bank holiday entitlement will be reduced proportionately for those employees working 52 weeks per year but less than 37 hours with effect from 1 April 2010 as follows: Leave Entitlement and bank holiday divided by Normal Working week (37 hrs) Multiplied by Hours Worked Multiplied by 7.4 (37 / 5 days) 2.2 The annual leave and bank holiday entitlement will be reduced proportionately for those employees working term time only based on the hours worked with effect from 1 April 2010 as follows:  Leave Entitlement and bank holidays divided by Normal Working Week (37 hrs)  Multiplied by Hours Worked  Multiplied by 7.4 (37 / 5 days)  Divided by 45.2 (weeks worked)  Multiplied by the number of weeks actually worked including term time workers. 2.3 Holiday entitlement for all employees working less than 37 hours a week and 52 weeks of the year will be calculated in hours Working Example: Mrs A works 52 weeks per year, 18 ½ hours per week : Calculation: Basic Entitlement: 23 days annual leave plus 11 bank holidays Equates to 34 days in total Divided by 37 hours (normal working week) Multiplied by 18.5 contracted hours Multiplied by 7.4 hours (calculation equivalent to normal working day) Equates to 148 hours entitlement (bank holidays to be counted within entitlement in accordance with number of hours worked per day)
Part Time Workers. (a) No employee shall work part-time on a regular basis unless by mutual agreement by the Employer, the Union and the employee concerned, except as contained in the Letter of Understanding No. 2, Re: Part-Time Employees. Such employee shall be entitled to all rights and benefits contained in the Agreement without loss of seniority. (b) Persons hired to temporarily replace regular drivers who are absent due to vacations, illness, or other leave of absence, shall be on probation for three hundred and fifty-two (352) working hours. The Employer shall not be obligated to recall such employees who are laid off during their probationary period. Spare Drivers shall be compensated for Annual Vacations at the rate of four percent (4%) of their gross wages, payable on each pay day. Spare Drivers who have completed three hundred and fifty-two (352) working hours shall be compensated for General Holidays at the rate of four percent (4%) of their gross wages, payable on each pay day. Spare Drivers shall not be covered by the Health and Welfare Plan or Sick Leave provisions. Spare Drivers shall be paid the Spare Driver's rate of pay.
Part Time Workers. The Employer guarantees to pay any employee hired for part time work a minimum of four (4) hours pay. If an employee works more than four (4) hours he will be guaranteed six (6) hours; if he works more than six (6) hours he will be paid for the actual hours worked.
