Regular Work Day and Work Week. 1. The regular workday of full-time Employees is seven (7) hours exclusive of lunch and the regular workweek of full-time Employees is thirty-five (35) hours exclusive of lunch except that Employees in the Children’s Program shall continue to have a regular workday of six and one-half (6 ½) hours exclusive of lunch and a regular workweek of thirty-five (35) hours inclusive of lunch. 2. Employees who regularly work at least three and one-half (3 ½) hours a day shall have a meal period of not less than thirty minutes per day. Employees who work a shift of more than six (6) hours starting before 11 AM and continuing after 2 PM will be allowed an uninterrupted meal period between 11 AM and 2 PM. 3. The hours per week regularly worked by a full-time or part-time Employee shall not be reduced during the term of the Agreement except for lack of work. If the hours of Employees in a particular title must be reduced because of lack of work, the least senior Employees in the title shall have their hours reduced or eliminated before more senior Employees, provided the remaining Employees are qualified to do the work required. 4. For all Employees entitled to a meal period longer than thirty (30) minutes on the date of ratification of this Agreement, the Employer shall continue its current policy regarding meal period entitlements. The Employer shall inform Employees in writing at the time they are hired of: a. the daily starting and ending time of their shift b. the length of their meal period 5. If it becomes necessary to change an Employee’s work schedule/shift, the Employer shall seek qualified volunteer(s) in the affected title. If there are no, or an insufficient number of qualified volunteer(s), the Employer shall change the work schedule/shift of the least senior qualified Employee(s) in the affected title. An Employee whose schedule/shift is involuntarily changed shall be given preference to revert to his/her previous work schedule/shift if an opportunity becomes available to do so within one year of the involuntary change of schedule.
Regular Work Day and Work Week for Full-time Employees (a) The regular work day will be: (i) 7 hours, or (ii) 7.5 hours, or
Regular Work Day and Work Week. A "regular work day" shall consist of eight (8) hours. The hours of work shall be consecutive except when an unpaid lunch period is provided. A "regular work week" shall consist of five (5) eight-hour days, commencing at the beginning of work on Monday and running to the end of the shift on the following Friday. Nothing herein shall preclude employees volunteering to work some other regular work week, provided such alternate regular work week shall not include Sunday.
Regular Work Day and Work Week. (a) The regular work day will be 7 consecutive hours of work between 7:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. For part-time employees, their hours of work will be consecutive and will fall between 7:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. (b) The regular work week will consist of 5 consecutive days of work, Monday through Friday, to a maximum of 35 hours per week. (c) Saturday and Sunday will be scheduled days of rest. (d) The regular work day for all employees covered by this Agreement will not be increased except by mutual agreement. (e) Temporary changes to an employee’s start time, work day or work week are permitted. Unless mutually agreed to, a permanent change to an employee’s regular start time requires that the employee be provided with 30 calendar days’ written notice of the change. (f) Modified work days (e.g. split shifts) or work weeks are acceptable by agreement between the employee and the Employer provided that the hours worked will be, on average, equivalent to that which the employee would have worked under clauses 9.02 (a) and (b). Except for clauses 9.02 (a) and (b), an employee working pursuant to a modified work day or work week agreement retains access to the provisions of this Agreement and there will be no loss or gain of any provision of this Agreement when a modified work day or work week is in use. (g) Where an urgent circumstance or emergency arises, the Employer may make temporary changes as required with as much notice as possible to the employee. Such changes will not remain in effect for more than 2 weeks. This provision will not be used repeatedly so as to circumvent the requirement for the notice given above.
Regular Work Day and Work Week. The regular working day shall consist of eight (8) hours labor in the shop or on the job between six 6:00 a.m. and six 6:00 p.m. and the regular working week shall consist of five (5) consecutive eight hour days of labor in the shop or on the job, beginning with Monday and ending with Friday of each week. All full time or part time labor performed during such hours shall be recognized as regular working hours and paid for at the regular hourly rate specified in this agreement. The contractor must establish a regular working day of eight hours between the hours of 6:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M. Any hours worked before or after the established shift shall be paid at the established overtime rate. The Employer is allowed up to four (4) hours of overtime prior to the established starting time at which time the employee reverts to straight time for up to eight (8) hours or time actually worked. Employees shall be at the shop or project site at scheduled starting time each day and shall remain until quitting time.

  • Work Day and Work Week The normal work day shall consist of up to 8 hours of work within a 24-hour period. The normal work week shall consist of up to 40 hours of work within a 7-day period. The Employer may define the work week on an individual, department, shift or facility basis in accordance with Federal and State law.

  • Regular Work Week The regular work week shall be any five (5) consecutive days, Sunday through Saturday, for a total regular work week of forty (40) working hours, subject to the applicable premiums where provided for in this Agreement. Notwithstanding the above, employees may volunteer to work schedules that fall outside of the regular work week of Sunday through Saturday and may do so, upon approval by the Company, and with no penalty cost to the Company, but with applicable premiums as provided for in this Agreement.

(Those Hospitals with the lesser required hours shall reflect in the salary rates a pro-rata lesser amount compared with salaries for other Hospitals based on the ratio that the standard or normal hours of work at the Hospital concerned are to thirty-seven and one-half (37½) hours and shall appropriately reflect such hours in this Article). The length of time over which the hours of work per week are to be averaged shall be determined locally and shall be set out in the Local Provisions Appendix. (b) (applicable to part-time employees only) The normal or standard work day shall be seven and one-half (7½) hours per day and the normal or standard full- time work week shall be an average of thirty-seven and one- half (37½) hours per week except in those hospitals where agreements already provide a normal or standard work day of less than seven and one-half hours and a normal or standard full-time work week of less than thirty-seven and one-half (37½) hours. (Those Hospitals with the lesser required hours shall reflect in the salary rates a pro-rata lesser amount compared with salaries for other Hospitals based on the ratio that the standard or normal hours work at the Hospital concerned are to thirty-seven and one-half (37½) hours and shall appropriately reflect such hours in this article.) Part-time employees shall be entitled to overtime pay at the rate of time and one-half their regular straight time hourly rate for all hours worked in excess of the normal or standard work day or in excess of the normal or standard full-time work week. The length of time over which the hours of work per week are to be averaged shall be determined locally and shall be set out in the Local Provisions Appendix. (c) Where the Hospital and the Union agree, subject to the approval of the Ministry of Labour, other arrangements regarding hours of work may be entered into between parties on a local level with respect to tours beyond the normal or standard work day in accordance with the provisions set out in Article 25.01 of the collective agreement.
