Shared Teaching Assignments. A. It is agreed that shared time bargaining unit members are regular employees and subject to the terms of the Master Agreement. B. Job sharing shall be considered a partial leave of absence for full-time bargaining unit members. C. Job sharing shall be defined as two (2) bargaining unit members sharing one (1) full-time position. 1. Agreement to share a full-time job assignment shall commit the bargaining unit members and the Board to not more than one (1) school year. 2. If a full-time position opens during the school year in the area of certification of the shared-time position, that position may be filled on a temporary basis until the end of the school year. D. Job sharing information will be posted and written expressions of interest shall be submitted to the Director of Human Resources by May 7. Interested bargaining unit members will be notified of tentative shared teaching assignments by May 14 and shall have three (3) working days to accept or refuse the assignment. E. In order to establish a shared job assignment, the bargaining unit members and the principal involved shall, by June 1: 1. Schedule the work time and designate the responsibility for each class or subject, i.e., one (1) academic term on, one (1) academic term off; mornings and afternoons; class hours at the secondary level, etc. 2.   • Teaching Assignments No employee shall be assigned to teach in a grade level and/or subject area not within the scope of his/her teaching certificate, except where a position within his/her certification is unavailable or when mutually agreed to by the affected employee and principal, or when determined necessary by the principal. Employees assigned to positions outside the scope of their certificates shall be assigned as soon as possible to positions for which they hold certification.

  • Shift Assignments When an opening occurs in a shift assignment in an appropriate work group at a location, preference shall be given to employees within the classification who possess the training, ability and any required special qualifications to perform the work required, on the basis of seniority. In the event that no employee desires a shift assignment, employees shall be selected in order of inverse seniority. This provision shall not apply to necessary training assignments. This provision shall not in itself alter the practice of rotating shifts where such practice presently exists. No employee who has a regular shift assignment on the effective date of the Agreement shall be involuntarily displaced from such shift assignment as a result of this Article.

  • Subcontracting; Assignment The Contractor may not subcontract any portion of the services provided under this Contract without obtaining the prior written approval of the Procurement Officer, nor may the Contractor assign this Contract or any of its rights or obligations hereunder, without the prior written approval of the Procurement Officer provided, however, that a contractor may assign monies receivable under a contract after due notice to the State. Any subcontracts shall include such language as may be required in various clauses contained within this Contract, exhibits, and attachments. The Contract shall not be assigned until all approvals, documents, and affidavits are completed and properly registered. The State shall not be responsible for fulfillment of the Contractor’s obligations to its subcontractors.

  • Work Assignments Section 1. The Company shall determine whether to staff a position or fill a vacancy and the method or combination of methods it shall use for such purposes. In making this determination, the Company shall first give consideration to qualified internal candidates prior to off-street applicants. All vacancies within the Bargaining Unit shall be posted (manually or electronically) in such a fashion as to be accessible by employees. The posting shall include the title, pay range, and sufficient information regarding requirements and duties to adequately describe the vacancy. The vacancy shall remain posted for seven (7) calendar days. Section 2. In connection with Section 1. above, employees who have met a twelve (12) month time-in-title and location requirement shall be afforded the opportunity to submit to the Company a form on which they may identify their interest in being considered for vacancies which occur in the Bargaining Unit. Section 3. When a vacancy is to be filled from within the Bargaining Unit, Management will consider all qualified candidates who have forms on file relating to the vacancy in question. In selecting the employee to fill the position, the Company will first give due consideration to the candidates’ qualifications and past performance and where those factors are relatively equal, in the judgment of the Company, it shall consider seniority. Section 4. The Company agrees to provide the Union, in writing, the names and titles of all candidates selected under this Article, by the fifteenth (15th) calendar day after any such selection is made. Section 5. Nothing in this Agreement shall be applied or interpreted to restrict the Company in the exercise of its right to hire, promote or transfer; and, to the extent the needs of the business require, to have Bargaining Unit work performed by its supervisory personnel, or its right to make sales assignments without limitations.

  • TEACHING LOADS AND ASSIGNMENTS A. The normal weekly teaching load in Owosso High School will be thirty teaching periods and five unassigned preparation periods. The normal weekly teaching load in Lincoln High School will be twenty-five teaching periods and five unassigned preparation periods. The normal weekly teaching load in the Middle School will be thirty teaching periods and five unassigned preparation periods. The normal weekly teaching load in the elementary schools will be thirty teaching hours. Each elementary teacher will be provided with 45-60 minutes of unassigned planning time five days a week. No departure from these norms, except in the case of emergency, shall be authorized without prior consultation with the Association. In the event of any disagreement between the representative of the Board and the Association as to the need and desirability of such deviation, the matter may be processed through the professional grievance procedure hereinafter set forth. B. Teachers who will be affected by a change in grade assignments in the elementary school grades and by changes in subject assignments in the secondary school grades will be notified and consulted by their principals as soon as schedules for the coming year are established per the procedure set forth in Article 10. C. Teachers will assume responsibility for hall conduct for the area adjacent to their rooms and may expect reasonable assignment by the building administrator corridor duties. D. Teachers may expect reasonable assignment by the building administrator to school related activities carried on within the school day. E. The Board and the Association recognize that the education of the children of the Owosso School District is their primary responsibility. The Board and the Association recognize that they also have a responsibility to assist in the training of future teachers. The Board, therefore, agrees to the following practices as regards student or practice teachers. 1. No teacher shall be assigned a student teacher against his wishes. 2. Probationary teachers may not be used as critic or supervisory teachers. 3. Critic or supervising teachers shall have the right to recommend to the building administrator the rejection at any time of any assigned student teacher with whom they feel they cannot work effectively. 4. No critic teacher may be assigned more than one student teacher for a given time period in academic classes unless the critic teacher agrees to the multiple assignment. 5. Critic teachers will receive the current rate of compensation paid by the universities. 6. Student teachers will not be used as substitute teachers outside their student teaching assignments.
