STATUTORY AND DECLARED HOLIDAYS. All employees who work under the platoon system described in Article (a) hereof shall be allowed time off with pay for six (6) periods of twenty-four hours in lieu of all statutory and other holidays permitted to other employees under this agreement. Emergency Communications Co-ordinators and Operators shall be allowed time off with pay for eleven (11) periods of hours in lieu of all statutory holidays and other holidays permitted to other employees under this agreement. holidays : All other employees shall receive time off with pay for each of the following New Year's Day Labour Day Good Friday Thanksgiving Day Easter Monday Remembrance Day Canada Day Christmas Day Civic Holiday Boxing Day and the birthday (or day fixed by proclamation for the celebration of the birthday) of the reigning monarch, and any other day declared by a competent authority to be a holiday. Whenever any of the above holidays fall on a Sunday, the next day following shall be in lieu thereof a holiday and the provisions of this section shall apply thereto. Should any of the said holidays fall on a Saturday, one-half of such employees shall be allowed a day off on the Monday next following such holiday, and the other half of such employees shall be allowed a day off on the second Monday following such holiday. The choice of Monday aforesaid shall be allotted according to divisional seniority except as may be otherwise required to ensure the efficient operation of the Department; provided, that if it is not practicable in the opinion of the Commissioner of Fire Rescue Chief or Deputy Commissioner of Fire Rescue Fire Chief to allow time off on the Mondays aforesaid, the employees concerned shall receive equal time off at a time mutually agreeable to the Department and the employee. When an employee works under the platoon system or as an Emergency Communications Co-ordinator or Operator described in Article hereof, leaves the service, he will be granted the following time off with pay in lieu of all statutory and other holidays permitted less the entitlement for any holidays taken during the calendar year he leaves the service:

Shift Employees Long Term Care In lieu of the statutory or declared holidays as defined in the Agreement, all shift personnel shall be entitled to 12 days leave with pay in addition to vacation leave entitlement. Leave credits, in lieu of statutory or declared holidays, may be taken concurrent with vacation leave, or regular days off. Within six (6) weeks of the holiday the employee shall exercise one of the following options:
(1) receive payment; or
(2) take the leave with pay at a mutually agreeable time. Should the employee not exercise either option within the time limit set out above, the Employer may assign the date of the leave with pay. Such assignment shall not be made in an unreasonable manner. All Long Term Care shift personnel who may, as a result of their shift schedule, be on duty on the actual day of the statutory or declared holiday as defined above shall, in addition to the time off with pay specified in this section, receive one and one-half (1 ½) times the hourly rate of pay for all time worked during the shift for the hours falling on the statutory or declared holiday. Any employee who separates from employment during the calendar year shall only be entitled to those statutory or declared holidays which were celebrated up to the date of separation, and any lieu day credits used in excess of the employee’s entitlement shall be repaid to the Employer. It is agreed that shift employees in Long Term Care shall not be required to work both Christmas Day and New Year’s Day, but shall alternate from one to the other from one year to the next as may be required.
STATUTORY AND DECLARED HOLIDAYS. 7:01 Entitlement All Employees shall be entitled on a pro-rata basis to thirteen (13) Statutory and Declared Holidays in addition to their annual vacation. In lieu of the Statutory and Declared Holidays, each 24/7 shift Employee in the Fire Fighting and Communications Division and 24/7 shift Employees occupying positions of Safety Officer shall be credited with thirteen (13) lieu days, on a pro-rata basis where applicable. Such Employees shall be allowed to choose a cash-in-lieu for any days, or elect to take time off. The time off shall be based on the Employee’s regular scheduled workday and must be taken at a mutually agreed upon time. The Employee must signify his/her intention in writing to the Chief by November 1st of the preceding year of the number of days for which they intend to take time off. The Statutory and Declared Holidays are as follows:
1. New Years Day
2. Family Day 8. Civic Holiday
3. Good Friday 9. Labour Day
4. Easter Sunday 10. Thanksgiving Day
5. Easter Monday 11. Remembrance Day
6. Victoria Day 12. Christmas Day
7. Canada Day 13. Boxing Day In addition to those set out in the preceding paragraph, any day proclaimed by the Governor General in Council or the Lieutenant Governor in Council for the Province of Ontario, shall be a Statutory or Declared Holiday. The Employee's date for determining his/her entitlement to payment in lieu of Statutory Holidays shall be the actual date of his/her appointment to the Fire Department.
STATUTORY AND DECLARED HOLIDAYS. 16.01 The following days shall be statutory or declared holidays with pay for all employees: New Year’s Day Good Friday Easter Monday Victoria Day Canada Day Civic Holiday Labour day Thanksgiving Day Remembrance Day Christmas Day Boxing Day And, in addition, any day proclaimed as a holiday by the Federal or Ontario Government or by the Mayor of the City of Ottawa shall be a recognized holiday.
STATUTORY AND DECLARED HOLIDAYS. 15.01 Each Firefighter and Probationer shall be entitled to one shift off with pay for each of the following Statutory or Declared Holidays. A 24 hour shift to be considered as two shifts. Lieu days to be scheduled at the discretion of the Fire Chief. New Year's Day Victoria Day Remembrance Day Family Day Dominion Day Thanksgiving Day Good Friday Civic Holiday Christmas Day Easter Monday Labour Day Boxing Day and any other day proclaimed as a holiday by the Federal or Provincial Governments, or the Mayor of the City of Niagara Falls. To be entitled to these lieu days, a Firefighter or Probationer must be in the employ of the Corporation on the actual day the holiday occurs although it is recognized that lieu days may be scheduled in advance in anticipation of actual employment. Should a Firefighter's employment be terminated for any reason, lieu days which have been granted will be reclaimed from his final pay. Each Firefighter and Probationer who works on the Statutory or Declared Holiday between 08:00 to 18:00 hours, shall receive in addition to the pay provided in Article15.01, time and one half his/her regular rate of pay for hours worked on the holiday.

6.7.1 In addition to those holidays set out above, any day proclaimed by the Governor General in Council or the Lieutenant Governor in Council for the Province of Ontario shall be a statutory or declared holiday.
6.7.2 Any employee who works on the statutory or declared holiday, shall be paid for such hours worked at time-and-one-half the regular rate of pay. * Employees who work on both Easter Sunday and the August Civic Holiday will have the option of being paid at time and one half (1 ½ ) for hours worked on one of the two holidays only.

STATUTORY AND DECLARED HOLIDAYS. 7-01 In addition to his annual vacation as herein provided, each employee shall be entitled to a day in lieu thereof for each of the following days and any other day proclaimed by the Federal, Provincial and Municipal Governments as a holiday which occurs during his term of employment:

7.02 The Members of the Association shall take Statutory and Declared Holidays off, and selection of the float holiday as they occur with pay, however, flexibility will be permitted with respect to time off, subject to the exigencies of service and entirely at the discretion of the Chief of Police;
7.03 The Members of the Association shall be entitled to any other Statutory or Declared Holiday proclaimed by the Province of Ontario or the Government of Canada.
STATUTORY AND DECLARED HOLIDAYS. (a) Employees shall be paid 4.4% of their regular earnings every two weeks in lieu of statutory holiday pay entitlements as set out in Article 16 of the collective agreement.
(b) An employee authorized to work on any of the Holidays, as set out in Section 16.01 shall be paid at the rate of one and one-half (1½) the employee’s regular straight time hourly rate of pay for all hours worked on such holiday in addition to the compensation provided in a) above.
