Salary Differentials. Classified Administrators whose normal assignment requires them to work until 7:00 PM or later for at least 75% of their work year will be entitled to one additional range on the salary schedule for the entire year.
Salary Differentials. Differentials above the stated guide may be paid for the following reasons:
Salary Differentials. Reasonable incentive differentials shall be maintained between each class in a series and reasonable relationships among related classes in different series.
Salary Differentials. Teachers already employed by the Hazleton Area School District on or before October 19, 1990, will retain a Seven Hundred Dollar ($700.00) special education differential and a Three Hundred Dollar ($300.00) remedial reading differential above that of a regular classroom teacher. Effective September 1, 1991, these differentials will be eliminated for any newly hired employee. It is clearly understood that those teachers already in the employ of the Hazleton Area School District on October 19, 1990, will retain the remedial reading and special education differential.
Salary Differentials. (1) Differentials based upon the following conditions shall continue for those unit members holding such positions as of November l, 1978. Unit members appointed to such positions after November 1, 1978, shall not receive differentials.

a. Assignment to duties for which a salary differential is designated other than a temporary assignment of less than twenty (20) working days shall be made on the basis of seniority among those employees in the appropriate class who request such an assignment.
b. Long-term Salary Differentials as designated in this Article shall be based on the special requirements of a particular position or the authorized use of special skills by a particular incumbent and for which payment shall be continued during paid absences of the employee.
c. Short-term Salary Differentials as designated in this Article shall be for the performance of a specific task that is not assigned to a particular position or incumbent on a continuing basis and for which payment shall not be continued during paid absences of the employee.
2.1 Shift Differentials shall be granted as described in Article IX, Section 3.0, Hours and Overtime, and shall be considered long-term differentials. An employee regularly assigned to a work shift for which a salary differential is paid shall not lose such compensation if temporarily assigned, for twenty (20) working days or less, to a work shift not entitled to such compensation.
Salary Differentials. The salary differential for Guidance Counselors and eligible psychologists shall be increased by the percentage increases in the salary schedules. The said differentials shall not be considered as compensation for days worked beyond the teacher work year as hereinabove defined. Psychologists hired after June 30, 1983 shall not receive a salary differential.
Salary Differentials. County salary differentials between the ranks of Sergeant and Lieutenant shall be maintained at no less than 12.5% differential.
Salary Differentials. 4.1 An employee who works 50 percent or more of any shift in a higher classification covered by this Agreement shall receive the rate of pay for the higher wage classification for that shift. This provision does not apply to those jobs which have a differential as set forth in this Section 4.

4.3 The payment of a differential to any employee under this Section shall not affect any merit compensation received by such employee while so substituting. The Section shall not apply to any employee already receiving a higher rate of pay than for the position in which he/she is substituting or to learners or apprentices.
4.4 Any employee on the payroll presently receiving a differential of $6.00 per shift and who is regularly required to work after 8 P.M. or before 6 A.M. shall continue to receive such differential for the duration of the Agreement. Effective one week following the signing of this Agreement all other employees shall receive a shift differential of $4.00 per shift when required to work after 8 P.M. or before 6 A.M.
Salary Differentials. 4.1 Any employee who is assigned to perform the work of Assistant Metro Editor, Wire Editor, Section Editor or Copy Desk Chief for fifty percent (50%) or more of a shift on a regular day off, temporary absence or vacation of the person regularly holding such positions shall receive a differential of $9.00 in addition to his/her regular salary. The payment of a differential to any employee under this section shall not affect any compensation received by such employee while so substituting. This section shall not apply to learners, interns, summer replacements nor to persons who have not had at least thirty (30) days of experience in such position. DIFFERENTIAL FOR NIGHT WORK
4.2 Any employee working a shift beginning or ending between 9:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. shall receive a differential of $5.25.
