Section Seniority. Starting times preference shall be given to senior employees on the dock for established shifts. Except where a job or shift has been discontinued, there will be no job or shift bumping privileges. Senior employees shall be given preference to fill vacancy on differential rated equipment if they are qualified. and capable.

Vacancies in the department will be filled at the bottom of the line from the labour pool, and plant seniority will be the determining factor in progression from the labour pool. Should there be any question in respect to the order of progression or position in line of progression the matter will be settled to the mutual satisfaction of both Standing Committees. The principle of the plant seniority will be i n determining who will be laid off. Any extension of the above shall be by mutual agreement and limited to one month intervals during which all conditions above shall apply.
