Service Defined. After initial placement on the salary schedule, a "full year of service" (defined as at least three-fourths of the days school is in session) is required to advance to the next step on the schedule. Part-time employees’ salaries, benefits, and duty assignments will be prorated based on the number of teaching periods of the employee. Regular contract employees who serve less than a full year will be paid on a per diem basis.
Service Defined. Service is defined as being actively at work or on approved leave of absence with pay including sick leave and vacation; or on maternity leave, but does not include leave of absence without pay in excess of 31 calendar days (See Article 19.6.2).

(1) Seniority accumulated pursuant to Article ▇.▇▇.▇.▇.▇▇ shall be included as aggregate service with the employer when the Teacher Teaching On Call is appointed to a term or continuing contract.
b. Time will be accumulated on the basis of contracted hours. In the case of Articles C.20.2.a.ii through C.20.2.a.v inclusive, time will accumulate on the basis of the current contract(s) or if not applicable, the contract most recently held.

Service Defined. Service for full-time employees shall be defined as the length of an employee's continuous employment with the Company, beginning on the date of hire. Company service shall be applied separately from part-time employees as a group distinct from full-time employees and defined as the length of an employee’s continuous employment with the Company, beginning on the date of hire.
