BUS ROUTE ASSIGNMENTS. 7.8.1 Prior to the beginning of each new school year and on or about October 1, each year as well as prior to the beginning of the extended year/summer school session, the Employer shall hold a meeting of Lead School Bus Drivers, School Bus Drivers and School Bus Attendants for the purpose of assigning bus routes. A list of established routes, daily work hours and a Lead School Bus Driver, School Bus Driver and School Bus Attendant seniority list shall be prepared by the Employer prior to the meeting for the purpose of enabling all Lead School Bus Drivers, School Bus Drivers and School Bus Attendants to indicate their preferred bus route in the order of their seniority. During the meeting, the Employer shall assign bus routes in the order of seniority provided, however, that the senior applicant is fully trained, qualified and meets the program needs for that particular bus route. Bus routes that are less than seven (7) hours per day (35 hours per week) will be reserved for part-time drivers. All routes that are seven (7) hours per day (35 hours per week) or more will be available for full-time (8 hours per day) Lead School Bus Drivers, School Bus Drivers and part-time School Bus Drivers to bid on according to the seniority list provided by the Employer. Full-time (7½ hours per day) School Bus Attendants shall be restricted to only bidding on the longest-hour bus routes. Part-time School Bus Attendants who work less than 7½ hours per day shall be restricted to bidding on the shortest-hour bus routes. For purposes of benefit proration, the employees FTE at the end of the prior school year will remain the same until the October 1, bid. 7.8.2 The Lead School Bus Driver positions are currently full-time positions. These Lead School Bus Drivers shall be assigned a route within their current Lead School Bus Driver classification and one without a scheduled mid-day route to allow time to perform Lead School Bus Driver duties. These assigned routes will be pulled from the list of available routes prior to the bid. 7.8.3 As bus route vacancies occur thereafter, a bus route vacancy notice shall be posted a minimum of two (2) working days, thereby giving bus drivers and School Bus Attendants the opportunity to express their preference and be considered on the same basis as set forth in 7.8.1 above. 7.8.4 Whenever no bus drivers, nor School Bus Attendants apply for a bus route, the Employer may temporarily assign bus drivers and School Bus Attendants to such routes on...
BUS ROUTE ASSIGNMENTS. Bus assignment shall be maintained in a manner which will provide placement of newer or more mechanically sound buses on the longest routes or the route which places the greatest amount of mechanical stress on the bus because of the physical nature of the route.   • Shift Assignments When an opening occurs in a shift assignment in an appropriate work group at a location, preference shall be given to employees within the classification who possess the training, ability and any required special qualifications to perform the work required, on the basis of seniority. In the event that no employee desires a shift assignment, employees shall be selected in order of inverse seniority. This provision shall not apply to necessary training assignments. This provision shall not in itself alter the practice of rotating shifts where such practice presently exists. No employee who has a regular shift assignment on the effective date of the Agreement shall be involuntarily displaced from such shift assignment as a result of this Article.

  • Room Assignments 6.1 Rooms shall be occupied only by the residents(s) assigned to them by University Housing. 6.2 Assignments are non-transferable. Subletting is not permitted. 6.3 Keys will only be issued to the authorized residents of the assigned housing. University Housing staff are not permitted to issue a key to a friend, family member, or designee. Residents are prohibited from giving their keys to anyone who is not an authorized occupant. 6.4 Occupancy is defined as the number of people assigned to a bedroom; residence halls are either single or double occupancy, Wolf Village and Wolf Ridge are all single occupancy bedrooms, ▇▇ ▇▇▇▇ Village, Western Manor and Coastal Quarters are single or double bedrooms. 6.5 Students or employees assigned to ▇▇ ▇▇▇▇ Village or Western Manor may have a spouse and/or legal dependents assigned to the apartment with prior approval from University Housing. Friends, extended family members or other NC State students are not eligible to be an additional occupant unless the individual is a spouse and/or legal dependent of the primary applicant. The total number of residents, including the primary resident and all additional occupants, in one apartment cannot exceed the occupancy limit for the type of apartment, as outlined on the University Housing website. 6.6 NC State housing assignments are made without regard to age, color, disability, gender identity, genetic information, national origin, race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, or veteran status. 6.7 Roommate Preferences: While University Housing strives to meet resident’s requests for a preferred roommate, this Agreement does not guarantee such an assignment. Agreements will not be terminated and refunds will not be issued if preferred roommate requests cannot be granted. 6.8 Room/Roommate Changes: Assignment changes must be first approved by University Housing. Residents wishing to change a room assignment or roommate must complete the room change request in MyPack Portal. Submitting a request does not guarantee a change will be granted. Residents changing 6.9 University Housing may move residents for consolidation, disciplinary action, facility failure, or other reasons in response to unforeseen circumstances at its sole discretion. 6.10 Residents moving from one University-owned housing facility to another are bound to the applicable agreement/community standards/costs for the new facility assignment. Residents may also be responsible for any applicable termination charges resulting from the assignment transfer. 6.11 A qualified student with a disability who seeks reasonable accommodation in housing must register with the Disability Resources Office. The student should notify Housing by indicating the requested accommodation on their application or in a written request to the Housing Office by May 17 for the fall semester and November 2 for the spring semester. Applications submitted after these dates will be considered, however, NC State University cannot guarantee that it will be able to meet late applicants’ accommodation needs, including any needs that develop during the semester. Once the information is received, it shall be reviewed with relevant NC State officials, as appropriate (e.g. Disability Resources Office, Campus Health Services, the student’s academic advisor, etc.) and the student shall be informed of the decision in writing. 6.12 NC State Employees assigned to ▇▇ ▇▇▇▇ Village or Western Manor and University Housing student staff seeking housing accommodations including Assistance Animal approval must work through the Office of Institutional Equity and Diversity (OIED) for housing accommodation approval.

  • Overtime Assignments 1. In classifications where employees are eligible for overtime pay, overtime work shall be offered to employees within the work location involved from the appropriate work group in continuing rotation on the basis of seniority. Each employee shall be selected in turn according to his/her place on the seniority list by rotation provided, however, the employee whose turn it is to work possesses the qualifications, training and ability to perform the specific work required. 2. An employee requesting to be skipped when it becomes his/her turn to work overtime shall not be rescheduled for overtime work until his/her name is reached again in orderly sequence and an appropriate notation shall be made on the overtime roster. 3. In the event no employee accepts required overtime work, the State shall assign employees within the work location involved from the appropriate work group to perform the overtime work by continuing rotation in inverse order of seniority. Employees who are unavailable, including employees who are on vacation, sick leave or other approved leaves of absence, and employees for whom the requirement of overtime work would cause undue hardship, shall be excused from a required overtime assignment. Employees so excused shall not lose their eligibility for overtime work within the then current rotation. 4. Work in progress, when appropriate, shall be completed by the employee performing the work at the time the determination is made that overtime is required except that an employee for whom the requirement of overtime work would cause undue hardship shall be excused from the overtime assignment.
