Plant Operator. The Supplier must supply an Operator where item 7 of the Agreement Details provides that the Supplier is responsible for the provision of an Operator. Where the Supplier is responsible for the provision of an Operator, the Supplier must supply or provide an Operator for each item of Plant/Equipment (unless otherwise directed by Watpac) and ensure that at all times each such Operator: (a) subject to the last paragraph of clause 4 and the last paragraph of this clause 9, remains an employee of the Supplier; (b) is experienced, competent and fit to operate the Plant/Equipment; (c) holds appropriate qualifications, licences and certificates necessary to properly and lawfully operate the Plant/Equipment, including as required by any Law; (d) complies with all safety, environmental, quality assurance and industrial relations Laws and Site-specific requirements, all relevant Australian Standards, Watpac’s directions, HSE Legislation, HSE Requirements, Policies, all prudent fatigue management practices and any requirements Watpac may have for the Operator to:‌ (i) participate in and comply with Site inductions; (ii) use appropriate personal protective equipment (to be provided by the Supplier); (iii) adopt and adhere to safe working procedures; and (iv) inspect the Plant/Equipment prior to each shift;‌ (e) operates the relevant Plant/Equipment in accordance with this Agreement, all relevant Law, any directions of Watpac and good industry practice; and (f) is paid by the Supplier in accordance with the Operator’s employment contract and receives the proper working conditions applicable to the Site and in accordance with all Laws. The Supplier acknowledges and agrees that in the event that an Operator is unavailable at the start of a shift for any reason, Watpac may procure an alternative operator to operate the relevant Plant/Equipment until the Operator becomes available to recommence the operation of the relevant Plant/Equipment. The Supplier acknowledges and agrees that: (g) it has no Entitlement to payment or otherwise in respect of the Operator for the shifts (or part thereof) for which the Operator was unavailable; and‌ (h) the costs incurred by Watpac in procuring an alternative operator for any Plant/Equipment, as referred to above, will be a debt due from the Supplier to Watpac. The Supplier must not replace the Operator without the prior written consent of Watpac.
Plant Operator. CLASSIFICATION OF EMPLOYEES 1. The tasks are within the limits of the employees skill, competence and training and are not designed to promote deskilling. 2. Where the tasks involve the use of tools and equipment the employee has been properly trained in the use of such tools and equipment. 3. Any requirement to perform tasks from any occupational grouping is consistent with the employers' responsibilities to provide a safe and healthy working environment. 4. Where an employee is required to perform a task or tasks on an as required basis from any occupational grouping and the task or tasks has/have a higher work value than the employee’s existing work level, the employee is to be paid at the appropriate higher rate in accordance with the Mixed Functions provisions set out in Clause 3.1.10
Plant Operator. Employees within the classification of Plant Operator who are assigned to work at CKTP and who have obtained a Level III certification shall receive premium pay as follows: a. For work performed during the day shift on weekdays: five percent (5%) of the employee’s base hourly pay for hours actually worked during this time period; provided, employees shall receive this premium for non-worked hours taken as sick leave. b. For work performed during the swing or grave shifts on weekdays or for any work performed on a Saturday or Sunday: ten percent (10%) of the employee’s base hourly pay for hours actually worked during this time period; provided, employees shall receive this premium for non-worked hours taken as sick leave.
Plant Operator. Where the Supplier is responsible for the supply of an operator for the Plant/Equipment (“Operator”), the Supplier shall ensure that, to the satisfaction of Watpac, at all times that the Operator: (a) remains an employee of the Supplier; (b) is experienced, competent and fit to operate the Plant/Equipment; (c) holds appropriate qualifications, licenses and certificates; (d) complies with all safety, environmental and industrial relations legislative and site-specific requirements, all relevant Australian Standards and Watpac’s directions, including all prudent fatigue management practices and all requirements to: (i) participate in and comply with site inductions; (ii) use appropriate personal protective equipment (to be provided by the Supplier); (iii) adopt and adhere to safe working procedures; and (iv) inspect the Plant/Equipment prior to each shift; and
Plant Operator. A Plant Operator shall: • Work individually or in a team environment; and, • Holds a statutory licence or certificate of competency that is acceptable to the Employer; and • Possess the relevant skills, experience, knowledge and ability required by the Employer. • Perform labouring duties.
Plant Operator. The Plant Operator(s) work with the Senior Plant Operator to maximize production and minimize down time within the plant. Under the direction of the Senior Plant Operator they will make process adjustments and physically check and maintain all equipment in a safe, clean and efficient manner. The Plant Operator(s) shall be trained on all production equipment within the Blue Mountain Plant, along with all the applicable Ministry of Labour Common Core Specialty Modules. Once a Plant Operator has been trained on a designated circuit and completed all applicable Common Core Specialty modules then that individual will be moved up within the classification. The designated circuits for classification advancement are: Dryer/Tertiary Crushing Circuits, Sand Production/Tailings, and Pebble Mill/Minbloc Circuits and will be assigned based on daily production needs. Employees within the Plant Operator classifications are expected to and will start training to work towards the next job classification with the goal of eventually becoming a Senior Plant Operator. Each employee will have 30 calendar days to progress from one class to the next. If they are not able to progress, an additional 30 calendar days will be provided and after that, they will be disqualified. The above training does not include any other training the Company deems beneficial to the operation of the plant, but only the above circuits will be utilized for advancement within the Plant Operator classification. The following operator classifications describe the primary areas of competency which are required to achieve qualification in each class: Once a Plant Operator, achieves training and qualification in the following circuits: Dryer and Tertiary Crushing Circuits, along with all the applicable Ministry of Labour Common Core Specialty Modules the employee would be entitled to the grade and classification of Plant Operator – Class 1

(This may include the requirement to set and prioritise work parameters for other employees of the same level within the scope of the activity being undertaken), • inspect and ensure the quality of work undertaken by employees, • advise group members of the most appropriate procedures and safe work practices affecting the methods of work thereby ensuring employee and public safety at the worksite or location, • ensure that labour, tools, materials and equipment are available, used efficiently and safely where appropriate, are properly maintained, • prepare and maintain records and incident reports, • provide an overall on the job leadership role, • exercise judgement and advise on matters requiring the application of skills and knowledge, • assist in the on-the-job training of employees, • perform associated duties as directed. Employees at this level will have experience relevant to undertake the duties required and will be required to perform a range of higher level operative tasks. Employees at this level may undertake lower level duties covered by Schedule 3. Plant Operator. The Hirer shall at all times exercise due care that the Plant is not driven or operated by any person not duly authorised under all relevant laws, by-laws and regulations to be driving or operating such Plant for the purpose for which it is designed to be used. The Hirer shall take all reasonable precautions to prevent bodily injury or damage to property and will comply with all statutory obligations and by-laws and regulations imposed by any Public Authority for the safety of persons and property.
