Workweek and Workday. 10.1.1 The regular workweek for a full-time Unit Member will be forty (40) hours. The workweek for any Unit Member having an average workday of four (4) hours or more during the workweek shall consist of no more than five (5) consecutive working days. Duties will normally be scheduled on the days Monday through Friday; but, where it is necessary to carry out the functions of the assignment or to avoid conflicts with the instructional program, or if mutually agreed to by CSEA and the District, duties may be scheduled on any five (5) consecutive days, e.g., Tuesday through Saturday, or as provided for elsewhere in this Agreement. 10.1.2 The length of the workday shall be designated by the District for each Unit Member in accordance with the provisions set forth in the Agreement. 10.1.3 Except as provided in section 10.1.3.6, each Unit Member shall be assigned a fixed, regular, and ascertainable minimum number of hours per day, with regular daily starting and ending times, days per week, and months per year. Any change in a Unit Member’s schedule shall comply with the provisions of the section, except as provided in section 10.1.3.6. 10.1.3.1 The District has the right to change a Unit Member’s work schedule with respect to the days per week and/or starting and ending times to meet the operational needs of the District. When a Unit Member’s work schedule is changed, the Immediate Management Supervisor will provide a rationale for the change. A Unit Member’s work schedule may not be changed permanently unless the Unit Member is given twenty (20) working days advance written notice. A permanent work schedule change is a change that will continue beyond twenty (20) working days. 10.1.3.2 The District has the right to change a Unit Member’s work schedule in conjunction with the disciplinary process, for the causes specified in Article 20.3. 10.1.3.2.1 Where the cause for disciplinary action involves an issue under Article 20.3.1, 20.3.9, or 20.3.10, the informal corrective measures, as specified in Article 20.5.1, shall be implemented prior to implementing a change in a Unit Member’s schedule as a corrective measure. 10.1.3.2.2 Any change in a Unit Member’s schedule in conjunction with the disciplinary process shall constitute an informal corrective measure within the meaning of Article 20.2.3. 10.1.3.3 The work schedules of Unit Members in campus safety/security classifications shall be subject to change on a rotating basis, not more often than once every twelve...
Workweek and Workday. The workweek begins on Monday at 12:01 a.m. and ends at 11:59 p.m. the following Sunday and the workday begins at 12:01 a.m. and ends at 11:59 p.m. The regular work week will consist of 40 hours in five consecutive eight hour days or four 10 hour days at management’s discretion, provided however, that this shall not be deemed as a guarantee that a given number of hours of work shall be available in any workday or workweek.

The normal work year for all Employees shall be twelve (12) months, July 1ST through June 30th. 2. The normal workday for full-time Employees shall be eight (8) consecutive hours, exclusive of the unpaid lunch period. The Board reserves the right to schedule Employees to work Saturday or Sunday as part of the Employees regular workweek. Such schedules will be established as new positions are added to the bargaining unit; where vacancies are created due to the severance of Employees; or on a voluntary basis. The payment for work performed on Saturday or Sunday, where part of the Employees regular workweek, will not require the payment of overtime. Work schedules mutually agreed upon will be arranged for Employees whose workweek incorporates Saturday or Sunday, so that the Employee works the same number of hours for the week as other Employees with the same number of scheduled hours for the workweek. No Employee will be required to work on the actual holiday. If projects that are not regularly part of Division 2 are implemented, the first Employees asked to work overtime shall be the Division 2 staff. Should additional Employees be needed after all Division 2 Employees have been asked, those Employees in Divisions 1, 3, and 4 shall be asked on a rotational basis by seniority. The hourly wage for all non-Division 2 Employees will be $10.00 per hour. During the month of May, the Employer shall notify all other Divisions regarding possible work opportunities, including the procedure for Employees to sign up for the work if interested. 3. In the event the Board changes a custodial Employee's work schedule in such a fashion that it constitutes a change (defined as more than two hours) in the Employee's shift, the Employee will have the opportunity to displace the least senior Employee on his/her former shift or to take the newly scheduled hours. 4. In the event the Board elects to increase the hours of a part-time Employee of this division, the Employee's position will not be posted if the increase is two (2) hours or less. If the increase exceeds two (2) hours, the position will be posted.

An individual worksite may establish an adjusted workweek schedule that includes one day per week with more than eight (8) hours and one day per week with less than eight (8) hours as long as the total hours for the week are still no more than 40 (forty). If a worksite establishes an adjusted workweek schedule it must be designated at the beginning of the school year for the week(s) it will be utilized AND the schedule must allow for employees to complete all daily assigned supervisory duties prior to their scheduled end time. Full-time employees shall be on duty and available on the school site or site otherwise designated by their principal or immediate supervisor for such above period of time on days employees are to report to work. 2. If mutually agreed to by an employee and supervisor, daily work schedules may vary on an individual basis. 3. A supervisor may vary daily work schedules on an individual or group basis when in their judgment such variance is in the interest of the district. The supervisor shall provide at least 20 contract days’ notice. The supervisor shall make a reasonable effort to consult with affected employee or employees before imposing a change in the employee's or employees' working hours. 4. For parent/family teacher conference days, twice annually the work week for school/program based licensed staff may be adjusted to include two 12-hour days. The following parameters exist for this adjusted schedule: a. The 12-hour days can include an instructional day for the first day, but the second day cannot be an instructional day. b. The two 12-hour days can include grading time as outlined in Article XI. c. Professional development time during 12-hour days per level shall be limited to the equivalent of one half-day and only can occur when one half-day of grading time total during the two 12-hour days exists. d. Employee preparation time shall be 90 minutes on 12-hour days. e. Employees shall have a second 30-minute mealtime on 12-hour days. f. No meetings or other required tasks other than those specified here will take place during 12-hour days. g.
