Grievance Procedure Step. 1 The employee shall, with the consent of the Zone Representative or the Grievance Committee, file a written grievance with her/his immediate supervisor and Human Resources within five (5) working days of when the incident giving rise to the complaint would reasonably have been known to the employee. If the immediate supervisor is in the bargaining unit, the grievance shall be made to the manager, or if the manager of the supervisor is the head of the department, step 1 shall be omitted and the grievance shall proceed directly to the head of the department at step 2. The grievor and a Union representative shall meet with the supervisor within five (5) working days to discuss the grievance and seek a settlement.
