Trip Assignments. Trips may be assigned to unassigned drivers to fill their confirmed hours before offered on rotation. It will be expected that the driver will perform all of their regular work first. Trips are offered to drivers in this order – the day, and then by order the trip was submitted.
Trip Assignments. 1. The District has the sole discretion to assign any trip(s) or wash time to Bus Drivers during each Bus Driver’s daily guaranteed time. As Bus Driver may not refuse any assignment or wash time that is completely contained within a Bus Driver’s daily guaranteed time.
2. Turn-down time applies only to the refusal of overtime trips or assignments that require more hours than a Bus Driver’s daily guaranteed time.
3. During the weekday, the District has discretion to make any assignments necessary for all trips that need to be assigned within 24 hours of the time in which the trip is scheduled to depart.
4. During the weekday, any bus driver that declines an assignment that is within 24 hours of time in which the trip is scheduled to depart, will not have any turn-down time counted against them.
5. During any weekend, the District must offer assignments that occur within 24 hours of the time in which the trip is scheduled to depart according a rotating seniority list beginning with the most senior member and ending with the least senior member according to date of hire. The District, when needing to utilize this list, shall contact the next member on that list and continue to scroll down the list until the District receives an acceptance from a unit member on that list. The rotating seniority list shall be an on-going list that shall continue to rotate throughout a fiscal year. The rotating seniority list shall be reset July 1 of each fiscal year.

Trip Assignments. Assigning additional work “trip assignments” other than regular routes that generate additional hours for bus drivers on a rotating seniority basis.
A. The District agrees that all additional work will generally be assigned on a rotating seniority basis with all regular drivers given first opportunity to take the additional work. Additional work shall be defined as additional driving assignments and may be applied to trips, routes or assignments or duties that generate pay for bus drivers.
B. All known trips for the following week will be posted on Wednesday and assigned by 4:00 p.m. on Friday. On occasions the dispatcher and the transportation supervisor may assign additional work on an “as needed” basis. The rotation method and ranking list will be posted at the same time and place the trips are posted.
C. Special needs drivers are not permitted to post for trips during a time that would disrupt their regular route. Special needs drivers will be given first priority for special needs trips.

F. The District will provide the removed driver with the opportunity to improve his or her knowledge and skills through the creation of a growth plan. When the driver has completed the growth plan he or she will be placed back on the rotation list.
G. The District and Association will create an evaluation of school related function driver/trips to be completed by the activity sponsors at the conclusion of each trip. Rotating seniority will be based on the following process. At the beginning of the first (1st) and third (3rd) weeks of each month, the rotation starts with the most senior driver and trip assignments will be based on seniority. At the beginning of the second (2nd), fourth (4th), and fifth (5th) weeks of each month, the rotation begins with the driver who was next in line for a trip assignment at the end of the prior week. Trip Assignments. A. All trip assignments (field trips, extra trips) shall be determined by the District, and shall be defined as any driving assignment other than a scheduled route. Trip assignment hours shall not be counted towards benefit eligibility. Through the second Friday of the school year, Employees will be eligible to bid for those trips that do not interfere with their regular routes. During this time (through the second Friday), the Employer, in its sole discretion, may assign field trips to substitute drivers if there is not a sufficient number of Employees eligible to bid.
B. No Employee’s hours worked shall exceed forty (40) hours in a consecutive seven (7) day period. Drivers shall be guaranteed a minimum of two (2) hours driving time for each trip assignment, except no employee will be allowed to earn double pay for the same time period. If any driver selects a trip that would result in double pay, the driving time for the trip will be reduced by the amount of time that would result in double payment. If during any consecutive two week period, regular drivers’ routes are not covered, management reserves the right to temporarily suspend the awarding of field trips to regular drivers that take place during the time scheduled as the regular driver’s route.
C. Field trips shall be posted every week on Monday (or as soon as possible on holiday weeks) and are posted for three (3) work days. Employees shall make their selection from the list). Weekly bids shall occur every Wednesday at 9:00 a.m. for the following week on a rotating seniority basis. The first field trip list of the school year shall be posted a minimum of five (5) days prior to the first day of school. Employees shall bid on the field trips based on seniority with the most senior employee making the first selection. All bidding for the remainder of the year shall be based on a continued rotation of the seniority list. Each opportunity for bidding shall begin at the point on the list where the selection process left off at the previous opportunity to bid. Trip Assignments. 11.7.1 Trips are those requests for transportation that are submitted on a trip request form. All other work is considered route or extra work.
11.7.2 Trip assignments will be made based on the following matrix: Monday-Friday X Weekend/Holiday* X Snow X X Monday-Friday Special Ed** X Weekend/Holiday* Special Ed** X *Based on time of departure. **Special Education Teacher or Special Needs Bus. Only if Special Needs drivers are unable to fill the trip request. This is a chargeable trip.
11.7.3 All trips will be assigned on Wednesday for the following week.
11.7.4 If a trip comes into the office late, it will be assigned to the driver who is, at that time, up for a trip. If the driver cannot be reached to assign a last minute trip or refuses a trip assigned within 24 hours prior to departure, he/she will not be charged for that trip.
11.7.5 Trips may be split in two (2) parts--delivery and pickup. This will result in the driver returning to the parking lot during the middle part of the day or to his/her regular schedule. Weekday split trips will be compensated for actual hours worked. Individuals providing one part of the split trip will be charged for the trip. Normally, trips out of the general area (greater than thirty (30) miles one way will not be a split trip.
11.7.6 If a driver does not have the appropriate size bus and/or needs a bus with a luggage compartment for a trip, a bus will be assigned to the driver. This can result in a bus being taken off the regular route and the driver of that route being assigned to another bus.
11.7.7 When a mandatory meeting is called, a driver who has been assigned a trip will not be charged for the trip and will attend the meeting.
11.7.8 If two (2) or more buses are scheduled for trips, it will be the responsibility of the senior driver to assign average loads per bus. Minimum loads for eleven (11) row buses are forty-four (44) students, and for thirteen (13) row buses, fifty-two (52) students.
11.7.9 If the number of passengers is not sufficient to justify the use of all buses originally scheduled, it will then be the responsibility of the senior driver to cancel the trip request of a volunteer driver or the least senior driver not required to take the trip.

Trip Assignments. Wednesday morning trips will be chosen by drivers for the following week based on 44 seniority. Drivers must be present on the day of trip assignments unless other 45 arrangements have been made with the Transportation Supervisor. If there are more trips 46 than drivers, a 2nd rotation will begin at the top of the seniority list and continue until all 47 trips have been chosen by drivers. Should an eligible driver fail to choose a trip on 48 Wednesday they shall move to the bottom of the seniority list for that week.

Three (3) consecutive refusals on the Monday through Friday Roster will cause the employee to be eliminated from the Field Trip Rosters for the remamder of the semester. Employees must be given 48 hours' notice in advance of a trip assignmt:nt. When there is less than 48 hours' notice, driver will not be by-passed regardless of hours worked, also refusal will not change the employee's place on the roster. Employees cannot trade trips after assigned, without the approval of the Transportation Supervisor.
2. Probationary/temporary assigned drivers shall not be considered for extra trips unless all other . drivers fail to accept such a trip, or in an emergency situation.
3. The Transportation Supervisor shall provide information on authorized route and destination.
4. Any employee returning from a trip after 12:30 a.m. shall not be required to drive any portion of a route that starts before 8 :00 a.m. the next morning. The driver shall not lose pay for that route.
5. Drivers will complete trip reports by maintaining a record of the starting and ending odometer reading. Trip reports will be returned to the transportation office the next working day.
6. In accordance with Board of Education Policy, a school staff person must ride on each bus for each field trip to and from school.
7. On field trips, buses shall be limited to the following capacities: Pre-school through grade 6 - 65 person maximum Grade 7 through adult - 55 person maximum
8. If a driver is on a regularly scheduled run, their bus will not be taken from them for a field trip assignment more than every tenth time a bus change is required. The driver losing their bus must be given 24 hours' notice, when possible.

Trip Assignments. All bus trips from Monday thru Friday will be performed on a rotating schedule with the most senior employee selecting first (i.e. all scheduled trips for the following week will be posted and the most senior member will have first pick) and continuing down until all employees in the bargaining unit have selected. Once all contracted employees have selected a trip then the rotation will start over. If during rotation there are no trip(s) for the driver to select they will be bypassed until a trip which they may take becomes available at which time they will be next in rotation. Procedure for the assigning of bus trips are as follows:
1. Trips will be assigned a number and posted on the board.
2. Trip assignments will begin each Thursday at 9:30 am with the most senior driver picking first. You must remove the trip assignment you want from the board and give it to management. (If you do not turn in a trip assignment during your turn in the rotation, you will be forfeiting your rights to select a trip and the next driver in seniority will be permitted to select a trip).
3. With the start of rotation all drivers wanting trips will need to be present or turn in a slip with the number in the order you would prefer your trips.
4. Tournaments, rescheduled, new trips, and trips that are turned in and extra work (e.g., bus delivery and pick-up parts run) will start with the driver that is next in rotation (excluding substitutes unless no one from the bargaining unit accepts it).
5. All trips for the following week will be posted by close of business on Friday.
6. In case of an emergency and a trip is turned in late when the office is closed management will contact drivers via phone number in which they have provided to management. After the trips schedule have been exhausted twice by bargaining unit members work assignments may be given to Warren City School District substitutes who have signed the list. All trips on Saturday and Sunday will be picked with the senior member picking first at the Transportation Department.
