Bus Drivers and Bus Attendants. The School District shall provide uniforms to employees assigned as School Bus Drivers and Bus Attendants at no cost to the employee. Employees will be required to wear uniforms during the workday. Employees will be responsible for cleaning the uniform(s) provided by the District. Uniforms will be replaced on an as needed basis due to normal wear and tear or if lost through no fault of the employee. For replacement purposes, employees must turn in the appropriate garments. Any employee issued a uniform(s) who is leaving employment will be required to turn in his/her uniform(s) prior to receiving his/her last check. An employee who fails to comply with the Uniform Policy will be counseled and given a reasonable opportunity to comply prior to disciplinary action.

The Principal or designee will issue the initial discipline and/or suspension of the student in a timely manner and notify the Transportation Director or designee of the discipline and/or suspension including the reasons. The Principal or designee, working with the Transportation Director, will determine the duration of the suspension and will notify the parents and the driver of the terms of the suspension. C. Bus drivers are responsible for the daily cleaning of their buses. Cleaning of the buses shall be considered to be a part of the driver’s daily responsibilities. D. A driver with scheduled down time between a secondary run and an additional run (i.e., skill center, building trades, etc.) shall be paid a minimum of twenty-five (25) minutes paid down time per day. Safety check time will be built into the annual bus schedule. E. The following provisions will apply to field trips: 1. Bus drivers will be paid their regular hourly rate of pay (Saturday trips at time and a half if over forty (40) hours for the week) for all field trips, spectator buses, etc., plus fifteen (15) minutes cleaning time at the regular rate. A driver is required to report fifteen (15) minutes prior to field trip departure time to perform safety check, to prepare their bus for the trip and arrive at the school, and will be paid at the regular hourly rate. Any trip with duration of three (3) hours or less will be paid a regular hourly wage with no wait fee. For trips over three (3) hours, a wait fee of Step 1 in the driver’s pay schedule of the Master Agreement and will be paid to the driver from the time the bus is shut off at the trip’s destination until the bus is turned on at the trip site to deliver students to another location or to return back to the bus garage...
Bus Drivers and Bus Attendants assigned routes during a scheduled summer school session shall be allowed use of accumulated sick leave benefits. There shall be no accumulation of additional benefits as a result of working a summer school session.
Bus Drivers and Bus Attendants. These employees are classified as Hourly, Non- Exempt, and are compensated based on the total number of hours worked at an appropriate hourly rate. They are not exempt from the Fair Labor Standards Act Overtime Rule and will be paid accordingly. However, Bus Drivers and Bus Attendants cannot receive concurrent pay (double dipping) nor compensation for on-the-clock absences (payment for not working). ROUTE SCHEDULE TIME (RST): This form is utilized by management to define the unique start and end times of each employee's regular scheduled workday, which must be no less than 7 ½ hours. The RST should not be interpreted as an employment contract between individual employees and SDOC guaranteeing a fixed basic pay. Employees are expected to work the entirety of their regular scheduled workday. Tardiness or leaving the worksite early will result in deductions from Sick Leave balances and, for employees with no Sick Leave balance, will be unpaid.

The DOT physical examination for Bus Drivers shall be performed by the physician chosen by the Employer. The cost of the DOT physical will be paid in full by the Employer directly to the physician.
Bus Drivers and Bus Attendants assigned to directly support students in special education programs shall receive a copy of the Individualized Education Plan (IEP) at a glance and/or a copy of the Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP) on file prior to the start of the school year for the purpose of informing the employee of the appropriate methods of support relevant to the student(s). A copy of the IEP and BIP will be provided to the Director of Transportation and shared with the appropriate Bus Driver and/or Bus Attendant assigned to support the student. 2.1 Should a plan be developed and finalized that is specific to supporting the student while provided with transportation services, the Transportation Department shall receive a copy of the plan. #.2.1.1 The Transportation Department will be provided with a copy of a student’s summary or modified health plan when the plan addresses medical needs while provided with transportation services. Delete #.3 The classifications covered by this section shall be provided with the relevant PPE necessary to provide supports for students when required by the IEP, BIP or health plan.

SECTION 1 Safe Working Conditions Departmental management is responsible for and shall make every reasonable effort to ▇▇▇▇▇▇ and maintain safe working conditions. To this end, SEIU/FPSU will cooperate and encourage the employees to work in a safe manner. Employees shall receive appropriate training in order to operate equipment properly and safely. The District will determine proper and necessary safety equipment and devices for employees engaged in work where such special equipment and devices, where provided, must be used. Failure by employees to utilize provided equipment or devices will be subject to disciplinary measures. SECTION 2 Safety Committee SEIU/SEIU/FPSU shall designate two (2) representatives who are employees of the District to serve on the District Safety Committee. This committee shall meet quarterly. The District agrees to develop a Safety Incentive Program and meet with SEIU/SEIU/FPSU no later than July 1, 2013 to negotiate a Memorandum of Understanding for implementation of the program. The program is to be implemented as a pilot and will provide for a sharing of any savings that result from a reduction in the District’s Workers’ Compensation costs. SECTION 3 Safe Driver Standards A. Employees are required to drive Board owned vehicles safely and in compliance with all traffic codes. Each employee who is required to drive a Board vehicle shall maintain a valid driver’s license and a driving record with The Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles that is free of conviction for a moving violation that results in a suspension of driving privileges or contains no more than eighteen

  • Bus Drivers The provisions of this Article apply to school term bus drivers except as hereinafter modified. Bus Drivers are guaranteed a base of one thousand and ninety (1090) hours per school year. Guarantee consists of 1090 hours divided by possible working days in a school year times actual number of days worked. This excludes Saturday and Sunday and General Holiday trips. (a) Regular shift is defined as the conveyance of passengers to school in the morning and home in the afternoon. (b) Extra shift is defined as the conveyance of passengers for extra-curricular activities. (c) Shifts shall be paid at a minimum of two (2) hours and drivers' time will be uninterrupted if less than one-half (½) hour remains between shifts. (i) Drivers are entitled to one 15 minute rest period after two (2) hours of work and a second rest period after six (6) hours of work. Paid waiting times of 15 minutes or more will be construed as a paid rest period regardless of the length of time spent waiting. (d) All work after nineteen hundred (1900) hours on those days on which the regular shift has been worked shall be deemed to be overtime. After twelve (12) hours from the start of the regular shift, work will be deemed as overtime. (e) Hours of work consisting of regular and extra shifts and overtime are shared as equally as possible amongst drivers. Each driver has the opportunity to choose a percentage of the work available beyond one’s guaranteed hours, although the decision of the Employer will prevail. If no drivers are available, other transportation department staff may share the work. (f) Where School District transportation is used for extra-curricular trips on Saturdays and Sundays, the following applies instead of the overtime rates in Article 10.2: (i) Time and one-half (1 ½) regular rate for driving to and from destination. (ii) Upon arrival at destination, waiting time shall be paid at the regular rate of pay. (iii) No shift will be paid less than four (4) hours. (iv) Trips that are cancelled where the driver positions into departure point/school shall be paid at two (2) hours at one and one half (1 ½) times the regular rate. (v) All work carried out in this sub paragraph 9.5(f) shall be on a volunteer basis and shared as equally as possible. All Transportation employees may participate and shall be paid at the Bus Driver rate of pay. (vi) An exception to 9.5 (f) (i) to (iv) above will apply to bus driving on ski trips. Bus drivers who drive on ski trips shall share those hours only with other registered ski trip drivers. (g) Work carried out on General Holidays shall be paid in accordance with the current contract rates. (h) At the end of each school year a review of school bus drivers’ hours of work will be made to ensure minimum guarantee is met. Any shortages will be paid out.

  • Training and Orientation (a) No employee shall be required to work on any job or operate any piece of equipment until they have received proper training and instruction. (b) The Employer shall provide sufficient and adequate training and/or orientation to any employee working in a new or unfamiliar work area or position.
