OVERTIME AND HOURS OF WORK. A. All Employees of the bargaining unit assigned to work in the Criminal Investigation and Patrol Divisions shall be paid overtime at one and one-half their regular hourly rate of pay for all hours worked in excess of forty-two (42) hours during each seven (7) day period. Employees assigned to or working in the Support Services Division shall be paid overtime at one and one-half their regular hourly rate of pay for all hours worked in excess of eighty-four (84) hours during a fourteen (14) day period. All bargaining unit Employees covered by this Agreement shall be required to have supervisory approval prior to working any hours outside their regularly scheduled tour of duty. See Appendix I referencing the schedule of workweeks.
B. Each workday shall include roll call and a one-half (1/2) hour lunch period. Employees participating in a roll call session or one-half hour lunch break shall be in an on-duty status and subject to immediate call as determined by the demand for police service.
C. All days or hours of paid leave, except holidays and sixteen (16) personal hours, shall not be treated as days or hours worked.
D. If the Department initiates a change in an Employee’s regularly scheduled days and hours worked, said Employee shall be notified at least seven (7) days in advance of the changes in an Employee’s regularly scheduled hours and days worked which requires the Employee to work new or additional hours unless the Employee waives the notice requirement. In the event the Department changes an Employee’s work schedule with less than the required seven (7) day notice without securing a waiver from the affected Employee, the Employee shall be entitled to an additional three (3) hours pay at their regular hourly rate of pay for each shift worked outside of the regular schedule. For purposes of this section, notice shall be by and be deemed made when the Department sends written notice electronically to the Departmental mail addresses of the Employees, or at the Employee’s option to the Employee’s personal e-mail address. The Department shall not be required to give such notice, nor shall the Employee be entitled to additional compensation as stated herein, for such operations and investigations that occur in the CID, QRT, PIO, Accident Investigation, Evidence Technician, Forensic Computer Technician, Drug Recognition Expert, Canine (K-9) and Interpreters Sections/Units/Personnel where such seven (7) day notice cannot be given, and call-outs equal to or ...
OVERTIME AND HOURS OF WORK. 9.1 The normal hours of work for a working week shall not exceed forty five(45) hours provided that always an employee shall not be required to work continuously for more than five and half-hours without a break of not less than thirty minutes. The time of such break shall be at the discretion and fixed by the employer provided that alterations in the time set for such break do not take place unless thirty days’ notice has been given to the employees. The Employer shall notify the employees of the time of such break by means of a notice displayed in a conspicuous place at the place of work.
9.2 Where an employee has worked for more than Forty five(45) hours in any working week the hours worked in excess of forty- five shall be paid at the rate of ordinary full pay for that time plus half of ordinary full pay for that time provided that in the case of an employee who is absent from work through illness and who produces a valid medical certificate or in the case of an employee who is absent from work with the permission of his employer the hours which such employee would normally have worked during the shift or shifts when he was absent from work shall be included in the time worked when calculating overtime, provided that further when the normal working week as fixed by the management as provided in the above paragraph shall apply to all hours worked in excess of such normal working week.
9.3 Where the hours worked by the employee in any one day extend past midnight into the following day then the hours worked past midnight shall be paid at the basic rate of ordinary full pay for that time plus ordinary full pay for that time.
9.4 All hours worked on a Sunday or on Christmas or New Year’s Days shall be paid at the basic rate of ordinary full pay for that time plus ordinary full pay for that time in addition to the pay due to the employee in terms of the second schedule of this Agreement.
9.5 Provided that always the provisions of these paragraphs shall not apply in the case of a watchman. The hours to be paid as over- time shall be determined at the conclusion of each working week.
OVERTIME AND HOURS OF WORK. 12.01 Hours of Work: Forty-one and one-quarter (41.25)Eighty-two and one half (82.5) hours shall constitute a normal work week period for employees covered by this agreement. Effective at the beginning of the first pay period after ratification of this agreement by all partieswith the pay period following ratification of this Agreement by both parties, but no earlier than January 3, 2011, , eighty-four (84) hours in a fourteen (14) day cycle shall constitute the normal work period for bargaining unit members.
12.02 Any time worked over the normal work week period shall be considered as overtime, unless herein excluded. Employees called back to work after regular working hours, other than for court appearances, shall receive compensation as provided in 132.04 for a minimum of two (2) hours for officers and three (3) hours for detectives.
12.03 Actual hours worked, and administrative leave will be considered as time worked in calculating overtime hours.
12.04 The City may at its option, compensate overtime for work in excess of 41.25 hours per week the normal work period at a rate of one and one- half times the employee’s regular straight time rate, or compensatory time up to the maximum of 41.2584 accrued hours of compensatory time. Usage of compensatory time will follow the guidelines in Personal Leave Article.

The Department shall also comply with the Joint Motion for Approval of Settlement between the parties which was approved by the Court and shall retain the right under that agreement to assert exemptions by providing ninety (90) days’ notice to the Union.

B. The Employer shall not vary or rearrange a member’s scheduled tour of duty hours to avoid the payment of overtime when hours of overtime are previously worked unless agreed to at the sole option of the member.
C. Shifts #1 and 2 shall rotate on a twenty-eight (28) day basis. Shift #3 shall be permanent as reflected in the Memorandum of Understanding for Unit II, Article 24, Paragraph F.
D. Members of the Bargaining Unit shall not be required to attend roll call preparation without receiving compensation at their appropriate overtime rate.

OVERTIME AND HOURS OF WORK. A. Schedule and Hours of Work: Employees will normally work a schedule consisting of two 24-hour shifts, followed by four days off on a repeating basis (also known as a “48/96” work schedule). The schedule will result in an employee working roughly 2,912 hours per year and an average of 56 hours per week.
OVERTIME AND HOURS OF WORK. A. Members may be required to work twenty (20) work days (171 hours) in the established twenty-eight (28) day work period at straight time rates.
B. The workday shall consist of eight (8) hours and thirty-three (33) minutes, including roll call and a ½-hour lunch. All time worked in excess of eight (8) hours and thirty-three (33) minutes or in excess of twenty (20) days shall be compensated at overtime rates.
C. All days and hours of paid leave shall be treated as days and hours worked.
D. Roll call will begin twenty-one (21) minutes before the eight (8) hour tour. No additional compensation shall be paid for work performed during the first twelve (12) minutes after the tour.

B. The workday shall consist of eight (8) hours and thirty-six (36) minutes, including roll call and a ½-hour lunch. All time worked in excess of eight (8) hours and thirty-six (36) minutes or in excess of five (5) days shall be compensated at overtime rates.
C. All days and hours of paid leave shall be treated as days and hours worked.
D. Roll call will begin twenty-one (21) minutes before the eight (8) hour tour. No additional compensation shall be paid for work performed during the first fifteen (15) minutes after the tour.
E. The Employer shall not vary or rearrange a member's scheduled tour of duty hours to avoid the payment of overtime when hours of overtime are previously worked unless agreed to at the sole option of the member.
F. Shifts #1 and 2 shall rotate on a twenty-eight (28) day basis. Shift #3 shall be permanent as reflected in the Memorandum of Understanding for Unit I, Article 24, Paragraph F.
G. Members of the Bargaining Unit shall not be required to attend roll call preparation without receiving compensation at their appropriate overtime rate.
